Sad to see this eight years later. He was one of the last of a singular generation of singer-songwriters #legend
One of the best songwriters around and a Canadian legend. Gordon Lightfoot can evoke such emotions with his music and words. I love this guy.
George Strombo is probably the best interviewer, journalist out there. Better than even Larry King, or anyone else for that matter, at getting to the core of people. I've got a lot of respect for this guy.
One of the Best songwriters ever , and yes a legend
This is May 2023, and Gordon has passed earlier this month, reminds me that we are all on borrowed time. I love Gordon's music, know that I always will, sing and play guitar to so many of his songs that I will never forget him and his contributions to the music world, which is our best part of Being Human. My condolences to his family, thank you Gordon, 😢😊
❤💔❤💔❤💔❤💔❤💔❤💔❤
Gord is my favorite of all time. He is so much more relaxed and open doing interviews, than he was in the early years.
This proud American loved this man and his music ever since 1970’s “if you could read my mind“! We are so lucky that he is still with us especially after all he’s gone through in his life. I have the same condition that he had that forced his surgery and I am in a much better time to have that surgery.
Thank you from The USA for posting this.
Love him and his music. His music has always been and always will be in a 100% class of its own
I love his music, his voice is so soothing. I never reali,Ed though with they meant to me until my grandchildren were fussing so much, I was getting desperate. I put Gordon's music on & those babies slept peacefully as long as his songs were playing. RIP Gordon, your songs will always be close to my heart!
One of the best song writer the best singer ever have been like the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald that is haunting . Gordon Lightfoot is the greatest singer a live great job keep up the hard work.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Legend.
A national treasure. Listening to his music is like entering a beautiful velvet coccune just you and Gordie
You Can’t Put Words Into Explaining Genius
Mr. Lightfoot is a philosopher, a poet, a songwriter, a talented guitarist, a manager (of his band and entourage), a health-conscious person who exercises regularly, a disciplined person with a strong work ethic, and beyond that, a genius! A remarkable human being.
If you don’t check out his music you don’t know what you’re missing.
Love his music. It does sadden me to see how frail he looks. Father Time is unbeaten.
Lightfoot has always been my favorite singer/songwriter. I enjoy singing his entire songbook, and I try to see him in every concert in New York. But he really looks like hell at this point.
He is older. He has been to the brink with alcohol and with death scare but he is still working still working out. He is a survivor
Who cared what he looked like. He was lucky to be alive after illnesses & bad habits ... RIP Gordon
Yeah."Rainy Day People." That's what I'd pick too. The host interviewing Lightfoot was too young to dig it. I bet he had heard "Rainy Day People" before, but just couldn't hear the rain and visualize the people thru Clements' guitar playing.
My grandmothers sister was married to Terry clements. Her name was Ross (rosslyne) I never got to meet Terry but all I hear is awesome things
I was related to Terry clements. He was married to my moms aunt over in Ontario
i have to say, i didnt like you at fitst but yeh man, i respect you, you dont let these guys off easy
