    Dear Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy.
I have the deepest respect and admiration for you! You were so devoted to your late husband and are so devoted to his memory! Senator Kennedy was so Blessed to have met you! You know, what I so admire about you is your toughness and resilience! You endured after the tragic events of June 5/6, 1968 and raised your beautiful family!
You would have made a wonderful First Lady!
Quote by Senator Robert F. Kennedy ~ June 5,1968 Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles ~
"I also want to thank my wife Ethel. Her patience during this whole effort is fantastic."

What an Amazing Lady. 'Ethel' is a Beautiful and Honest Documentary Rory. It has everything, but above all the powerful strength of character of your Mom comes through, as does your Dad, of course. The strength needed for her, and your whole family to get through those tragedies is tough to imagine, and her insistence in moving forward, and doing the next right thing. God Bless your whole Family for what you have contributed in the fight for Human Rights and Justice, and sadly at a very personal cost. Love from Ireland. 💚🇮🇪🇺🇸.

Ethel is a tough old bird who suffered many personal losses ; first her husband dying under her nose while she is pregnant, then 2 of her kids ; one of a ski accident and the other OD'ed. Last month she buried one of her granddaughters at the age of 23 of an OD.The facts show, it was accidental. Very tragic. Rory looks like her dad and her mom as well.

Furthermore, her parents perished in the 1955 air tragedy, followed by a brother who followed the fate of his parents in 1966. Her brother's wife then choked to death on a piece of meat in May 1967, then another brother's wife suffered from a fatal brain tumor, died in March 1973. Just two years later, her brother's two sons were implicated in the murder of a young woman, one of the sons being charged and convicted in 2002. A sister eventually died of alcoholism, followed by that sister's daughter who died in 2011 of a brain tumor. Three siblings later predeceased her, leaving her with just one surviving sibling who is 90 years old now.

I lost my only sibling to suicide when I was 3 months along w/ my last child, so I think I feel very much able to relate, even if in smaller fashion; she inspires me as an outspoken woman & a devoted mother.

The 'more adept' replacement LBJ following on in office from the assassinated JFK, was perhaps more comfortable for the deep-state establishment types, but yeah, Johnson and his generals really did a good job with the Vietnam policies!!

Ethel truly understood her role in the Kennedy family. She never spoke about her personal triumph and finally becoming sober in late 2018. You know, and it's all quite obvious when you look back and connect the dots, but the Tammy Wynette song "Stand By Your Man" was actually written about Ethel and her keen sense of duty. She really stood by Bobby after his affair with Marilyn Monroe and then being responsible for drowning Mary Jo McAllister at Chappaquiddick. She really deserves to finally have a chance to live her own life outside of the purely sympathetic and overwhelming grief and disappointment of never living in the White House.

Being embarrassed for my hurrying, against State House rules, I could be ticketed, so here i am doing a fast walk ? heading down the stairs near the Hall of Flags, when a guy appears at the bottom, Then he turns up the stairs toward me. Then you didn't talk to the staff who were people of color she called them racial slurs and she had a habit of not paying debts and trying to use the Kennedy name as leverage.

She would accumulate charge accounts all across the Washington region and not pay them. There was physical violence on her part to household help and she thinks people should feel honored to work for her for free, simply because she wears the Kennedy name.

She also prematurely buried her parents, some of her siblings, a niece who died on Ethel's 61st wedding anniversary, two other nieces who were born with developmental disabilities, two nephews who were implicated in a murder. A lot of her siblings are also dead. She has been through hell and back several times over.

Ethel was and is amazing....what her life was about, how she lived and how she managed to survive the tragedies in her life. A remarkable woman who is still tough as nails while keeping her focus and philosophy. Any flaws in this picture ? probably, but we just don't know about them. They don't get publicized.

    • @texan903
      @texan903 5 років тому

There are many unflattering accounts of Ethel Skakel Kennedy's life. For one, some accounts say that she farmed out her kids for others to raise, then turned a blind eye when some of the kids developed drug and alcohol problems. She was more concerned about negative press than getting her children the help they needed. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

I always liked this woman....and then I read how she stiffed an Indiana restaurateur who hosted her son's wedding reception in 1982 and could not abide her anymore. I can forgive just about anything but when a millionairess screws a working man out of $8,000 and then dodges his phone calls and then forces him to file suit to recoup what is rightfully his, well, that is nearly impossible to forgive. Simply contemptible.

well, it was not publicized....indeed, this behavior would change the way people see others. A big flaw here. Thanks for sharing.....There goes the mother Teresa effect. BTW, it was just discovered mother Teresa sold some kids to human markets to get money to run her institution. About that ? she was using the kids as an excuse to be famous.....and they made her a saint ! typical.....

Ethel did acts like the one you described along with what Peter Lawford witnessed, such as having maids clean her house, as paid to do but when seeing a maid throwing away a piece of paper that appeared to be scrap, cursed and called the maid a n****r.
She's such a hypocrite to have shunned her sister for a year because of an affair the sister had, and eventually divorced her husband but Ethel has committed many heinous acts that just never got publicity.

Ethel has the same birthday as my mother April 11 but my mom was a little younger… I love how all the women I know born on April 11 and I’ve known a couple aside from my mother are leaders and happened to start their own businesses while still being great mothers. She is absolutely precious. I remember seeing this years ago, and at the end she takes all of her grandchildren out on the sailboat, she’s pretty bad-a** (and I mean that and the most complementary way possible)!!!!⛵️🥰❤️
PS- I did watch the assassination of Robert recently and how she handled the crowd and then put the rosary beads in his hands.🥹I mean this woman’s a ROCK!!!
