I had a German Shepherd mix for 14 years from the early 1990s until 2005, he showed me unconditional love that I’ve never felt since his passing. He was a great protector, yet was so sweet to me, his human. I loved EVERY second of being his human. Rusty has a similar face to my best friend who I miss so much.
A few others have already pointed it out here, and I feel like it needs to be emphasized, because a lot of people cannot see beyond the cuteness: as lovely as this rescue story is, Rusty is really overweight. And (as much as I hate to say this) the owners' first GS looked the same, so it's probably their tendency to overfeed their dogs, rather than it being a medical issue. It's not good for the dog's health, the spine and other bones will really suffer from the extra weight and it will likely cause orthopedic problems. Please, people, do not overfeed your dogs out of love, rescue or not!
Rusty is the perfect fit for your family. The facial expressions are so adorable. The best scenes are when he is with dad. Sleeping together, cuddling together. The best thing about this family is all the love and attention that Rusty gets. Keep it up guys it is so lovely to enjoy!!!

great😂❤
What you have done, the love and understanding you show is totally wonderful. But I am afraid Rusty needs to lose a few kilos.

Dods are a gift. Dog spelled backward is...
Third? wheel? We say 5th wheel (car reserve), no matter how many.
That's only funny if it doesn't happen to you. When your spouse returns the preference in kind it's worse for the third wheel.
Lovely, but Rusty is overweight. Not good for him.
not sure why this showed up on my feed, but 2:44 is creepy
Such a Great Story !!!
