The big thing that keeps me coming back to this channel (other than the quality of the games), but it's the enthusiasm Arty has. You can fake enjoyment for a little while, but the man reeks of (among other things) his passionate enjoyment of Starcraft.
When the angrytoucanman was losing to mutas on the ladder and said "chat there's nothing i can do, you'll watch pro players get absolute dominated by muta spam" he wasn't lying...
Muta all in means you gotta spam turrets like Arty was saying. If you misread what the zerg is doing and the pull the muta all in and you don't have like 12 turrets you're dead unless they make a huge mistake microing their mutas.
I just love Scan's playstyle. Medics in mineral line, energy upgrades, bouts of excellent micro (would love to see the last one done consistently). Really good stuff.
The way you talked about altering your gameplay depending on how serious it is around 4:30 translates to anything competitive and really helped my mentality today. Thanks!
8:37 Unfortunately, there is no hero unit Valkyrie in StarCraft 1/Brood War, so there is no canon name for the Valkyrie hero. 15:58 Scan attacks Yoon's 3rd hatch with his bio but doesn't target the hatch with the nearby SCV, and later cuts short the hatch kill by bringing back the bio to help defend from muta harass, but leaves the idle scouting SCV on an attack order in Yoon's 3rd to eventually finish off the hatch while Yoon is busy controlling the mutas. 25:58 Energy upgrades are under utilized, despite being useful for banking energy, getting spells ready quicker, and being able to heal longer. I am hoping upgrading energy upgrades catches on in the pro scene!
I love matches like that second one, esp. the beginning where everything is so imbalanced. Yeah, Scan killed the base at 11 but Yoon had a pretty successful Muta harass that almost took Scan out, at the same time.
Game 1 wasn't just overpool, it was a gas before hatchery into two hatch muta. Very very aggressive. His lair was like twenty seconds early, which is why the mutas popped out and scan didn't have turrets in time.
Cutting off the gas with the siege tanks was brilliant. That's the kind of play that can make siege tanks (or battlecruisers for that matter) worth it. A zerg that's short on gas is super limited.
These are a show of mental game as much as skill, you need to have serious focus to keep clawing your way back underneath so much pressure. Yoon is crazy with the incoming damage distribution too.
It is easy for me to open UA-cam, watch a video about Scan crushing CNSL, then close the browser. It is even easier for Scan to join a CNSL game, dominate, then do it again!!
Hey Arty, I know you mentioned this CNSL Series isnt performing very well metric-wise. I would recommend changing around the titles to be more akin to how the ASL vods look as they are much more eye catching and i think are better for the youtube Algorithm. I love this content but even I sometimes see these vids in my sub box and don't immediately register what is is and that i wanna watch it.
@@StriKe_jk Its really not comparable. Mutas ruin literally every matchup with Z. Including ZvZ. When a unit is so powerful that the only option in a mirror is kill the opponent before they tech to it, or build more, thats a problem. We can go entire seasons of ASL without seeing a zerg late game because of mutas.
Mutas are op cause they get stacked up together. Where ground units have to deal with pathing over each other. Would be interesting if flying units dealt with Pathing too
THERE'S VALUE IN EVEN ONE UNIT OF DIVERSITY IN HOMOGENEOUS DEFENSES. Translation: sunks lose value after +1 armor, spores don't. Plague increases spore value. vessel too squishy to take spore attacks and irradiate snipe high gas units at rallypoint, cannot eraser drones. Keep drones good. Defilers not dead, good. MB Bishop's awkward wall wasn't Sea's (depots side by side, under a rax). Seeing that T-formation with depot on top makes sense on bottom spawns, there has to be another wall formation that doesn't welcome in lings for docking like brothers do in the marine pocket.
16:07 This is as fun as a Liberator on top of the Brood War Hatchery. I really don't want to see any more TvZs. I want to toss my remote at these mutalisks. I am surprised that Scan won this. You really have to be Zen patient to play Terran
Every ladder player goes muts. Why wouldn't they, so easy, fast expand, 3 sunkens out front. It's a bs win, I hate ppl that play zerg . No skill. My opinion
I remember my first time playing BW. I was Terran minding my own business when all these little ankle bitters destroyed all my units. I've hated Zerg and the players even more since then
This build works when light does it against soulkey in tournaments, but doesnt work when artosis does it in ladder In artosis's mind, the biggest difference in those two scenarios is the ladder point, not that light is better than him.
couple things to improve viewing... put the game in the title not just tvz.. etc. and the round.. put the full series in games or if you are splitting it up.. put games 3-5 in title or something. like this is lame we can't finish the series when it's already done so we have to go watch on another channel
Agreed with putting the rounds in the title. I disagree about cramming out the series though. These are a daily thing to look forward to I don’t want to binge it.
Scan can't reading the game. A simple bunker on 2nd game near racks would saved like 25-30 marines and that's why he is bad terran. He literally falls to Mutas in general.
Mutas are so stupid. I've been watching pretty much only Broodwar the last year and loving it. But the one thing that makes me long for SC2 is the superior unit diversity. Mutalisks make ZvZ basically total trash, and in TvZ they exert such unreal pressure the game is often decided on the first group of mutas. Some of the issue isn’t mutas rhemselves, but how trash Terran anti-air is. Turrets do so little damage, Marines without range struggle to do anything at all, Goliaths don't accomplish much, it takes quite a while to tech to Valks. I get BW is a forever game that isn’t going to receive any balance patches. I just find myself frustrated sometimes knowing that nearly every game with Zerg is going to be muta dominated.
I don't understand, he's a professional zerg player playing in the tournament... He just gives all the workers in the 2 bases to the poisonous vessel number, all you have to do is throw plaques with the defilers, and just add 1-2 spore colonies to their bases, it's not that hard. Making 350-400 apm does not mean you win the game. you have to make clever clicks
Not building spores is killing him in several of these games vs Scan. Having the tanks blow up his gas twice in a row crippled his ability to get enough scourge too.
The big thing that keeps me coming back to this channel (other than the quality of the games), but it's the enthusiasm Arty has. You can fake enjoyment for a little while, but the man reeks of (among other things) his passionate enjoyment of Starcraft.
I heartily agree. No matter how many matches this guy covers, it never ceases to entertain me
This is how I do my early mornings, breakfast and Artosis Cast, thanks for the daily gift mate!
Meanwhile me doing dinner 😂

ive watched A LOT of your casts and i honestly this these past recent ones have been your best work, thank you
TvZ is easily the best match-up for spectating. Go Scan!!
This Yoon guy is very good, but he should make some anti vessel spores or enough scourge
Just subscribed after watching 5 videos of flash absolutely killing it! Would like to see more videos of artosis gaming
Game 1 wasn't just overpool, it was a gas before hatchery into two hatch muta. Very very aggressive. His lair was like twenty seconds early, which is why the mutas popped out and scan didn't have turrets in time.
I really like the emphasis of eraser by Scan. I think it's an underutilized tactic.
Especially if the Zerg is skimping on scourge or other anti-air.
Cutting off the gas with the siege tanks was brilliant. That's the kind of play that can make siege tanks (or battlecruisers for that matter) worth it. A zerg that's short on gas is super limited.
Great game! Love your casts Artosis don't ever stop.
Go scan! Playing out of his mind! Ty arty! Ur casting is art and medicine ❤
I really like Scan's play of having multiple groups of troops all over the map, holding multiple positions. very cool~!
Scan always gets killed when he moves out with that 8 group at beginning
Omggggggg
Scan is so good I love this

You wanna piece of me, boy?🌝
Good Sim city here
Yoon wins.
The hero we needed.
Really love watching zerg do what seems like the exact same thing in every single game and just steam roll everything
does an irradiated mechunit (other than a vessel because detection) damage borrowed/stealthed units?
Burrowed units aren’t damaged by irradiate Unless directly targeted. Can counter the erasers with burrow but toon wasn’t prepared
How many scans' would a zerg scan Scan, if a zerg could, zerg would scan?
33
How much scans could a zerg chuck if a scan could chuck scans?
can scan scan scans scanning scan's scan scanning scans?
@@RJB_TV No no - Who's on first. love your channel RJB

Just watch full series on other sites. Artosis is hella slow. This is like a week old. Finals already done

Agreed, people don’t realize it’s a full tournament you’re covering
How to win as Zerg:
Step 1. Make Mutalisks
Step 2. Win
How to win as Terran:
Step 1. Turtle till Irradiate
Step 2. Win
How to win as Protoss (According to Artosis)
Step 1. Do anything
Step 2. Win
How to win as Protoss:
Step 1. Attack move
Step 2. Afk

what a tense series
I did play SC since 98, funny as some old strat become now "new" :D
Scan is my hope that Resto will be used properly and Terrans will actually adopt it..
Perhaps he'll even some day keep BCs with the BIO vs Ultras..

did Arthosis say My boy Scan?
Why is it Depot, Depot, Racks? And not Depot, Racks, Depot?
Should bunkers be more popular against mutas? Turrets always seem so underwhelming
i think at some point pros will utilize nukes in these situations when zerg turtles on 4-5 bases
Arty sounds so much happier to be casting some bw
Scan
Nice series so far
Is that a spoiler?
Due to the amount of radiation in the cast i now have x-ray vision!😊
imagine 1 spore at each base, would have been so efficent
äwsome game, love scans strategies a lot !!
I love watching Zerg pros
27:20 what the Arty??? Why would you cancel the upgrade right as it finishes! Griefing Scan's game like this, it's straight-up evil.

Yoon takes a 3rd base at *3 o'clock* 😂
With zerg, when you lose, you often lose so badly
Why nearly noone types "gg" nowadays?? Seems like manner players went away.
TvZ and toliet!!
The BO tactics are real
tvz continues is good because i like tvz
Scan seems one tier above yoon to be honest; unless it is a build order or map thing, scan just crushes.

Scan is out here making Terran look like both the strongest race to ever exist and also the weakest lol. Good games so far
Haha, that's terran. Somehow weak af and imba at the same time.
8:09 / 31:29 look how far mutas can shoot
5 raks defence was not bad, 1% of flash power
