This stuff is great, thank you!
very helpful---thanks!
You said your subs were 5k but when I watched it, your subs were 21k. Not bad, Gandalf--er, I mean, Chris. I just discovered you so forgive the free association but was thinking "this guy is like a combo of Jeff Goldblum and Mr. Rogers!", which you should take as flattery because they're a couple of my favorite people ever. So yeah I smashed like and subscribe. Let me know if you have a Patreon. I'm sooo hungry for knowledge of modal interchange.
Really loving all of your videos about modal modulation including your fantastic short piano videos! Thanks for explaining this concept in more detail!
Literally infinite possibilities from such a simple concept... brilliant insights as always Chris !
your melody kind of reminded me of Oh Shenandoah!
This A to Ab modulation that's displayed first as a pentatonic is the beginning of Daydreaming by Thom Yorke
Outstanding video, great to watch
thank you! so cool
Exciting possibilities! As mainly a guitarist this is gonna be fun to try out!
i've recently seen a guitarist demo a scale exercise using modal modulation here on youtube. he approaches it from a conventional modal angle but the result is the same. it's a powerful way to really get to know the fretboard or keyboard. wherever you find yourself in a tune or on the neck, you'll be ready to play in key.
It’s kinda a phrase modulations.. just adopting to the notes of a target scale. Right? Thnx bro
How would you recommend going about practicing this systematically on keys?
2 notes in each hand around the circle of 5ths. Then 3 & 2. Then 3 & 3. Etc. any systematic key rotation would work of course but the circle will change just one note at a time.
2:42 Balinese scale?
It’s not the Slendro or Pelog scales , but I’m no expert
