I thought most of the burl was going to end up on the floor. I was very pleased to see you set up your coring system. Good for you David, thanks for the video. 😎
Lovely piece, very rustic, felt sure you'd give it a few ltrs of black and honey resin. Cool extended chuck key for the cole jaws. I'm assuming you you had your drive on the foot to remove the sacrificial block to save loading the piece. Is it particularly fragile?
I can see an orange outside with a face cut out as a one of a kind jack o lantern candy dish for Halloween. Unfortunately that means it wouldn’t be seen as much as it deserves. Maybe a cheap log for a future project?
Beautiful bit of oak burl. I’m so glad you cored it. Beautiful piece.
What a fun piece of timber. Beautiful David.
Absolutely gorgeous! ❤❤❤

Great looking piece from that massive bowl! I can’t wait to see the other bowl you make from the core.
Stunning! ❤
Spectacular piece of turning
That thing is huge 😮 The piece you took out of the middle looks big enough to be another bowl. Impressive work. 🎉😊

We can't afford your art but thank you for letting us watch it being made, it's just beautiful.

May I ask, where did you get the huge negative rake scrapers?
What did you spray on the wood about 40 seconds in to the video and why?
