- There's nothing quite like a steaming cup of rich and creamy hot chocolate to warm the soul. In this tutorial, we'll explore the art of creating chocolate cups and share tips on achieving the perfect hot chocolate. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced chocolatier, this guide will walk you through the process step by step. From choosing the right chocolate to mastering the technique of tempering, get ready to elevate your hot chocolate experience to a whole new level. So grab your favourite hot glass of milk, and let's dive in!
To start, we'll need plastic disposable cups and silicone moulds. Look no further than eBay, where you can find affordable and high-quality spoon silicone moulds. These moulds are not only a great deal but also provide the perfect shape for creating spoons. Simply melt your preferred chocolate, whether dark or milk, and pour it into the moulds. Allow the chocolate to set and then carefully remove the cups from the moulds.
For those seeking a truly indulgent hot chocolate experience, tempering chocolate is the way to go. While it may seem daunting, my tutorial on tempering chocolate, available on my channel, will guide you through the process step by step. Tempering ensures that the chocolate has a glossy finish, a satisfying snap, and a smooth texture. However, if tempering is not within your comfort zone, there's no need to worry. The best compound chocolate, readily available in stores, can be used as a substitute. It delivers a consistently rich chocolate flavor without the need for tempering, making it a convenient choice for beginners and time-conscious individuals.
Now that we have our chocolate cups and either tempered or compound chocolate, it's time to make the perfect hot chocolate. Begin by heating a glass of milk to your desired temperature. Stir in the chocolate cup, allowing it to melt and infuse the milk with its rich flavor. As the chocolate dissolves, the hot chocolate will become wonderfully creamy and decadent. If you prefer an extra-thick chocolate flavor, opt for dark chocolate, known for its intense taste. Remember to adjust the sweetness according to your preference by adding sugar or sweeteners.
Discovering practical tools and supplies on eBay is a game-changer for any aspiring chocolatier. The affordable spoon silicone moulds provide the perfect shape for chocolate cups, and their reusable nature ensures multiple uses. Additionally, disposable piping bags, also found on eBay, simplify the process and eliminate the need for post-use washing. Embrace the convenience and ease these products offer, allowing you to focus on the art of creating delicious hot chocolate.
Indulging in a perfect cup of hot chocolate is a delightful experience. So sit back, sip your decadent creation, and enjoy the cozy comfort of a perfect hot chocolate.

If you were to make a few of them ahead of time how long does the chocolate last without the fat separating (turning cloudy)?
I normally make about 15 and we have it within a month... If you've tempered your chocolate then it should be good for months. Just put them in airtight container :)
Doesn't the chocolate spoons melt on your fingers when you stir hot beverages?
They sure look good.
How do you eat with chocolate spoons? Do you wrap them with a napkin? Isn't the spoon going to melt when you hold it in your fingers? It would be nice to have a thin breadstick on the end of the chocolate spoon to hold on to. 🙂
hi, yes you could have a breadstick...or you could use the chocolate spoon stir the super hot milk till the spoon also melts and dissolves...I used this on my small stubby mugs if your using it for standard mugs then when purchasing the spoon silicone mould buy the larger size...
hi, this is a great tutorial. I am having a problem with my chocolate turning white after setting. am I doing something wrong?
hi Gemma, I have went through ALOT of experiences while working with chocolate but unfortunately my chocolate hasn't even turned white so I would have no idea why thats happening to you :( :(
Is this couverture chocolate or compound chocolate
I love ❤️❤️
Which kind of chocolate can I use to make chocolate spoons
Do coco need to be added
Can you add a video of the chocolate you used?
Hi Denae if your from Australia... I normally use cadbury/lindt milk chocolate and I temper it. If I'm not going to temper the chocolate I like to use Nestle melts (its a compound chocolate so you dont have to temper it...) all are from coles or safeway...
If I wanted to mail it to someone how would I do it without the chocolate melting
Ive never sent chocolate through the mail so to be honest I have no idea how itd travel...maybe if you speak to someone from the post they could give you advice?...
Is there a sugar free vegan version of this?
Ive never worked with vegan chocolate to be honest. But I will make a video soon on vegan chocolate. A few people have asked so its something I'm curious about.
A waste of piping bags. You could have simply poured the chocolate into the moulds and cups. So wasteful.
Plastic, plastic, plastic!!! Are these actually recyclable or compostable in your city??? 💜
Damn......can you talk any faster???
I have slowed down 😂
It might be better if you don't say youz
