I have just completed my first silent retreat at St Beunos Jesuit retreat centre, in the hills of north Wales. I spent 8 days in silence, apart from a 40 minute meeting with my spiritual director, each day. It was transformative. Whether you are a committed Christian, wanting to find out God's will for you, or a run-down, liver of life, looking for peace and renewal, with no particular set of beliefs, St Beunos and its staff will welcome you and guide you as much or as little as you would like. "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." Robert Frost Thank you St Beunos!
Until I read this, I wasn't even aware of the music, and I'm a musician. I was in awe of the visual beauty of the place and the camera work. The scene in the refectory seeing just a hint of people sitting down to eat and disappearing was so moving for me. The music was so subtle and unintrusive for me that it created an atmosphere of silence and peace. Except perhaps at the end. :--)

A wonderful reminder of St. Beuno's and the transformative depth of the silence there
I had such a wonderful retreat here last year.
Such an amazing place. My time there was transformative and restorative. Perfect. Thank you x
This video is great! I put a link to it on my UA-cam channel. Just made a UA-cam video talking about St Beuno's to share with my peers...
Is it just me, or do I alone wonder why there is so much (loud) background music in a program with the title Silence???
Yes it's not great. Noticed it too.
God gave you ears for a reason.
