Frans, I think one aspect that many analyst miss is the power of the Black middle class. The black middle class has a lot of power and contol in their extended families due to "Black tax" we pay to our families back home. When we start to feel the real squeeze of this disastrous ideologies and policies we are more luckily to lobby our families to ditch the ANC for an alternative. I see people like Herman Mashaba and Musi Maimane filing some of the void for moderates. Most black middle class understand the pains of poverty as we grew up in it and I dont think many of us will allow the ANC to Kamakazee with us on board.

I think i would give my left ball to see black people vote for Mashaba and Maimane problem is most of the country is uneducated and angry that normally means a populist partylike the EFF gains traction. If i was Cyril i would find a convenient accident for Juju...history tells us what happens to countries with leaders like that.

The rest will fall into poverty and thus anarchy and will it will become all out conflict between the have's and the have nots.

Sir, you nailed it. I made a similar long term analysis before 2018 elections on youtube comments, and people thought I was Ludacris and were convinced EFF would win. They were wrong and my comment stands vindicated. You are the ONLY person who has confirmed my similar analysis. Here is my updated assessment now in 08-2021: Whites need to step up and be seen to be tangibly helping Ramapoza to fix the country socially and financially even on land. This will somewhat please the crowds and boost Ramapoza. If Whites dont do that and contine resisting like they do now, theres 3 posibilities: 1) A government of power sharing. Not easy. 2) DA may win elections but fall into a stalemate with too much political opposition fights and squabbles and mistrust that even the success they achieve is just flushed down the toilet without the masses acknowledging it. Or 3)EFF wins and a Hitler kind of situation happens. I mean a real dictatorship. Remember when Hitler got into power, the masses were already angry and only needed a loud angry man to fire them up to do evil. Hitler didnt have to try too hard. The firewood was already chopped up and nicely dry like the South African masses today. All Malema has to do is light the match and go right into a blaze of disaster. Those are the 3 scenario. A new party formed between now and the next election will never win the election of 2023. Same way a student who gets an E or D at the midterm exam will never get to an A+ at the final exam. It will take an absolute miracle.

Secondly why do these people who have contributed nothing to the Western Cape expect to be provided houses, water, electricity, schooling and other services for free from the DA ? Sorry there is not enough money for that kind of hand out. Thirdly, why is Cape Town so dangerous ? Maybe you should ask Mr Cele, he controls the police, not the DA. And let's be honest, why are the Cape Flats so under policed ? So yes the DA does very well for all the citizens of the Western Cape. Maybe some of these citizens should get off their arses and do something for themselves to improve their living environment. Those who have are very happy with the DA.

I have lived in several of them and I can tell you that they are 1000% better than South Africa where I once lived for 39 years. If you haven’t lived in other countries you have no benchmark to compare and thus you rely on hearsay from others (gossip) which is fundamentally flawed reasoning. My advice is to emigrate, you will never regret it, by staying in SA you are doomed to a miserable, conflict-filled, tragic future (especially for your grandchildren). You will forever be filled with remorse if one of your descendants is tragically caught up in the inevitable violence that awaits SA. I wish you all the best and hope you see reason. Keep safe.

I am heartened by hearing about federation being mentioned as a likely option for a post ANC South Africa. I would like to suggest that confederation be considered - similar to that of the Swiss - or even full independence as with the endeavors of the Cape or even Boer or Afrikaner republics. It is about high time though, that what happened in 94 must be acknowledged as a total disaster.. Not doing this means there will be another opportunity where the same mistake is made; one man one vote in a unitary state has now proven to be a shambles, so other options must now be considered.

It will look like Zimbabwe naturally. I’m surprised it’s still called South Africa. Rodesia was a good place until it changed to Zimbabwe isn’t it? There will be nothing left in SA in 5 years never mind 20. Now maybe people will start understanding why apartheid was necessary. Some of the apartheid policies were too much but still it was necessary to keep the country in peace . During apartheid years the streets were clean the shops were clean and the streets were safe. Even in townships the people were safe. Look now the borders are open , foreigners have the jobs. The ANC got the country given to them in good condition. Served on a platter. Pity there will be nothing left. So sad. (Apartheid didn’t require black people to go to military/army yet for the white boys it was compulsory after school. Two year service . For what? . In USA the segregation made black peoples do the military it was compulsory for them but not in SA.) SA is now like every other African country.

    1. Your predictions seems exclusively pessimistic. There other factors at work in society, besides the state, and they have some influence on what happens within the state. Are there no positive signs?
    2. Your analysis overlooks the role of business interests that fund (and thereby shape) political parties. You make it sound like the only recourse is voting.
