The "fake" intake between the top of the grill and the hood is actually specifically there to create an area of turbulent air moving over the center of the hood that helps with the functionality of the heat extractor. It is a functional piece, just not in the way most people would normally expect.
They are but unfortunately cadillac can't escape the stigma that their cars are what our father and grandfather drives. They're for old people. Its a lot cooler to be seen in a BMW M4 than a Cadillac Ats V
Joe, according to Cadillac, the interior carbon is genuine. The weave and finish do a good job of making it look cheap. I picked up a 19 ATS-V, one of 4 Wave metallic with the 6 speed last December. I love it! I love the fact that you don't really see them around. Coming from an M4, I will say the interior isn't quite as nice, and not a fan of the touchscreen, although I don't hate CUE as much as I thought I would. The latest Gen actually isn't that bad. It's also way more comfortable, the Recaros are way more comfortable than the M seats. The handling doesn't feel quite as sharp, but steering feel is better. I also like that all the driver settings can be set completely independant from one another, including rev match which BMW ties in with throttle mode. Flat foot shift is awesome! The instrument cluster could be better, but with a little bit of work and programming, a CTS-V lcd cluster can be retrofitted.
Great owner perspective! Honestly the only thing keeping me lukewarm on the car is the cluster. Do you know anyone who’s actually done the retrofit or just are aware of it? I’m sure I would get used to the gauges.
@@effa114 I've actually done the retrofit in my own car. It does take some modding, and cutting of the dash, but you can't see the modifications when it's back together, and the stock cluster can still go back in and you would never know. I did a partial programming with a GM scan tool, so everything works, but I have no mileage display (mileage is stored in the ecu, so no worries about odometer tampering) and I don't have the gear display for the 6mt. White Automotive Engineering can custom program it to get mileage and 6 mt info to show up, just haven't gotten around to sending it out yet.

The CTS-V has changed my view towards the Cadillac brand. At first I thought it was for exclusive CEO or for elderly people as their target but when this one came out, I'm so excited about how the car looks and the performance of it too. Looking good and I really like the style of it. The design is aggressive but not overdone. Just perfect and I love it.
I'm so impressed with Cadillac making a car like that with a 6 speed. Hopefully 2021 will show improvement because I would prefer this ATS-V over the new model. It's why I bought my B8.5 S4 over the new model at the time because the 6 speed in a luxury performance ride is where it's at. Great review Joe!
I've always loved the ATS-V, especially the coupe. My preferred way to get the Alpha chassis. My big zonk would be the Chevy Cavalier style gauges. The CT4 is a huge improvement in that regard.
I needed more utility, but the ATS V's are fabulous. The Coupe is one of the most graceful designs ever, understated, elegant. It's more of a hooligan than my Civic Type R.
I just picked up a new leftover '19 velocity red manual coupe in the DC area, one of 3 manuals in that color for '19. Absolutely love it. It's a sports car when it needs to be and a luxury cruiser when it needs to be. I will note that there are 5 "hidden" driving modes within the "Track" mode if you have that option. Very comfy Recaro seats. The carbon fiber is real on the inside. CUE is OK with me but I get why some might be frustrated. My only issues are I wish I didn't have to turn Rev Match on every time I start the car, and storage space is sparse, even by coupe standards. I do note that it will remember driving mode (sport, track, tour), unlike my old BMW. Lookswise it is beautiful and there's nothing else like it. I get compliments nearly every time I take it out.
I have and love a 2011 CTS-V. That V6 sounds good. I also have 2013 Audi S5 with a supercharged V6 It is fun but I don't think it's as cool as the Caddy. Thanks for the Vlog!

I've had a '16 6M 62K mile sedan for about 1.5 years. The sedan was just more practical for me, and it's easier to get out of. It's a great car. The main knocks for me are: the Que screen will fail though it's not a bad $120 DIY job to fix, the cluster could be nicer, the Recaro seat heaters are the worst in any car I've ever owned, the brake parts are very expensive, 2nd gear is VERY notch in cold weather until the trans warms up, the nannies are too tight unless you put it into one of the hidden performance driving modes then the shocks are too stiff for the crappy roads around here. On the plus side: It's very quick and doesn't loose too much performance in summer heat, can get 30mpg on the open road, warms up very quickly, and it's got to be one of the easiest cars to build into a 500+ rwhp beast. Bigger people seem to be comfortable in the Recaro seats where smaller people like the base seats. It's shocking, but some of these cars were built with halogen headlights. Hi Joe, these V model Cadillacs are sort of cool I suppose. But in my opinion, Cadillac needs to bring back the Fleetwood Brougham model. A new model with rear wheel drive bias, a V8 and full luxury amenities. They made the CT6 but it was front wheel drive I believe and it wasn't as long or luxurious as the old Fleetwood Caddy's of the 1970s. Its shameful GM pursued the German sports sedan market and abandoned the traditional American luxury market. That's why they are not selling many sedans any more. They don't make the right kind of sedan! Good review here as always Joe. It wouldn't be the type of Caddy that I'd buy. If I want some handling and high performance, I go with new Alfa Romeo! Or BMW M line of cars.
@@RaitisRides That's true Joe. But they haven't tried bringing back really large American luxury sedans. They've focused on sport sedans and mostly SUV's. The demand for SUV's is so disturbing to me. I can't stand the damn things. Ridiculous tanks. So much more luxurious to be sitting on a big huge leather seat cruising along in silence of a smooth riding car, like a 1973 Fleetwood Brougham! ha ha ha Ahhhh those good ol days!
@@23Piccolina you are right, but this is the choice of today's customers. The oil will shoot up again as it has before. Hopefully, something will change then. Regardless of that, the era of fun to drive traditional cars is coming to an end. With everything electric and self driving, manual driving will go the way of horseback riding.
I always loved the look, exterior of this, and available manual, but the price was out of reach. Heck I loved their electric car coupe too for looks, but again priced way too high.

I am so glad that you like this one Jeremey!
I don't think GM has faith in sedans. Thanks for sharing that great insight!
Nobody wants sedans anymore, unfortunately. Everyone wants crossovers and SUVs.
The right kind of a sedan today is the Escalade
@@RaitisRides That's true Joe. But they haven't tried bringing back really large American luxury sedans. They've focused on sport sedans and mostly SUV's. The demand for SUV's is so disturbing to me. I can't stand the damn things. Ridiculous tanks. So much more luxurious to be sitting on a big huge leather seat cruising along in silence of a smooth riding car, like a 1973 Fleetwood Brougham! ha ha ha Ahhhh those good ol days!
@@nsbioy Despicable beast of iron. Might as well drive a tank! No class riding around in some huge tall pile of metal.
Awesome review for a great car. But no room for twinkies?
It's a little tight!
On throttle 🔥🔥🔥
HOLD ON!
I wished Cadillac continued with the design Que's on the new models.
You should create a zonk meter for each car.
That's a really great idea!
I like the snack jokes 🤣
I always loved the look, exterior of this, and available manual, but the price was out of reach.
Heck I loved their electric car coupe too for looks, but again priced way too high.
This is what GM should be putting out.
I totally agree with you!
Beautiful car!!!!!!
I am so glad that you like this one!
I love this!
this guy is a comedian
Hey joe why do u use zonk?😆
It is just my way Anthony to say something isn't right or needs improvement.
Did you review the Dodge Challenger "Hellcat Widebody"? If not then I would like to see one.
It is on the channel.
