    Good information, on my switch the plastic piece cammed out so the lever wouldn't turn the rotary switch. Glued it and it works fine.

    Yeh that was pretty cool. I agree and thought the same as you seeing those holes after you mentioned about not seeing any other springs, and seeing Rust.its really a tell tail sign.
    What you mention totally makes sense. The springs may have even been smaller than the springs in your military skill raft ink pens ide say? That’s probably going to be most anyone’s first time ever seeing inside one of these also. Thanks Garrett.

    The two parts you were looking at that you thought looked like springs maybe once actually were springs maybe once. Lol 😆
    The holes for the springs should actually be the same size they're probably just filled full of debris and rust.
    Before you begin it is good to have both switches in the off position before disassembly so they don't fly apart. Then look and see where all the contacts are located before letting any of the releases for the switches out. Then release the center of the loan flat metal clip that holds them in and carefully remove it without breaking the center pin that holds it in place that is plastic. Then you can turn the knobs and carefully release the pressure off them and if you hold it upside down everything will stay in place as you take it off and remove it. Each knob works that way. You will notice for each knob to little black plastic clips that in the off position hold the assembly from falling apart as you disassemble.
    Use this method and maybe put up a video to show the arrangement of the contacts because mine was taken apart previously and I don't remember where the contacts go in the correct order.

    Thanks for the vid. Never opened a "newer" one before. Definitely different innards from the old.

    You need a wide lens camera.

      @@ribatww yeah. At the time I was just using my phone. That's what I've done for the majority of my videos.

    Do you know which two pins we test for continuity to test the circuit breaker?

      I can't remember. I just check the breaker itself with the meter with the switch opened up.

    I changed my Master light switch with a new one on my 1970 M35A2 after I accidentally grounded out the power wire on the headlights but my headlights still will not come on, any idea's?

    • @tacticalrepair
      @tacticalrepair  2 роки тому +1

      Either both bulbs are bad ( not uncommon) or there is a short to ground in the headlight circuit.
