I really enjoyed your projects and it's so lovely to see more people spinning and using your handspun. I am currently working on the travellers shawl too! I'm using my handspun from my advent 2024 and am loveling it. I also did a combo spin but since I still don't really know what I am doing I didn't get nearly enough yardage.
My parents are from Kassel so I was thinking about going to the yarn festival there in the summer. It would be fun to see you there :)

I’ve actually had „automatic chapters“ set on but they don’t seem to be working! I‘ll implement manual chapters in my upcoming video later today, it’s just an extra step in editing but if it helps, Imm happy to do it! so thank you all for the feedback! ❤

Marlene, I love your podcasts! I think I said before I can listen to you and knit for hours. Hard to pick favorites but the Mudo sweater is at the top of the list. It came out beautifully. I was knitting the Color Wash blanket by Purl Soho while listening. A super relaxing knit with linen quill held double. The fabric it produces feels buttery but rustic at the same time. I am knitting on at cowl for my boyfriend. I finally convinced him after 3 years. I have one thin fabric one he uses when he rides motorcycle and didn't think he needed another. After he was sick last week and used the fabric one all week, he saw the use for it! 😍 That meant I had to buy some yarn and start knitting at once he told me I was allowed to make it! I love knitting for that man, and he loves too. He is very particular and doesn't want me to knit something he is unsure he will actually use 💕
that sounds like such an intentional way of going about knitting something for someone ☺️

Also, I'm knitting my squares for the blanket smaller/less stitches than the pattern states so that's definitely contributing to the length of time it takes for me to knit just one square 😅 your color palette is just beautiful!
me too, it’s going to be such a beautiful piece I think and I‘m excited to see which colors you’ll pick ☺️ I know you mentioned that and I shouldn’t be comparing myself/ my knitting pace to anyone else 🫢 I was just stunned at how long they took in the beginning, you would think it’s a scrappy project and not very much yarn to knit up, but it’s a slow craft at the end of the day and I can appreciate that too 💛 thank you!

Working on some Long draw woolen spun while watching! Exciting to hear you getting into spinning so much. That browny-blue fiber you have is absolutely dreamy and I'm excited to see it all spun up (especially with the barber poling)

I was knitting the Puro Cardigan byt Rui Yamamuro while watching your wonderful podcast. I was so excited to have found this pattern. I had a sweater in this shape many years ago that I lost. I'm excited to be able to knit one for myself.

I bought the Mudo pattern as soon as I saw it in your previous podcast. I was so excited because yours was so inspiring. I was looking for a suitable yarn for it but I wasn´t able to do so in my stash, so I have put it aside until I can find a perfect combo yarn like yours. Now that I have heard you talk about the issues in the pattern, I`m a little bit less enthusiastic to give it a start as it would be my first colorwork project (I knitted colorwork before, but I wasn´t a conscious knitter at that time).
Apart from the modifications I made and talked about, which you could also easily plug in, I would really recommend the pattern - the only downside truly is the puckering which doesn’t quite completely blocks out because of the increases, but I still like to wear it so I hope you’ll make it too 💛

I am currently working on knitting the “Distance Scarf” by Olga Putnam in a Coast to Coast fingering weight yarn held double with a skein of Emma’s Yarn in marvelous mohair and absolutely loving the design along with the softness and squishiness of the yarns. ❤

Danke für die schöne Podcastfolge, Marlene🥰 Ich finds total super, dass du, wie in diesem Fall mit dem Mudo Sweater, sowohl das Muster und auch das Garn kritisch beurteilst und auch sagst, wie das Garn nach ein paar Mal tragen aussieht und sich auch langfristig macht. Das ist richtig hilfreich, vor allem, wenn man einschätzen möchte, wie viel Geld man in bestimmte Garne hineinstecken möchte;) Sehr schöne Projekte hast du auch grad auf den Nadeln bzw. fertiggestellt. Es ist total inspirierend, was du alles schaffst, zu stricken und wie du deine Projekte planst🤗 Ich habe letztens All Of Us Strangers im Kino gesehen und der Film war auch total schön (auch wenn er mir das Herz gefühlt 10 mal gebrochen hat😅), der könnte dir sicher auch gefallen!

Eine schöne Podcastepisode! Bei mir ist schon (oder auch immer noch, da es halbfertig überwintert hat) das erste Sommertop auf den Nadeln. Meistens habe ich bisher die gleichen Garne wie in der Anleitung verwendet und fange jetzt an ein bisschen zu experimentieren. Mich würde interessieren, was eigentlich DK/Worsted/Fingering bedeutet und welches Garn sich aus deiner Sicht gut für welche Art von Projekt eignet? 🙃
Hey, danke und ich versteh dich total, mir juckt es auch schon gaaanz leicht in den Fingern, mal wieder bald ein T-shirt anzuschlagen!
Diese Begriffe beziehen sich auf die Garnstärke - da gibt es quasi eine Tabelle/Kategorisierung und Lace ist das dünnste und Super Bulky das dickste Garn. Dazwischen liegen fingering, Sport, DK, Worsted, Aran usw. - das ganze wir anhand der Lauflaenge auf 50 bzw 100gr festgemacht, Lace hat zB um die 800 Meter, Fingering um die 400 und DK um die 200-250 - gerne werden ja auch Fingering und Lace kombiniert und ergeben dann etwa ein DK. Weiterhin hat dies natürlich auch einen Effekt auf deinen Gauge, die Maschenprobe und Garne kommen meist mit Nadel-Empfehlungen, wobei man dies natürlich auch ändern kann um einen festeren oder luftigeren Stoff zu erhalten - da orientieren wir uns lieber an dem, was die Anleitung empfiehlt. Sommertops habe ich schon zwischen Fingering bis Worsted Stärke gesehen, darüber wären sie mir persönlich auch zu dick.. Winterpullis haben meist eine Stärke zwischen Sport und Aran, auch darüber wird es mir meist zu dick, dass man es drinnen kaum tragen kann, wenn die Heizung an ist. Ich hoffe das hat ein bisschen geholfen, da gibt es wirklich viel zu lernen und entdecken - zumal ja dann auch alle noch unterschiedlich (fest oder locker) stricken usw. ☺️
