- Did a challenge run where after every boss I kill I must use their remembrance weapon (and armor when applicable). Was honestly a fun way to try out all the different weapons!

The reason you struggled against the first boss was because you didn't use mohg's great rune when you were supposed to use all of his equipment obviously
Mogh’s great rune only works for spirit summons lol. Does it have any secondary effects?

I was just baffled when he started the video and immediately he's at Putrescent.
You need to go OUT OF YOUR WAY to do this boss FIRST. This boss is LOCKED behind a door that only opens when you break Miquella's charm, which you do by going to Shadow Keep or Bonny Village. So to reach this boss before any others, you need to skip Relanna, go to shadow keep, then go to literally the opposite side of the map, go all the way through the rather annoying fissure, then reach the boss, all without any Scadutree Fragments!?

I know a lot of people don't like them but I really find the putrescent knight to be a really satisfying boss fight. Relanna too I think those are my two favorite boss fights in the dlc.

i just find something odd about the texture and animations of the boss, especially the horse
I beat him in one go and I was wondering why people find it hard. His moves are delayed but so easily predictable and dodge able, his delays are very forgiving if you accidentally roll too early only thing is his fire which the hit boxes are just fucking stupid sometimes. But, for the most part jumping toward the flame works.
Yeah he is probably my least favorite boss of the entire game lol

Looks like a really fun run. Ngl looks like deflect tear can really salvage a lot of decent weapons and turn them into stance breaking monsters in the right hands, at least against most bosses.
If only I hadn't waited until I had almost completed the DLC to kill the first furnace golem! I was so mad when I realized what it dropped...That tear is the best thing they did for the dlc...

Honestly for the Dancing Lion bit I feel if you wanna get the closest to a pure dancing lion build you have to pair the dancing lion head with Morgott's omen rags armor

I'm loving Messmer's Spear of the Impaler and the Death Knight's Longhaft Axe, they're so much fun.
They're the weapons I used the most in my first runthrough of the dlc, the R2 on the spear takes ages to come out though which is the only downside
For the Scadutree Avatar, I think Bayle's Tyranny would have been better, because it does slightly more fire damage, no?

Deflecting hardtear, basically if you guard instantly as an attack lands you can block the damage and not lose a lot of stamina

the point of putrescent knight in a sleep area ... do not sleep on the jump mechanics
If you just double forward roll through the horse charge spin attack it’s way more consistent

Might just be cuz you're good at the boss but the Jori fight seems so satisfying when she gets her Zoning started up, I'm a big fan of besses you gotta chase for some reason (like Astel and pre-torrent Elden Beast)

The dancing lion lightning phase is annoying, sure, but try fighting one that has lightning and also death blight which irritated me until I decided to cheese it with range
How can he block Rellana so good and why does he do so much damage after blocking two times with the Putresence Cleaver?
The wondrous physick tear got from the first furnace golem means that you can perfectly block attacks to negate a lot of damage and really mitigate stamina costs of blocking, and it powers up your guard counter immediately delivered after, too. The more attacks you perfectly block in a consecutive chain, the stronger your final guard counter will be I think up to 80% additional damage?

You don't have to kill Messmer. The path to the Rauh region and Romina is off another path in the Shadow Keep. The area with all the living jars and Shaman jar innard monsters leads to the bridge to Rauh.
Couldn't you have also started the run with (base games) Radahn gear since you can beat mohg then radahn for the dlc?

So I feel dumb, how is Dist getting such high damage resist on his weapon blocks? Is it using that one talisman that gives you perfect guards?
Should do only spells yoh get in the dlc now and which ever ones you use during a boss fight will be unusable afterwards

IK you can block with weapons but as far as i know, that consumes ap and hp so, if someone could explain it to me id be thankful
I played through the dlc for the first time on NG+2, would it be a better/more fun experience to make a new character and go through it?
I did a new one before it came out. Wouldn't hurt to have a save with a new build you never did before for the dlc
I did half of it on a normal character but then I switched to my max NG character and got absolutely beat down until I finally beat it. Went back to the original character and beat most bosses in 1-2 tries. Would definitely say any experience is more fun than a high NG play through.
