It's a wonderfully sad feeling when you have to say goodbye and parts of your life blur past in your mind. You published this literally the moment I got home after having dropped my older sister off at college, but I wasn't able to comment immediately. Anyways, I was wondering, why would Grovyle, you and your partner wait 7 minutes and 5 seconds for a remixed theme to play? . . . . . . And then I realized... It was too awesome to not.
Dialga's Fight to the Finish. It's amazing how truly inspiring one simple theme can be. And yet, so many Mystery Dungeon themes are based off of it, tons of the best remixes are made of it, and the song has become the unofficial theme of the spin-off series. Some themes just grab you and refuse to let go.
This is gorgeous, Ryan! Love the little variations you include on each motif, you make everything flow together so well. Also it sounds much better thought out than all of the other remixes of this theme out there that seem to just be put together in a couple of hours. Keep putting those basic MIDI rippers to shame!
This is probably my favorite song from PMD2. When I got to the point when this starts playing in the game, I just had to sit there for a minute in awe of its majesty. That reminds me, I really need to get around to finishing the game. Anyways, love this remix. It's a very interesting take on the song. I like it!
YES! I love how you keep the original feelings of the song and add an upbeat feel to this nostalgic song! This is one of the best remixes of this song I've ever heard.
You never fail to disappoint. Every time I see a new video in my sub box I think "HAH! NO WAY HE CAN TOP THE LAST ONE!" and then you continue to do so. DAMN YOU E/M! xD
You just made "Sacrifice" that much more amazing. I'm glad you change the original moods in your pieces actually. I think "Sacrifice" shouldn't just stay a "sad" or slow and beautiful song, it could have been faster, to set up the final battle that looms ahead of the main duo. Great job as always, EM, love "Neo Sacrifice" (just gonna call it that, kinda fits actually) !!
Oh this song... I was for the first time kinda worried about how you would do this song, seeing as you delve more into the upbeat, electronic style. But, I can see that my fears were rather unfounded. I don't know how you did it, but I can still get the feels from TTSoT and dance around with my bro Miror B. This is a wonderful remix, in my opinion, and trust me, I play the original song on repeat for days. And this holds true to that song. I think people will find this remix rather... SHOCKING. Yeah, I had to get a pun in there. And oh my goodness, that piano.
If I listen to this without necessarily thinking of the source story, there's like some kind of story that flows into my mind.... *before music* She knew that her very existence was a major threat to everything and everyone that she knew and loved, in spite of that she wished no harm to the world around her. Not even a single memory of her could remain in the minds or even the hearts of even a single person if all was to be good and well in the end. She turned to face the portal that would bring her to the very source of her existence. A world consisting of her memories. A world containing her deepest, closest moral values. The world of her own heart... the very world she had no choice but to wipe from existence if she wanted to protect everyone. She got ready to step forth, but then hesitated. She didn't want to leave and abandon everything... no, to get cold feet then would have practically been to betray everyone. Should she turn around and give her friends who were watching one last smile before she left? No, that would be one more memory to erase later. None of her friends would remember that smile anyway; it would be strictly self-serving and even then not really for she'd have to eliminate it later. She stepped through the portal without as much as a glance towards her friends. She instantly realized that she regretted not looking back to give her friends one last smile, now that the opportunity had come and gone. Her very first memories of any importance came to life in the world that was around her now, looking like a hazy hologram. A hazy dream. She smiled a little for just a moment, then realized she had to focus on destroying everything in this world. The things around her looked like things that were important to her. The people she saw there looked very much like the people close to her heart. But she knew what everything she saw there in that world was; different parts of herself. Different parts of her ironic arch-nemesis. She readied her weapons and... oh. That didn't _quite_ seem to be the way to do it.... It seemed that she would have to literally will these memories out of existence. She would have to will _herself_ out of existence. How could she possibly have such wishes towards memories of such importance to her though? Yet, if she didn't summon up the will somehow or other, the fates her loved ones would meet...! *music starts* 0:00 Suddenly overcome with angst, she could have sworn she felt herself split in two. She looked up to take one more look at the memory playing before her, only to find a very clear-looking spitting image of herself staring at her with a look of bewilderment, shock, awe, and a hint of sadness, weapons raised. A spitting image of herself, reaching for her weapons with resolve. A spitting image of herself, charging at her in grief, almost as if feeling betrayed. As if not understanding why eliminating all of her memories had to be the only way to protect everyone. A spitting image of herself, blocking her attack with understanding and yet now even stronger resolve. Resolve to do the thing that would best protect the real versions of those that she saw around herself in the long run. As more and more memories began disappearing, the battle between her torn emotions and her resolve raged on. The memories in her life covered a wide range of emotions, but her mental clash with herself made physical kept her heart-rate up, and didn't give her any time to pause to process her emotions. Yet her emotions stayed at the front of her mind, deep in her heart, whittling away at her resolve as her resolve burned her innumerable intense emotions away, bit by painful bit. Finally, the world around her had been whittled down to just her final memory. Her memory of failing to take the opportunity to give a group of people a smile. Who were these people? Why was the regret in this memory so strong? She couldn't remember anymore. She felt like she wanted to get to know these people in this memory, yet something in her was telling her to finish what she started. Something was telling her she needed to destroy this memory, though she couldn't remember why. Yet she felt like she wanted to hang on to this memory no matter what. Why though? Who _were_ these people?! Her resolve, carried over from her fight so far, clashed with her curiosity fueled by her residual regret and caring for one final round. Though her curiosity did beat her resolve, it was only by the smallest of slivers. All that was left wasn't even a memory anymore. All that was left... was a feeling of curiosity and great sorrow.
Hylia Faireon Haha, thanks. (: It's not really from anything, and I don't think I was thinking of any particular context when I wrote it. However, there's probably some very general sub-conscious influence from animes I've watched and video games I've played. The animes I typically watch and the video games I typically play all have some theme of friendship and sacrifice in their plotlines. Oftentimes there's tragic character back-stories and even important character deaths (sometimes as a result of a sacrifice on the character's part).
RadiantDarkBlaze K, so can I give this scene to a Fanfiction Author to use in a story? (I would write a story just to use this scene but I can't write.)
Hylia Faireon Ahhhh... haha, well, I'm a writer too (just been far too long since I last wrote anything...), so.... I'm definitely alright with the general gist of that scene being used, as long as enough alterations are made to make the resulting scene very clearly unique and very clearly only inspired by (not directly copied from) that scene. I might want that scene for myself for one of my stories later on and I don't want to be told "hey you ripped off X's fanfic" for using a scene that was originally my content. Again though, I am alright if someone writes a scene inspired by it. (; Oh, and, uh, "but I can't write"? 'Xcuse me? Everyone can write you sillyhead. ;P People who say "oh I can't write" might be in for quite the case of writer's block should they try to write without first telling themselves that they can, but once they tell themselves they can, well, they can. I'll definitely admit nobody writes a top-notch story on their first try, but isn't it the same for any task out there what-so-ever? The first time or try is never the best time or try. So, like, nevermind what the quality of the story is. Just write dammit. ;P Then take in any criticism you get objectively, see what there is that you can improve on, and feel free to make edits to your work. That's the only way anyone improves at _any_ task. I might not know you that well, so I might not be able to name one accurately, but surely there's at least one task that you've gotten really good at over time that you absolutely sucked at the very first time you took a crack at it? Cooking? Other forms of art? Math? Time management? Keeping a conversation going? Surely there's at least one task you've gotten really good at over time. The only way to get to that point with writing is to tell yourself that you can, and then write. Then improve from there based on the criticism you get, whether it's from friends, family, more intelligent and understanding internet folks, or even yourself. Think positive every time you write or think about writing or think about your writing so far. The only person you should ever compete against is yourself. That's true when it comes to writing, and that's true when it comes to everything else in life too. TL;DR: What do you mean you can't write? Yes you can. Start writing and improving at writing already! (;
RadiantDarkBlaze I have tried writing, I didn't enjoy it and I wasn't good at it :) I do have lots of other things I'm good at tho. I have a knack for(and enjoy) coding, even tho I've just started, I'm surprising myself with unexpected skill in painting, and I enjoy and have a knack for decorating C: I'm happy with da skillz I gotz, and I'm friends with some of da best authors ever too(ScytheRider, Expression-Through-Ink) so I don't really mind not being very talented in that particular field. ^u^
I haven't listened to one of your tracks in a while man, but when I saw the title of this one I was instantly drawn to it. You really are going back and bringing up a lot of feels with this one man. This is still one of the best game I have played, and it's been a good while since I played. I think this song has a good representation of the game as a whole, filled with struggle in the hope of bringing about change. As for the music itself, it is a very unique rendition of that song. I guess you get that with dubstep. Still, great job man
Oh man I love your remixes!!! They are so good! You should have like 190000000 subs!!! I especially like your pokemon remixes they are very fun to watch >.
Electricmudkip your channel is so underrated, you should have way more subscribers. All your remixes are truly a masterpiece. Please keep making more awesome remixes
Holy.... had goosebumps throughout the whole thing, I swear! ^^ Epic beginning of course! One question though: I asked some people about Vast Ice Mountain Peak, and they told me, that it was really difficult to remix that one. What do you think about it? Love your work, keep it up!! Especially Primal Dialga was simply amazing! :D
Even though its all energetic, I can still hear the parts that make me think this song nastolgic xD I cant believe PMD2 came out in 2008, I remember being in japan back then. it was in in Japanese first but I waited for the english version
Jackson Vance Haha, that's really flattering dude. ^^ I know I deviate a lot from each respective source material in my mixes and thusly don't always make the most accessible music (especially when I change sub-genres often!), but I do hope I can continue to please you with my future works! :D Thanks again for your feedback, it was much appreciated.
DUDE I JUST I LOOK AT THIS AND IM JUST LIKE YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS AND IM LISTENING TO THIS AND IM LIKE YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! WHY HASNT THIS BEEN DONE SOONER XD
Holy shit this is great ^_^. POKEMON PARTY! You really good at this, how long have you been remixing stuff? I dislike most remixes but you always include great new melodies, it's really awesome! It's the perfect balance between "remix and dancing style" and the original song. On a side note a question: Have you considered remixing Naraku no Hana? (higurashi kai opening) I'm still stunned by how awesome your Higurashi remix was (definitely one of the best remixes ever made in my opinion) and I think you could create an awesome song with naraku no hana, too. (Although you can probably remix the shittiest song there is and make it sound awesome). Props to you, you are fucking great. I'm looking forward to your future tracks!
Thank you very much! ^^ I've been remixing for nearly three years now, with the actual date coming up soon. Well, I guess I technically took that big step from MIDI copy & pasting to full-fledged remixes in November, but regardless I suppose we all start somewhere--and September just happens to be that "somewhere" for me, haha. I'm glad you enjoy the way I structure my remixes, and it's flattering to hear that I might be an exception for you in the world of remixers. :) Onto your side note question: I actually have. To be honest, I might like Naraku no Hana more than Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (the opening theme, not the show. I know, it's confusing that they have the same name. :P), so who knows, dude. It's totally not out of the realm of possibility that I might tackle that theme one day! The only thing I can think of that might really hinder me in regards to remixing that theme is that to remix an anime related theme I need an at least somewhat clear version of the vocals to work with, and I haven't tested whether or not I can snag the vocals of Naraku no Hana yet. If I can't, well… but if I can, I don't see why not. It's only a matter of time at that point. Thank you again, and I hope I can continue to provide music that you enjoy! :D
Yes, I like your remixes a lot although I'm not that into Pokemon music (I mean I like it in the games but I don't actually listen to it) you still create wonderful pieces out of it. I too prefer the Kai opening! You should definitely remix it someday, your Higurashi remix was INCREDIBLE (I have to say it again, I really love it) and I believe a Kai remix might be even able to top it. I have a 320 kpb mp3 version of the full Naraku no Hana song I once ripped of a cd from a friend (having a Japanese best friend sure has it's benefits) thus if you can't find a good version tell me! I even have the instrumental, too ^^. (In japan there's always a karaoke version on every disc) Now excuse me I've got a Pokemon Party to attend *starts remix*
Nnnnnnnnnngh this is so epic, thank you for making this yaaaaay! Also, could you take a suggestion and remix C.R.O.W.N.E.D from Kirby's Return to Dreamland? I think you would absolutely rock the place if you did!
Haven't played PMD2 so I'm not as familiar with this song. Come to think of it, a lot of your recent work has been tracks I'm not familiar with... but one thing is for sure: All PMD games have great music, and this remix certainly emphasizes that. Nice work as usual, and keep it up.
Sorry about that, man. ^^;; I'm not trying to alienate you, I swear! xO I unfortunately will probably be making a remix or two more that you might not know the source from, but hopefully soon I can make something you're more familiar with. In the mean-time though, I'm glad you gave this remix a shot and happened to enjoy it. I appreciate the feedback as usual! :D
GigaPurpleCheeseMan Aww... that's too flattering. I have a hard time agreeing with that, but thank you, though. xD You're awesome yourself, man. You nearly always provide feedback, and it's always great to see your opinions on any given work. :D Keep being you, you!!
So THIS was the 'PMD2 work' you were working on! What's even more ironic than that, you talked about it after I asked you to critique mine! Funny how things work out. I can't stop laughing.....this is too great. The exact same piece, although our two versions were VERY different. Did you use mine as an idea base or something along the lines? :D Anyhoo, great job as usual, and keep on keepin' on!!
Hahaha, yep! :) I kind of alluded to the fact that I was remixing the exact same song as you did, as well--I was wondering if you caught on to that! xD I didn't necessarily use your composition as a base for my ideas or anything because I was already working on this one when you contacted me about your own arrangement, but I did I suppose get a little inspired with the idea of using a piano when I listened to what you made. :) Glad you enjoyed the mix, dude! :D I appreciate the feedback!
Hahaha, yeah that wasn't necessarily intentional but I can definitely see the resemblance because I used a similar style kick in this remix when compared to the one used in Shoal Cave, and it was used in a similar pattern, as well. Not to mention, the kick used in this remix is also hitting on the same key as the one in the Shoal Cave remix. … Yeah, that's a lot of similarities. My bad. :L Hope it wasn't too distracting!
WOOOOO! MOAR MYSTERY DUNGEON! Also, you used one of my favorite pieces of official art for this, because my EoSky team was Eevee/Riolu and they've taken a very strong hold in my fanverse. :D Love the varying tempos you used in this; it keeps a listener entertained throughout the song. You also utilized the original melody well; it's recognizable, but remixed enough to be unique. On a slightly different note, what version of Logic do you use? I'm considering getting the latest version, and I was wondering if you had any tips and tricks from your experience.
Thanks a lot man! :) I'm glad you were pleased with this one, hahaha. I use both Logic Pro 9 & Logic Pro X, but I've been mainly using 9 because X doesn't allow the usage of 32-bit plugins, and some of the plugins that I use often are unfortunately restricted to that. So yeah, word of advice--if the plugins you're using only have 32-bit versions, don't buy Logic Pro X until 64-bit versions of said plugins are released by their respective developers. xD I unfortunately haven't been using X enough to really give more advice, though--sorry about that. ^^;;;
Thanks! :) And I make remixes with the programs Logic Pro 9 & Logic Pro X (though only one of them is necessary at any given time), they're both for Mac. A PC equivalent is Fl Studio.
EM you should do a remix of a song from Smash bros, since the upcoming game of course. ye should pick one of yer fav songs from that franchise. Also this remix was awesome
I definitely should, and I've been toying with the idea of remixing a SSB song for a long time now. Hopefully I can get to that sometime soon! :) Also, thank you!
Spin off game music that deserves a remix from someone on yt: Pokemon typing boss battle theme Pokemon mystery dungeon Wiiware town theme Pokemon ranger GS raikou/entei/suicune theme Pokemon trading card game online almost winning theme someone add more to this list
TheMelodyGames Hmmm, I'll keep it in the back of my head, but for now I can't come up with anything I could potentially do to transform it into a remix. It's not the most melody-driven PMD theme, see. :P
'Through The Sea of Time' is probably one of the only songs that has ever made me cry ;_;
It's a wonderfully sad feeling when you have to say goodbye and parts of your life blur past in your mind. You published this literally the moment I got home after having dropped my older sister off at college, but I wasn't able to comment immediately. YES! I love how you keep the original feelings of the song and add an upbeat feel to this nostalgic song! This is one of the best remixes of this song I've ever heard.
I was doing the dishes when I first heard this and I had to stop to dance. This is so amazing, good job!
When I listen to this, it makes me want an expanded remix of the Monster House theme in Mystery Dungeon even more. Wonderful job ElectricMudkip!
You never fail to disappoint. Every time I see a new video in my sub box I think "HAH! NO WAY HE CAN TOP THE LAST ONE!" and then you continue to do so. DAMN YOU E/M! xD

Best remix of MD2, extremely great work.
As always your work is as good as ever, man I love then ever I see the words "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon" in my notifications :) keep up the good work
Thank you, I'll try my best! :D

Amazing work as every time EM.

The feels...
Even though its all energetic, I can still hear the parts that make me think this song nastolgic xD
I cant believe PMD2 came out in 2008, I remember being in japan back then. it was in in Japanese first but I waited for the english version
Yeah, I miss the old days when I played Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time...
This country-like ending starting at 6:01 is giving me life.
+Skriff_Chinnot Ikr! Me too!

Holy shit :O this made me shiver so much! so awesome work on this one.
Great work as always. Really catchy
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! :D
You make some really good music man. Your Primal Dialga remix is the most listened to track on my phone after all
Jackson Vance Haha, that's really flattering dude. ^^ I know I deviate a lot from each respective source material in my mixes and thusly don't always make the most accessible music (especially when I change sub-genres often!), but I do hope I can continue to please you with my future works! :D Thanks again for your feedback, it was much appreciated.
Great work you made here! ;)
oh man this is amazing, makes me want to go and play that game again! :D

Good job ! It's very beautiful your remix :P
6:00 made my life!
Dis my jam man
The start strongly reminds me the theme of the first movie (Pokemon Dance byVicky Sue Robinbson)
I've been remixing for nearly three years now, with the actual date coming up soon. :)
Onto your side note question: I actually have.
(In japan there's always a karaoke version on every disc)
Now excuse me I've got a Pokemon Party to attend *starts remix*
Nice Song! *Starts dancing with Lucario*
this is super NOICE
bro
_bro_
BROOOOOOOOO
so noice
also thank you
lol no problem
Your music reminds me of passed away Dogs and Canines that are on their Journeys to the Heavens above
Well, there's no need to hinder your creativity for me, but it is a nice sentiment! Thanks for being one of the coolest remixers on UA-cam.
GigaPurpleCheeseMan Aww... that's too flattering. I have a hard time agreeing with that, but thank you, though. xD You're awesome yourself, man. You nearly always provide feedback, and it's always great to see your opinions on any given work. :D Keep being you, you!!
could i please use this in one of my videos plz
So THIS was the 'PMD2 work' you were working on! What's even more ironic than that, you talked about it after I asked you to critique mine! Funny how things work out. I can't stop laughing.....this is too great. The exact same piece, although our two versions were VERY different. Did you use mine as an idea base or something along the lines? :D
Anyhoo, great job as usual, and keep on keepin' on!!
Glad you enjoyed the mix, dude! :D I appreciate the feedback!
Awesome
I heard a part that sounded like your Shoal Cave remix intro. ^.^
*****
No, not at all. I loved it! ^.^
Thanks a lot man! :) I'm glad you were pleased with this one, hahaha.
I use both Logic Pro 9 & Logic Pro X, but I've been mainly using 9 because X doesn't allow the usage of 32-bit plugins, and some of the plugins that I use often are unfortunately restricted to that. So yeah, word of advice--if the plugins you're using only have 32-bit versions, don't buy Logic Pro X until 64-bit versions of said plugins are released by their respective developers. xD I unfortunately haven't been using X enough to really give more advice, though--sorry about that. ^^;;;
wow! thats the exact same composition as my team was! well, assuming eevee was your main character
Aidan Brodnitz Yup, Eevee was my main. (hence the Glaceon scout avatar)
XerxesTexasToast lol nice avatar btw
Aidan Brodnitz Heh, thanks. |3
Awsomez :D
Also, Awesomr :D
How do you do this anyway?
Thanks! :) And I make remixes with the programs Logic Pro 9 & Logic Pro X (though only one of them is necessary at any given time), they're both for Mac. A PC equivalent is Fl Studio.
Hey there! I livestream on Twitch. May I use your music in my stream playlist? I'll credit you of course.
Go ahead man! Thanks for asking, and have fun with your streams! :)
yeah
even if i didnt play the game,i l like it.
301 club boyee!
Also, thank you!
Poke-mon-mon-mon!
Spin off game music that deserves a remix from someone on yt:
Pokemon typing boss battle theme
Pokemon mystery dungeon Wiiware town theme
Pokemon ranger GS raikou/entei/suicune theme
Pokemon trading card game online almost winning theme
someone add more to this list
PDM 3 Tyrian maze (inner chamber) :3
I'm pretty sure that he's done the first one. Also, the Bittercold boss battle theme perhaps? ;D
QueenofTNT Yes, and I also did the G/S Legendary Beast Trio theme too (though it was pretty liberal). :3
But what about the tyrian maze ? :3 Would really love to hear that
TheMelodyGames Hmmm, I'll keep it in the back of my head, but for now I can't come up with anything I could potentially do to transform it into a remix. It's not the most melody-driven PMD theme, see. :P
