Not with the musical influenced they shove down our throats now days. Nope. The world is being SUPPRESSED. You cannot have a major influence on this world without them having SOME kind of control over it. Unless we make them know who's really in charge. Call me crazy all you want too. I know.

This reminds me of Michael Jackson saying if he doesn’t record his song ideas god will give them to prince, lol and I guess I’m just realizing they are both witnesses.
The word 'genius' is one of the most prostituted modern expressions around; everyone from a mediocre child star to a certain super clown has been referred to as a genius! And yet the title of 'genius' is hardly adequate to describe Prince's incomparable musical inspirations, instrumental, virtuosity, lyrical mastery and overall showmanship.
Agreed. When U can blow away the Bands U R constantly around, with not only Ur tireless workmanship, but Ur mastery of the music, the lyrics & Ur vocalization? U know U The Man! He wuz a master of the crafts he endeavored 2 pursue. Fo' sho!
Very well said.. and even this isn't the true credit he deserves. I just wonder wht is in his vaults.... What would he have released when he was in his 90's and needed cash. What are the songs that he threw away... thinking they weren't good enough. It's one thing to be a genius... and yet another to be a prolific genius.
Still so prolific in his final years. In the last 2 years (2014-2015) he released 4 albums, each a different genre of music, and produced & wrote tracks on Judith Hill's album Back In Time
My mom bought me her albums. I am definitely an 80s lady. I still love Prince and the songs he wrote. I never knew he wrote for other artist but I can definitely see him in these songs
Stevie Nicks tried to write Stand back using Little red corvette for the music, so she called prince to ask his permission, he said wait.. no.. and they got together and he changed it up a bit for her to use.
He actually wrote the Glamorous Life for SheeNA E but she was busy(??) so he gave it to SheeLA E. I’ve seen her perform w/Prince, w/her dad Pete Escovido and alone and she’s phenomenal! Meet her in SJ. And the last time I saw Prince a cpl yes b4 he left us. So miss him.

But, uh... Prince didn't write "Pray". He DID write "When Doves Cry" which is the majority of the musical base on "Pray" which is why he is credited on the song.
@ ladydontekno Some of the songs on this list most people have never heard of on a major scale, (namely #6, #7, and #3), save for the hardcore fan base of the respective artists.
Stevie Nicks "Stand Back" written in a quick visit from Stevie to Prince and he gave it, because he is not accredited in it Prince play guitars on "Like a Prayer" of Madonna and also, he asked not to be accredited
Pretty sure that is Stevie Wonder on harmonica on Chaka Kahn's "I feel for you". Also, Sinead O'Connor is an amazing voice, and amazing looking in that video, but as far as I can tell, NOBODY got along with her.
When Prince died, I moved up one in World rankings. I played bands and solo gigs for 60 years and I never once played one of his songs. In tribute, I now sing and play "When Doves Cry". He was one of the best. I think you might need to be a musician/singer to realise how really good he was.
I LOVE Prince's "Beautiful Ones", which Mariah Carey covered on her Butterfly album. I had no idea he wrote it until looking at the credits when I bought it!
I think everyone by now knows that Nothing Compares 2 You is written by Prince. It's not surprising at all. You even had on a list of best covers earlier
You can't assume that everyone knows these things. It may be common knowledge to you, but I for one had no idea... To be fair, I'm not the biggest fan of Prince, at least not enough to know shit like this. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the guy's music, just never followed him that closely.
jajceboy I thought sinead was common knowledge, I mean I'd expect anyone who cares enough to watch this chart wud hav known that, and therefore I think 'nothing compares to u' shud not hav been put as number 1 on the list
He didn't wrote it. She was listening to little red corvette and then wrote it. She rang him to tell him and he came to the studio and helped with the sound. Guy was a genius
Prince is right up there with Lennon/McCartney. with his songwriting chops, is known as a genius guitar player, & his vocals are right up there with the best of them. IMO he should be remembered as maybe the most talented musician ever. I am older, & my tases vary. The closest artist I can come up with that compares to Prince would be Hank Williams Sr.
Correction, he's much better than all of those....but I'm so glad you didn't say the Beatles, because as a group they were simply awful, as individual performers however, much better.
I'd be honored if some Prince fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of PURPLE RAIN and DIAMONDS & PEARLS on my YT channel in tribute to the greatest songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist of all time. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Thanks and RESPECT to the genius of Prince.

Yeah I forgot all about that
That's a great list, and all good songs... but my fav tune that he wrote for someone else is still Jungle Love ~ Morris Day & The Time. such a fun tune!
This reminds me of Michael Jackson saying if he doesn’t record his song ideas god will give them to prince, lol and I guess I’m just realizing they are both witnesses.
Amen to that
Jehovah witnesses?
@@howtodoitdude1662 as far as I know, both of their mothers are long time witness.
Also Selena Q's mother.
I remember them both saying that about each other
The word 'genius' is one of the most prostituted modern expressions around; everyone from a mediocre child star to a certain super clown has been referred to as a genius!
Who is the mediocre child to a super clown you talking about ?Name names you coward .You know the backclsh is coming at you .
@@reinemazidath5466 are you genuinely gonna miss the point by that kind of distance? Jesus Christ.
NothingMaster- the point is, he was a genius.
Check out Sheena Easton's 'Cool Love.' Talk about a great song written by Prince. It has to be my favorite.💜
Still so prolific in his final years. In the last 2 years (2014-2015) he released 4 albums, each a different genre of music, and produced & wrote tracks on Judith Hill's album Back In Time
# 1 deserved it, R.I.P. #Prince, you're 1 of the greatest musicians.
Did u also know when they mentioned "With This Tear", they actually played "Water From The Moon"?
He was one of the most underrated musical genius ever!
No he definitely gets the credit he deserves by anyone slightly interested in music.
Most realize this.
Musical genius I agree. But underrated? Come on. The guy was loved worldwide.
Underrated? He was universally well received
There are very few singers alive today that can touch Patti Labelle vocally, she is a legend !
B
Yassssss!!!
Jessica Sanchez, to name one.
Fantasia puts in work!
My mom bought me her albums. I am definitely an 80s lady. I still love Prince and the songs he wrote. I never knew he wrote for other artist but I can definitely see him in these songs
If you love Prince you knew this, I know everything he wrote!!!
To be able to write for an artist, the era of music and its genre it takes a very gifted person to do so. Prince was just that person.
Prince also did the keyboard music for Stevie Nicks' song "Stand Back" in 1983
Stevie Nicks tried to write Stand back using Little red corvette for the music, so she called prince to ask his permission, he said wait.. no.. and they got together and he changed it up a bit for her to use.
And featured on some instruments in "Why Should I Love You?" by Kate Bush
DAMN!!! I knew that song has Prince's sound!
You can hear him in all of them though right?!
Halpin2006 'izzatafact *?! 🤔
What about "Get it Up" Prince cover by TLC from the "Poetic Justice Soundtack" album
The time recorded that 1st
@@ericm.felton9386 She did say it was a cover.
That Sheila E song has ALWAYS sounded like a Prince song!
So true, prince is all over this song
Yes. And we all knew Prince’s protege was Shelia E. I loved Glamorous Life! 🥰
Best PRINCE songs written 4 another & not even mentioned here. JUNGLE LOVE, THE BIRD, 777-9311 (He wrote all The Time songs) SEX SHOOTER, BLUE LIMOUSINE (He wrote all Apollonia 6 songs) NASTY GIRL, YOU'RE SO DULL (He wrote all VANITY 6 songs) then add MAZARATI, THE FAMILY & MADHOUSE. He also recieved co-writing credit 4 STAND BACK by Stevie Nicks (He also plays the synths on the track) and it goes on 4 days.... 4 more PURPLE GOODNESS peep the Prince Discography Tribute series on UA-cam. 4 the true funk soldiers!
He only wrote 3 songs for Maserati. They were Brown Mark's band. Of course the most famous song he wrote for them he released himself... Kiss.
Didn't know he co-wrote Stand Back with Stevie Nicks nor played on it.
Yes Sir. You are absolutely right.
Lol......yup, bring an overnight bag and your picnic basket to this class.
not only did he write them he played EVERY instrument on the studio recordings
even tho I wasn't alive when he started. I grew up from 03 listening to him.❤ love prince so much! rest in peace. he had a huge impact on my father and my relationship. that's one of the things me and my dad got along about. Prince is now forever the heart of me and my father. thank you to that amazing singer.
PRINCE was way ahead of his time !!! R.I.P PRINCE we will never forget The Music you gave us all !!!
He was truly unique. He had a very rough life and I think that's why he got a little odd toward the end, too much tragedy. His guitar was really astounding.
#1 is one of my all time favorites & I did not know he wrote that I'm hearing with him in mind....
and it really does sound like something he created
💜☂️
Prince was capable of composing a no. 1 in 9 minutes and then make pancakes for everyone. And I'm not sure if it really took him that long.
The man's throwaway guitar licks floor me.
Such a wide variety of artists. I loved Prince but I had no idea he wrote all these.
Music has gone from the soul to the ego.
Amen to that, toxic. That is so true.
👍🏼
Music has been shyt for decades only the originals are Viable unlike the song buyn bytches get fakn creative not just rip off somebody or rehash some legend's songs come up with ya own shyt u Hackx
So has real actual life
We can thank the industry, primrily the record labels, for that crap.
the song you played for Céline was actually “Water From The Moon” not “With This Tear”
The TV show "Blackish" did a beautiful tribute to Prince in an episode. Each character did their rendition of his music videos and if i remember corfectly they sang the songs too.
I highly recommend checking that out should you have the means.
Great video! 🎵
Manic Monday makes so much sense now. It would’ve really been nice to hear him sing this! Wow
What about round and round by tevin Campbell ?
Philip Morise it was obvious he mad that though he was even in the music video
😒
The guy that made this video is a moron. Prince's first 2 albums were very heavily disco oriented.
He was princes muse. He wrote alot of songs for tevin.
Shhhh by Tevin Campbell he wrote that too
Meli'sa Morgan Do Me Baby. Huge R&B song.
So glad someone else remembered it too....
Somehow I can hear Prince's guitar vividly playing in every songs
Prince wrote “nothing compares 2 u” for chris Cornell. He just didn’t know it at the time. If you haven’t heard that I suggest you do so immediately!!!!! Now chris can sing it for him all the time. R.I.P. to the greats.
Yo mister was my favorite Patti label song during the late 80s.... Prince sure knew how to write songs that will touch your soul
Even if I didn't recognize most of these as Prince songs you can easily tell they are his
"Do Me Baby" by Melissa Morgan
Dwayne Richardson Smh....as I was watching this, I was hoping Meli'sa was mentioned
Fo Sho! 1 of my fav covers of his songs. I actually like it much better than his version. But his 1st 2 Albums R still among my favez.
Everyone identifies that as a Prince song.
He sang that song in the late 1970s
Yeah they missed that one big time
I feel like we all know that The Glamorous Life was by prince.
WE WANT TOP 10 PRINCE SONGS ALREADY!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! O(-> ☔️💜💜💜🎸
I've wanted it for like a year now!
We need it
+RetroMikeXP I know
It's been months now
The longer we wait, more doves will cry 💜😢
+IzzyVEntertainment7 yes AMEN
They'll say the same and songs and Purple Rain will be No1. Starfish and Coffee. Paisley Park, The Cross, The Ladder, Sometimes it Snows in April won't even get a mention and any of those could easily be No1.
+Drew Layton purple rain (song) didn't even reach #1
But when doves cry, lets go crazy, batdance, kiss, and crew were #1
But purple rain everybody knows but they r all amazing of course. I'm like his biggest fan
I still remember the day they called me down to escort a VIP to MJ's private dining room I nearly fell to the ground when I turned the corner and standing right in front of me Prince so amazingly beautiful and dressed to the beat of his own drum. Prince your music made me love me. I am truly blessed to have met all that is you .....your music ,u & me forever
So lucky to have met two legends
He wrote “shhh” for Tevin Campbell and that is my favorite! When Prince sung it himself he leveled it up even more! Both sung it beautifully!
Prince was the man!! Yes. OMG so amazing!!!
I would've liked to have seen Vanity 6's "Nasty Girl." Also, maybe an honorable mention for MC Hammer's "Pray"?
While I grant you that everyone knew Prince wrote the songs that made this list, everyone knew he wrote Vanity 6's music.
But, uh... Prince didn't write "Pray".
He DID write "When Doves Cry" which is the majority of the
musical base on "Pray" which is why he is credited on the song.
@ ladydontekno
Some of the songs on this list most people have never heard of on a major scale, (namely #6, #7, and #3), save for the hardcore fan base
of the respective artists.
+DLCOrganization I don't understand what you're saying but I think I'll have something to eat.
Jarno Flinkman
You go do that.
Stevie Nicks "Stand Back" written in a quick visit from Stevie to Prince and he gave it, because he is not accredited in it
Prince play guitars on "Like a Prayer" of Madonna and also, he asked not to be accredited
He played the synth on "Stand Back" too. If memory serves me, he said in an interview once that horns were the only instruments he didn't play.
He had a signature style tho.
You also wrote Love Song for Madonna on that same album
Don't we love what that says about him?
@@Scott-DJ They actually collabed over the phone for that... neither really were happy with the way it came out.
I feel for you, and nothing compares 2 u are my 2 favorite tunes that the genius penned due in part because of how well they suited the artists!
Pretty sure that is Stevie Wonder on harmonica on Chaka Kahn's "I feel for you". Also, Sinead O'Connor is an amazing voice, and amazing looking in that video, but as far as I can tell, NOBODY got along with her.
especially not her hair dresser
Yes, I heard it too
davedzone Was just thinking the same!
It was Stevie
Happens, when people suffer from being bipolar and not get treated the way they need to ...
You can always tell a Prince song. That style is unmistakable.
Prince you were a musical GENIUS may you RIP Brother we love ya babe
When Prince died, I moved up one in World rankings. I played bands and solo gigs for 60 years and I never once played one of his songs. In tribute, I now sing and play "When Doves Cry". He was one of the best. I think you might need to be a musician/singer to realise how really good he was.
I LOVE Prince's "Beautiful Ones", which Mariah Carey covered on her Butterfly album. I had no idea he wrote it until looking at the credits when I bought it!
Now do top ten Prince songs.
Ikr I've been wanting them to do that for like a year now
You mean top 1000
You already know that it'll be wrong, but at least it might share what Prince songs people could start on
Wont happen, due to legal issues with his music being published.
It would be better to do one for the 80's, the 90's, the 00's, & the 10's separately
I think everyone by now knows that Nothing Compares 2 You is written by Prince. It's not surprising at all. You even had on a list of best covers earlier
But it got snubbed.
You can't assume that everyone knows these things. It may be common knowledge to you, but I for one had no idea... To be fair, I'm not the biggest fan of Prince, at least not enough to know shit like this. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the guy's music, just never followed him that closely.
but Prince and Sinead o' connor had heat with each other
jajceboy I thought sinead was common knowledge, I mean I'd expect anyone who cares enough to watch this chart wud hav known that, and therefore I think 'nothing compares to u' shud not hav been put as number 1 on the list
Know matter who is singing you can tell immediately that it was written by Prince
Shun pickett
I agree completely
@@roypickett1374 yep! Him and babyface! Every artist sounds like them on the songs they write!
Jungle love
They missed "Stand Back" one of the first singles of Stevie Nicks when she released her first album without Fleetwood Mac
He did not write the song, but Stevie was inspired by Little Red Corvette and he ended up doing the synth on the song
He didn't wrote it. She was listening to little red corvette and then wrote it. She rang him to tell him and he came to the studio and helped with the sound. Guy was a genius
I love that Stevie Nicks song. Little Red Corvette is an interesting connecting inspiration!
I believe if you do your homework Prince surpassed those to artist no disrespect to them
Correction, he's much better than all of those....but I'm so glad you didn't say the Beatles, because as a group they were simply awful, as individual performers however, much better.
Don't be ridiculous.
They ain't got nothing on Prince
He was in a league of his own. There's really no comparison. ♥️
RIP Sinéad O’Connor ❤
Nothing compares to you, still listening to it now 2023
PRINCE: "THE GREATES PRODIGY IN ROCK HISTORY". PERIOD.
Prince really is the greatest.
