@@ViolinMDan amazing doctor. As a Hashimotos Thyroiditis patient I'd love to have u as my doctor someday.
I think it's so important that you mentioned how you only film people who have consented to be in your videos, even if they're just in the background. It really shows the level of care and concern you have for everyone at the hospital, not just your patients.
Many healthcare facilities forbid filming, period.
Well, how about the traffic light asking for consent, or the camera on the street watching over people, or all the people in Disney World? Everyone records and doesn't ask for consent. Just my own view on things.
@@lovedfriend2020 … and that goes to show what an extra special person Siobhan is for not doing that doesn’t it?
It’s more of a level of concern about a lawsuit that could be filed, if she did not have their consent
I mean, she has to. Everyone knows healthcare is strict with filming.
Welcome back Siobhan and Mark! It’s good to see you both!
Hey Sofia! Great to hear from you!
You two play violin together!? OMG! Cutest couple ever.
That's what initially connected them. When she first mentioned him - I think it was in a Q&A she said that they met in her 2nd and his 1st year of med school at some kind of party where she lived or something. To introduce herself she'd drawn a violin and he saw it and asked who plays the violin.
I've been here long enough to know that violin was what initially connected the two of you. Feels like an eternity ago.
Great memory! Always so good to hear from you Stina!
An ambulance was once called for me because I was feeling incredibly light headed and couldn't stop shaking. When the paramedics arrived, they checked my blood sugar, and could swear I remember hearing a gasp. Turns out I was severely hypoglycemic. The paramedics debated whether to administer glucagon seeing as they’d never given the shot to someone conscious before, reiterating their disbelief that I was awake. Fortunately, I managed to eat tons of sugar tablets and stabilize, but the thought of enduring a 72-hour fast after a couple seizures is so scary! I hope the girl who went through that is okay now and recovering smoothly.
Maltodextrose does wonders!
Gahhh, I'm actually invested in that patient now! You gotta find out what happened to her! And welcome back!
Yay! I was hoping these would return someday!
I missed watching your videos! They always bring so much joy into my day as your work ethic is amazing, you are extremely caring and well-spoken and I admire that you are so knowledgable!
Thank you so much!
the doctor's orchestra sounds like something i would love to do! I'm a freshman studying neuroscience and I'm also preparing to give my grade 5 violin exams. I had no idea something like this existed!!!
Dr. Deshauer, you are amazing! As a medical student, your videos have been so helpful during my medical education. Ex : just the other day, my teacher told our class of a strange case involving a man with a red rash, swollen legs, joint pain, subdermal hematomas and a restricted diet. I answered : "did the patient have scurvy? And the doctor replied : "yes he did". Thank you for all of your videos Dr. Deshauer!
No way!! Wow this makes my day - well done!! 🙌
I’ve missed your videos so much! I’ve been rewatching your old videos when you were still a resident - and seeing this new video made my day!

Yesss! I love it when violins are part of your vlogs because even though I don't play, it was the reason that my eye caught your early vlogs with an interesting mix of medicine and music.

Loved the update! I think it is great that you show the balance of being a doctor. Even if that balance shifts dramatically from working a lot to having more spare time.

An AMAZING Person and Dr You are
So glad you’re back. Long time fan who loves the style of your videos.
Best Wishes
Thanks Steve!
Always enjoy your interesting cases!
yay! welcome back!
Yay! I've missed these ❤❤
I am so glad your back , girI I miss you . learn a lot from you . ❤❤
I really wish more doctors were like you. Who find cases interesting and wanting to dig deep to find out the cause of the issues a patient is having. So many just want to skip over and move onto the next patient. It’s happen to me so many times and still is. After seeing multiple doctors I have just accepted that this is how it is.
I hope your half & full marathons went/ go well!! ❤ It's funny I still expect to hear "a ... year medical resident" at the beginning of your videos even though it's been a long time now 😄
Thank you!!
Always a great video! 🥳
I have missed your vlogs! Glad there back!!
Yay! I love your vlogs and I am not even in the medical field ❤
you are seriously the best doctor I have ever seen. i absolutely love watching your videos and they have really kept me curious about my own health journey. unfortunately i have not been with the best healthcare and still wondering what is going on with me. you are actually a doctor who digs deeper and wants to find out what's wrong compared to most who just see you once and hope they give you the right answer. if you are able to give a tiny bit of free advice to send me on the right direction i would love to hear back from you. but i am extremely happy to see you back to vlogging and knowing you've kept busy and making positive life choices throughout the time you were gone. :)
As someone with a prolactinoma I appreciate your enthusiasm and passion in ur career so much. Every nurse who has helped me has my full heart because without you guys we have absolutely nothing. Thank you beautiful soul ❤
Hello from Australia. Thankyou for all of the videos that you publish. It’s so interesting to see how crazy a doctors day can be. Hopefully we will get more videos soon. Good luck for your half and full marathons.
Yes! I missed your videos Dr. Shioban
Yay back with the vlogs
SHE IS BACK OMGGGGGGG I AM SO HAPPY I CANNOT WAIT FOR MORE VIDEOS!!!!!!!
Aww you are so sweet!! Thanks Natalia!
Please keep uploading these videos. I have binge-watched all of them twice or more and await the next notification. More please if your schedule permits and thank you!
Hi beautiful Dr!! I used to suffer with hypoglycemia and it got to be a daily issue and what healed it for me was cutting out sugar completely and now I only get it once every few weeks maybe and only if I’m trying to lose weight by fasting it’s been three years now and I have zero cravings for sugar It’s been totally worth it! 🎉
Hi Rosie Austin. I'm a type2 diabetic & my sister was hypoglycemic. We were both told not to eat sugar. Oddly we weren't told to restrict grains or fruit, but we figured that out ourselves. More needs to be done to help people understand how sugar (whether from table sugar, fruit or high carb foods) can affect our health. I don't fast, but I do follow a very, very low carb way of eating and that has helped me to lose weight (85lbs) & become less insulin resistant.
Same here! I also don’t eat grains and I limit fruit.
@rosieaustin9911 It really upsets me when I see a toddler sucking down a giant slushy loaded with a ton of sugar and chemicals. I'm a firm believer that this is the primary reason there are so many young people with health issues.
Your video always have a calming and slow down effect, almost like meditating and emptying the head. Recharge the brain after being able to focus on your vids❤
I really enjoy your videos, very entertaining and learning so much about what a doctor does and how to keep healthy all the time. Your advise is amazing. You for sure need to make more videos, I really really want to see more because they are so enjoyable to watch.
You're back! Missed your videos
Glad your enjoying your new career ❤
Lovely to see you playing in the orchestra and practice together
As a Type 1 Diabetic AND who has a large history (past and present) of seizures, this was so cool to watch!! Seeing things from the inside and kinda opposite of what a T1D diagnosis might be was interesting!! Great to see you again and glad to have you back!!
You make this super complicated career sound so fun & interesting! I’ve watched you for years now, and I have to say that I am so proud of you and how far/where you’ve gotten in life! I love your positivity, your upbeat energy, your professionalism, and your knowledge!! Keep going! ❤️
Love the episode. Great to see you and Mark having some fun and the self driving car was super cool 😎
