I was a small engine mechanic. I hammered a Milwaukee 3/8 ratchet daily. It was awesome. I was diagnosed with Kienbachs disease. The ratchet gave me the ability to continue do the work I loved up to the point where I couldn't pick the tool up anymore. I miss my old Milwaukee ratchet at my old employer. I am going to buy one of these so I can fix peoples lawn equipment as a community service. Small engine repair was the most rewarding job I ever had. I love picking up mowers on the side of the road, fixing them and giving them away. Normally doesn't cost hardly anything and their are plenty of people that need a mower. Plus it keeps good equipment out of the scrap yards and landfills.

Makes installation and maintenance work so much easier. Though I do occasionally have to break the nut first with a manual ratchet/breaker bar, the ratchet just zips it off where an impact gun cannot reach.

I love the videos, the tests simulate real-world conditions we run into all the time. Breaking loose by hand, spinning off partially seized or rusted fasteners, hot and cold conditions. I've been using the Milwaukee m12 brushed ratchet for six years now as a professional HD truck mechanic. Two years ago it gave me a burning smell but is still working to this day. I love its compact size with the 2.0ah battery. The rubber grip has swelled and fallen off but the tool keeps working. Some of the more powerful m12 tools like the right angle impact and the compact 3/8 impact really benefit from the 4.0 battery. True and fair comparisons have to have similar battery voltage and amp-hour ratings. The Milwaukee ratchet would have been more compact and given different numbers had the 2.0ah batteries been used. The price of the ratchet with two 2.0 batteries is also much cheaper giving it more value per dollar.

Dude has a knack for picking tools we are actually considering. Think I'll wait longer on ratchet, ratcheting a bolt on/off is a non-issue 90% of the time if you take care of things and oil the threads before insertion. It's breaking them free that kills my arms and breaks my ratchets, so I'll wait for a good battery operated solution for that.

we havent really compared torque as thats not really something we value for this specific tool. Its more spining on or off nuts and bolts when we have to take alot on or off of a motor we are repairing, particularly ones in tight spots. If we want high torque we pull out a real impact gun.

This is a great idea! I'd like to see the Milwaukee 2767-20 cordless impact go head to head with the Ingersoll Rand W7152. I know a guy who is a die hard Milwaukee fanboy, and I hated that impact. I used his multiple times and it was heavy, bulky, 2 power settings only, straight on angle caused the battery to go against wheels, and the light sucked. Myself being a horse of a different color, I chose the IR W7152 because of its overall design and features. It's lighter, smaller overall length of the head nose to back, the halo light is awesome with 4 different settings, and can be used as a work light for 10 minutes in the neutral position (definitely handy under a vehicle). Also, the angle of the head helps keeps the battery end from contacting wheels when removing lug nuts, and I like the 4 different power level settings. Battery charger takes around 45 to 60 minutes to fully charge the dead 5.0ahr battery which really surprised me. The charger also has a built-in USB port for mobile device charging. It also seems to have better balance and ergonomics. IR claims 1500ft lbs reverse, vs Milwaukees 1400. I think other channels have covered this though, but I'm unsure if they were as comprehensive as PF is!

Well, at least what consumers reports claimed in their mission statement. I believe there was a lot more native advertising within their publication then they would like to admit.

    PF,
Excellent work as always. In a way You're kind of like a Dad. After all, where do most guys learn about tools from?....their Dad. However, you cut out any bias and show scientific, unbiased proof of what's on the market. Not only that, your videos are straight to the point. You waste no time in your videos. Clear, concise, quick and no BS. I love your channel and have been subscribed for some time now. Thank you for all the work that you do.

We use a Milwaukee with a 2 amp hour battery on our snowmobile race team. I use it most of the time as opposed to regular ratchets. I charge it about once every two weeks during race season. A great tool.

I have the Milwaukee and like it quite a bit, but of the four you tested the Pro Stormer impressed me the most. It's competitive with the Milwaukee at a fraction of the price.

Nice comparison. I've own the Milwaukee for several years and I love it. It's my most used tool in the garage.
