Metal Slug 5 final boss + Gundam + Touhou + Mario = epicness
Also gunstar heroes
and Donkey Kong 3 because of the bug spray
For those curious,
The weapon Mario is using in this fight is originally from Donkey Kong 3 (Arcade, 1983).
The "HERE COMES THE CLIMAX" text at the start of the fight is a reference to Golden Silver, the final boss of Gunstar Heroes.
The design of Climax is supposed to be a reference to the original Mobile Suit Gundam (the head ornament gives it away).
Pretty sure the robot voice when the missiles launch says "CRUSH KILL AND DESTROY".

It's also heavily inspired on the Final Boss from Metal Slug 5
I noticed that
it forgot swag though...
Somehow, and I repeat *SOMEHOW* I misheard the robot at first as "CHRIST WILL END THIS STORY".
I figured that couldn't possibly be right. Thank you for clearing it up for me. xD

Apparently, Mario with bug spray, as said bug spray seems to be capable of damaging metal.
All this custom and amazing things that has happened in this boss battle makes me think this is the best rom hack I have saw by far
That's such a good boss battle design, wish that it had more animations, but I understand that must be hard animate using the .smw

Who else came here after watching Barb struggle with this? Was fun to watch him and his reactions though. I had to leave barb's stream in the middle of the fight and wanted to see how Gundam battle ended. This was a near perfect run only taking damage 2 or 3 times. Good job! Edit: Also, HAPPY 420 DAY!!!

How beatable is this boss supposed to be without tools? I've gotten to the water part only once, and by the looks of it, that's not even remotely close to the end. Is it even possible?
+Zachary Jones Em... Fighting with this boss without tool should be very hard (most of its attacks are whole-screen type), but personally I think it is easy to those who can play Touhou project games well XD.
White Black True, though even if you're really good, the sheer amount of endurance needed to do it for 5-10 minutes straight seems a bit extreme.
+Zachary Jones It's after the water part that you start getting midway points so dying at the boss doesn't punish you as badly as you may think.
+Daizo Dee Von Kinda found the midpoint right when I was ready to give up and save scum through the damn thing, but thanks. I didn't think it was even possible to put midpoints in boss fights until this hack.
