NICE! First vid I ever saw making pie crust look EASY! It is! I make pies all the time. The more practice the better. I fold over my crust a few times too! Makes it FLAKIER! 👍👍👍🥰
So im going put my shortening in the fridge from now on!! I usually keep xtra butter 🧈 in the freezer, I grate the butter like you would cheese!! Easy pease when frozen!!
@@TorqueMonsterAWD Yes, but it makes excellent pie crusts, and keeps it from getting too brown. She used only a little. I make mine the same way. Have for years.
Why ch is wild because pie crust is literally the easiest and cheapest thing you can make from scratch and t cheese s 1000x better than store bought. Personally I do an all butter crust, I just prefer it to shortening - but either way it’s a major improvement over store bought.
I started using Einkorn, an ancient wheat, for pie crust and other pastry doughs, its much lower in gluten than regular flour so you get a flakier crust.

Best F’in Pie crust I’ve ever had. The EXACT flaky buttery crunchy pie crust texture that makes pies so appealing to me. All the dopamine that motivated me to put this together exploded and multiplied ten times over when it came together and tasted JUST RIGHT. An Actual FoodGasm. Thank you, Mam.

I love your videos. Always straight & to the point. You know you’re a success when other shorts try to copy your style. Every time I see someone trying to copy your style I chuckle to myself & think you’ll never get to where she is until you find your own style & do your own videos.
I've always made pie crust from scratch! Thank you for teaching others how to! Omg the difference between scratch and this awful frozen or pre made ones is amazing to say the least! BRAVO!! Bon Appetít!
I've been making crust forever and found that shortening made the best pie crust. I tired everything, even your recipe but nothing beat shortening. It doesn't really matter if the water is ice cold like when using butter and so imo, it's just a simpler recipe too. ☺
Wow! I watched several before this one and you were very clear - to the point. Looks very doable and can't wait to try this. Thanks for clear instructions.
What..flour from your drawer? Is there a way to store your flour on your where it doesn't go bad? Is it a specialty made drawer? Anyway, great tutorial!
I started making my own crust this past year and I will never go back to anything frozen or store bought again. So delicious and worth the little extra effort. “You can do it, y’all”
Perfect demonstration, not drawn out, no waffling..... thank you

Wow! This is the easiest method I’ve ever seen explained! Thank you
...exactly the way Granny taught me in the 1950's.
I've substituted unflavored coconut oil for the shortening, and I find no difference.. Bonus: coconut oil us healthier for you..
Yes, vegetable shortening is pure Trans fat.

Actually, coconut oil isn't better than shortening. It's the same difference
@@sanfordpress8943 cold pressed first round coconut oil from a reliable source is the same as shortening?! 🤔🥸interesting...

Love the way u say "butta," lol 😊
a little sugar in that makes the crust very good

Can you add sugar to the crust so the crust is sweeter? Or will this mess up the crust?
