    thats not the amp, its part of the remote start keyless entry system circuit, the amp would be under the steering wheel, the rear deck speakers are 6 3/4"s

      @@LoveByNicole I currently do not unfortunately. Very curious on if it would make a difference. Shaker has the Alpine 6 speaker system with factory amp. I have been wanting to test a aftermarket set of 6x9s and see if it makes it hit harder. Still in the works. I also need to post a video on how I swapped the dash speakers. Swapping the dash speakers clears up the highs and adds some strong mids 👍.

      Hey sorry for the late response. I took out the old factory speakers and checked them out and could not find a stamp on them identifying the ohms. The Kickers I put in are 4 ohm independent and are still banging hard daily. I have the bass maxed out on the equalizer and sometimes crank it full volume to hear over the exhaust lol. I would say make the move you will not regret it. Thanks for watching I hope your new upgrade sounds amazing👍

    i decided instead of the tiny mounting screws and nuts, i used the included sheet metal screws and drilled tiny holes into the install bracket through the existing holes below the slots, much tighter and better mounting, do you use the included speaker grills or just leave them off?

    Hello ! I’m new to the whole sound system thing and I really wanted to add more bass to my stock sound system. It’s not harman kardon or even alpine. Does installing rear speakers help with the bass ??

    • @SHAKER36
      @SHAKER36  Рік тому

      Hi, changing out just the rear speakers may add a little bass but not much. If your cars radio system is not equipped with an amplifier. I would recommend getting a 4 channel amp and changing out the speakers for some clear, crisp, loud music. I have the Alpine system and all the bass is coming from the 6x9s in the door. If your just looking for head pounding bass you can skip my first suggestion and get a 2 channel amp and a 12” woofer or two. Either route you take I would highly recommend adding sound damping material. Hope this helped👍

    nice vid, but you installed the speaker into the wrong slots! You were supposed to use holes, not slots on the adapter, and slots on the speaker frame. But the screws that are supplied by crutchfield/scosche are wrong. I went to a hardware store and got 1/4 inch longer and #6 screws, with matching washers and nuts.
    Also, did you check to see if the polarity on the wiring was correct? ( On a challenger forum there were cases where there was reversed polarity), and that will adversely affect sound and speaker life.

    • @SHAKER36
      @SHAKER36  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Scott S. thank you for the info. I have read about the polarity issue. At the time speakers were already installed. I felt they were missing mid/low end sound. I thought this maybe the issue. I gave Crutchfield a call and mentioned the issue. They offered to send me a new set of the different adapters, and some 6.5” Boom Mat speaker baffles at no charge. I made the swap and installed baffles, but still feel it could sound better.
      My next step if I decided to go for it would be to add an LCQ-1 audio controller. To hopefully give all speakers a fuller sound and more manageable when wanting to control the sound that comes out of them.

    • @scotts6596
      @scotts6596 3 роки тому +1

      @@SHAKER36 Thanks for your response with update. I also bought baffles by XTC for helping the Kickers produce better low end, even if it's slightly better. Besides that, the polarity issue, and the difference in resistance in ohms. The factory Alpine are supposedly rated at 2ohms, and the Kickers at 4. So It has been said and noted that it will affect the volume output ( lower for the same previous setting.)
      I also am putting the adhesive foam ribbon around the speaker mounting edges, for a better airtight installation. So much planning to try and do this as best as possible! 👍

    Since it's been a year since you did this install, have you noticed any change in the aftermarket speakers? Any distortion or blown speakers?
    The problem I've always had with aftermarket speakers on factory decks/amps is that they're usually underpowered. You can blow a speaker by not providing enough power to it, just as easily as you can by putting too much power.

Unfortunately though I put theses speakers in my Hyundai VeraCruz, same size and everything and both rear speakers sound blown. I’m pulling out my 6.5 in Challenger and dropping them in the blown VeraCruz speakers. Then copping the 6&3/4” Kickers. I like my music loud and clear. Hope this helps‼️
