    These are the best looking Prestige racquets in a long time, looks like they took the cue from Wilson's Pro Staff cosmetics. I've been a Wilson guys for decades and currently play Pro Staff 97 v13 frames but absolutely want to try these asap! Great vid.

    Thank you for the review Jonas. I’m a Prestige Pro Player, and if they are similar to the previous generation, going to hold on on it. I like the new paint job, but I also like the red that the 360+ has, since I used to play with the 2014 Graphene Prestige Pro with the red/black cosmetic. I think experimenting with strings to suit my game style on my 360+ will be a bigger upgrade than buying the new generation.

I think im going to make the move as i found i could hit a more varied shots... easy to rip it high with spin or hit and angle. Maybe plow through isn't as good... so i might add lead.

    One thing I needed to do is probably put new strings in it are used it was standard the red one and they’re bit loose but I loved it it was a great racket low power out of there 98 in.² head I like 120 g MP better it’s just a more powerful racket but sometimes if I haven’t trained I want something with a smaller head until I build back up to reduce the stress cause I might not be pro Nading sometimes until I get the rhythm the smaller head purchases Stress on the giants I saw was definitely in the racket bag even though it’s red read to me means it’s a bit lighter kind of thing I love you were keep me posted

    Regarding QC issues: a guy with a lot of experience buying racquets calls TW and asks for the lightest racquets that they have in inventory and then has them customized up to his specs. I think that's the best way to do it. When you go to sell them, the next buyer can do the same thing. Not much you can do with a racquet significantly over spec.

    These swing weight issues are just ridiculous. The retailers should check all their frames and just send back those that aren't within a "reasonable" range. When you buy a racquet online, hardly any vendor has an open comments field where you could at least ask them to not send you an off-spec frame. I know there are matching services but they're most used when buying multiple frames. And why on earth should I pay extra to get a frame that's aligned with the marketed specs? Just keep raising this issue Jonas!

    How is the new Prestige MP compared to the Pro Staff v13? I’ve been playing with the Pro staff for the last 5 years but I’m finding it a bit difficult to play with it now. I’m in my mid 50s and I’m struggling with my Pro Staff at the net and I can’t always get myself into position with my knees problems. As much as I love my Pro Staff I think I need something more forgiving and easier to hit with. I’m thinking Blade v8 or the Prestige MP. I like feel and control over power. I like to volley.

    • @fordinner
      @fordinner 2 роки тому +2

      Hi. I've had an extensive demo of the new MP, and own the PS v13. MP is a good frame, volleys very well, but the higher swingweight makes it trickier to swing over time (i'm in shape mid 30's and it's just too much after an hour and a bit). Affects the serve too. In terms of more forgiving and easier to use for a flatter style, check out the Prestige MP L. Compared to the PS, it's a fair bit more forgiving (99sqin, same mould as MP, 16x19, 300g), more manueverable from all areas of the court, still plenty of control. Overgrip gives it more power, i prefer stock. Give it a demo, it's a real gem as a lighter players racquet, better than the PS97L for sure.

    To me it was a very good racket I love the feel I need to make our Per stage 98 MP with the 16/19 string pattern with a 98 in.² head no bigger head than that and go smaller the 16 x 19 will give it a bit more top spin and that’s all that needs is 16 x 19 where is 93 inches Head it’s okay it’s kinda like the light weight of the MP 98 anyhow love them both I think they’re 95 in.² head is an improvement on the new one probably wouldn’t go any smaller than 95 but 98 is game on and 93 I’m gonna keep it’s a good alarm for the collection and I do enjoy using it but like I said it’s like the light weight even though it is 315 I look it’s okay and something different to me it’s a bit of a light weight I take it out for a social match how far is playing against a hard hitter are definitely grab the 98 I’ve just use it for service I’ve done a few forehand and then 19 x 16 is definitely an improvement photo of Spain so how do you know what you’ve gotta Do is 98 with 16 x 19 string pattern and that will be perfect

    On a side note, I love HLT but it doesn't at all perform same in my PMP+ as in my Gravity Pro. Adds a lot of vibrations in Prestige I feel which is very unfortunate as it is a great string otherwise.

    Hey Prestige Heads! Please can someone help me? I’ve had the prestige line for c.15 years and love them. Most recently I had the head prestige 360+ mp and loved it- sadly, a stringer broke it in the machine and although he kindly replaced it with a the ‘21 Auxetic Prestige pro, I just can’t seem to get the same amount of topspin and am hitting a lot of shots/kick serves long. Really infuriating! Especially as I love the look and feel of it in my hand. Can anyone either recommend a good string set up for spin, or perhaps a similar racket with similar weight and thin beam etc that feels the same but can generate more spin? Otherwise I’ll have to just hunt around for the mp 2019 versions again- thanks!

    I think they should just make 1619 and 320 g 98 in.² head I think they would have a spot on I’m is the weight With 320 g and have to be called a pro anything over 315 I have an 310 it’s starting to hit events of the sea with 98 in.² head that’s pretty much a small as you can go without affecting the power too much

    95 I don’t think I’ll have much problem but it would wrap black power hasn’t got as much trampoline as a 98 and these days I think you need at least a 98 scream inches Hundred gets a bit much don’t use it any more just cause the injury issues

    I love the feel and power level of the Gravity Tour, but would like more maneuverability and a bit higher launch angle. Speed MP way too powerful. Any of these a contender? Not sure if the new MP or MP Lite?

    Sucks the mid is gone. I understand from a business standpoint but come on. The Prestige was all about the 93/90 head size. I’m glad I picked up the outgoing mid. I’ll most likely pick up another as I’m transitioning from Yonex.

    Crazy that they’re still not addressing the QC issue at €250+ MSRPs. That’s why the likes of Angell have a place in this market.

    • @Tennisnerd
      @Tennisnerd  2 роки тому

      Hi Nate, the Pro is slightly plusher than the Prestige MG Pro, 18x20 vs 16x19, 98 sq inch head size vs 95. So quite different. But both racquets are low-powered overall and I like both sticks. The MG Pro is not the best for double-handers because of its short handle.

    18 nine teen should give a bit more top spin which I think it needs to be a little bit more user-friendly but I find the MP which really is a pro who did that anyway is raw and he’s probably one of the best rackets of ever used besides of Federer I’ve got one of his old ones at 95 in.² head I love it but I’ve gotta omit the MP head well it’s a bit more up-to-date and I also use the Mantis 95 in.² head and a 215 g I’ve got a 205 fantastic something different and obviously it can’t compete with the position always chasing the weight I am I’ve started off at 300 g and now 320 g plus strings comfortable with that delivers enough power to deliver over 200 K shot I think you could probably get to 10 out of it after that I think you’ll need something heavier like the Federer I think if you can head to 220 230 That’s not much more needed than that but you definitely need to have a stick and 320 g and to be very silent to JIM for a good period the Mantis is a great racket putting it out there it’s deserves every bit

      @@hameedn.b7004 No, haven't played with the prestige mp l. I playtested the prince phantom 100 x 305 and head gravity tour to replace the wilson clash. I bought the prince phantom 100 x 305 because I really really liked it and now 4 months later I still think it's an amazing racquet. Good control, controllable power, easy to slice, nice on the serve and really comfy on the arm. I also like the lower launch angle compared to wilson clash. For me it's the best racquet I have played with so far. The racquets I have played with or tested some period: Babolat pure drive, Wilson Burn 100, Prince textreme 100 p (also good choice but prefer the phantom), Head radical mp, Head gravity tour, Wilson Blade 98 18x20 cv (long time racquet of choice), Wilson Clash 100. I was also interested in the yonex vcore (pro) line but was not able to test it. Maybe I will some time to compare. But for now the phantom is great. I play with Hyper-G soft / wilson revolve @23 kg. I will try full bed of hyper G soon.

    100 in.² are used to use the Djokovic racket and I don’t like 100 in.² are used it for a long time and it gave me a lot of vertebrae issues because 100 in.² head if you’re using the racket correctly I feel is for tour player somebody about 5.8 98 in.² is plenty and if you’re shorter and 95 in.² the old Federer rackets that’s all they were is 95 in.² I love playing with it if you’re skilful or you can play by textbook hitting the sweet spot even though 95 in.² shouldn’t be any problem so I find adding weight and a smaller head is much better the bigger head does give you more power but I think you have to be tall otherwise I think you’ll be more accurate with a smaller head easier than control and lighter on their wrist too big of a head on your racket if you’re not Novak Djokovic with his kinda height iPhone can cause you a lot of injuries so 98 in.² perfect enough power and enough accuracy

      RPM Blast is a pretty stiff string, maybe try a softer poly or a hybrid with a gut or syn gut in the mains and a round poly in the crosses

      @@enzoresadorigiovanini7707 you just have to experiment, but yeah any more comfortable poly is a step in the right direction. Hyper G soft, Tour bite soft, maybe lynx tour. Could also be your technique, are you using your bodyweight for power or just muscleing the ball? Also in my experience adding a little weight to the racket makes it more stable and vibrate less so that helps prevent injury if technique is good

    Thanks for giving us the swingweights of your Prestige racquets. Any chance you could also give us their corresponding strung weight and balance since this would give a better idea of how far off the QC might be?
    If the Prestige MP-L is truly 315mm unstrung balance, it’s likely going to have a sub-315 strung swingweight. I find this hard to believe for a Prestige, even if it’s the tweener model. Willing to bet that it’s a misprint, and far more likely to be 320-325mm unstrung balance.
    (Ok, I know no one cares. No one looking at a Prestige is going to be thinking of the MP-L, unless of course they like the cosmetics!)

    • @jerome_morrow
      @jerome_morrow 2 роки тому

      @@thomaschippendale5503 There’s nothing wrong with a swingweight of 315, and many racquets a decade ago had less polarised, lower SW designs. Play great too, as is the case with your MG PPro. However, higher polarisation designs (with relatively higher swingweights) are currently in fashion. It would seem incongruous for HEAD to make a 315 SW model in their most player oriented silo.

    A 347 swing weight? That's perfect for me - I've adjusted mine down from 365. Just would put on head tape to protect the racket - no need to add lead. There's only one player I know other than me would be happy with a swing weight that high. They definitely will have some unhappy customers doing that.
