Very interesting. I had no idea that the egg had a fiberglass gasket. What the heck? Never seen it on my friends Egg. I wonder if theirs came with one and they didn’t even knew they were supposed to install it. I’ll send them the video. Anyway, time to buy my own. Thanks Capitan.
I bought a used MiniMax a few months ago and it needs a new gasket. I've been terrified to change it. I think you've given me enough courage to take a crack at it. Thanks for another awesome video! #ToTheRefrigerator
Great to meat you at Hartville a few Saturdays ago! This video on gaskets is one of the many that have helped me so much with my XL! Our broken base has been replaced and the XL is in its new home on our deck. That deck box is LOADED with Fogo Black!
You should make a video on how to clean and care for the BGE cast iron accessories! Specifically the huge half circle griddle/grate that sit in my closet because its impossible to care for!! They're great when you need them but I dont use them as often as I'd like because they're SO HARD to get grime off of.
Great video and excellent tips. Looks too easy with the small Egg though. I'd love to see how you handle doing this on an XL Egg. Mine are so heavy, I don't dare remove the cover.
The individual parts are not quite so heavy. I just made a video that will come out soon that shows how to replace the base on an XL BGE. We removed the dome for it.
Thank you for being such a great griller and your instructional videos are as good as your cook videos. How often should you replace the gasket or is it as needed?
I wish I had seen this a year ago when I did my Mini Max’s gaskets. I took the bands completely off and stained my Challenger Table with acetone. So much easier than the route I went. I wonder if it’d work the same on an XL?
What are the benefits of this gasket material over the other types like the oven gasket material done in an earlier video and the new gasket material that is on a KJ Series III? Anyone used the KJ Series III gasket material on a GE yet?
Great video. I've got some leaks in my gasket. Last night was doing a cook but the temp kept climbing, even after I closed off the top and shut the bottom inlet. And waiting a while. Could a leaky gasket cause that?
Who else is here because they were worried about Ninja and did a deep dive to find an obscure reddit post mentioning that he could be heard off camera in this video.
So rewarding when it’s all done and working good as new
Yes sir, you are exactly right
We hope that you find this helpful!!

I need to redo mine, thanks for the refresher. Take care.
You are very welcome.
This whole process is simple and can be done quickly too!
You certainly proved that to be correct
Great Job Capt. Ron
Hey Scott, thanks my man!
I'm due for this on my Med. Thanks for again making everything BGE so simple to understand!
Our pleasure! The process is the same, no matter what size Egg you're working with

Do it Ryan, you will be so proud of your accomplishment! The fridge comment puts you at the top of my list by the way!

Hey Bill! That was one great day for sure! #FOGOorNoGo

Cast iron can definitely be a labor of love
@@FOGOcharcoal I care for a lot of cast iron stuff, the BGE cast iron things are on another level of difficult
Well this video sealed the deal! 😂
Get her done....
Thanks!!!!! you make it easy peeezy!!!! NUTS!!!!
Glad to help

Thank you John. My friend Noodles says to change it as needed......
It's still leaking man. I followed your exact instructions, and my Harley is still losing oil. I gave it a perfect rim job, too!
You always make me laugh!

Hey Tony, sorry to hear that. Yes, the process is definitely the same
Thanks Cap’n, I’m coming up on a burn to clean my XL BGE and this video helps. Is there a difference between the FOGO gasket and the one sold by BGE?
Ours comes with all of the tools to replace it.

This is for those that want to stick with OEM type of equipment. It is really what is made for these grills.
Great video. I've got some leaks in my gasket. Last night was doing a cook but the temp kept climbing, even after I closed off the top and shut the bottom inlet. And waiting a while. Could a leaky gasket cause that?
Yes, that will absolutely cause that.
Was that Ninja yelling at you at the beginning of the video? 😂
Yes! He always yells at me. He is mean. LOL. He's a good friend
Put him on camera with you! We need him to hit us with another Deeeeeeeeeelicious!
Thank you for the video. Can ypu ask ninja to post an update on his channel? He has many fans. Thanks
Tell Ninja we miss him 😢
No problemo

LOL, no need to worry, Ninja is doing just fine. He is no longer putting out bbq content though.
You should replace the nuts. They won't lock well.
Not a bad idea....
