  • In this video series, we'll take you through the step-by-step process of building an acoustic octave mandolin from scratch. We'll be using a hybrid approach, combining the precision and efficiency of a CNC machine with the craftsmanship and personal touch of hand tools.
We'll start by selecting the wood and creating a blueprint for the mandolin using CAD software. Then, we'll use a CNC machine to cut out the body and neck of the instrument with precision and accuracy. Next, we'll use hand tools to refine and shape the various components, such as the headstock, fingerboard, and soundboard.
Throughout the video series, we'll share tips and tricks for achieving a beautiful and functional instrument, including how to sand and finish the wood properly and make custom tuning machines to fit the custom-slotted peghead of this instrument. Whether you're an experienced woodworker or just starting out, this video series will provide valuable insights into instrument making. Join us on this exciting journey as we bring this unique and beautiful instrument to life!
