This could be useful for a value that is repeated a lot but perhaps an additional extra step for something that is less repeated. We currently use manual text for drawing numbers etc so while it may save some time to change the field, I can easily forsee someone asking where to change the field.
Or you could've made the string of text in less steps. This video does not show how to create or use custom fields at all because a field needs to pull data from somewhere to auto update

Are custom fields drawing specific or program specific? Also how do I get custom fields on multiple computers?
