  • Fuji X-T5 PHOTOGRAPHING RURAL VERMONT ! While taking a trip up to Vermont to ski I had some time to stop and take in some of the beautiful scenery that was zipping past my window. In this episode I stop in Newfane Vermont on Rt. 30 and photograph some of the buildings in the town square. It was a gray day and the light was just not right but I hung in there and found a couple of decent images after they were processed. The Fujifilm X-T5 was the perfect camera for the job! Nice and light and full of features. I used the Fuji 16-80 as my lens of choice because of it's range. So versatile with the 24-120 mm FF equivalent.
    If you're looking for a camera that's perfect for capturing the natural beauty of rural Vermont, then the Fuji X-T5 is the camera for you! This camera is perfect for capturing the soft light and warm colors of the countryside.

    I love it when photographers take me to new places when they go out to shoot but damn that looks cold to me as I sit here snowless in Tucson Arizona. Thanks for braving the elements for the rest of us.

    Nice work ! Loving your edits. I too use the X-T5 with the 16-80 mostly, edits aside, I think the 5 is an amazing camera. I'm learning new things about it all the time, for me there is so much untapped potential.

      All the new Fuji cameras are kind of like that. Lots of untapped potential. I need to explore the camera more and talk about it.

    Thanks for sharing this - Newfane, VT is/was the home of the amazing B&W Photographer, Fred Picker and his Zone VI Studio - my entire darkroom consisted of Zone VI gear and then digital came alone ... I look forward to any info of your photographic workshops in the future. Have a great Sunday.

      Thanks John - it's a a great little town/village. I should have this fall three day workshop nailed down by the end of this month. I will talk about it more when I get it ironed out. I will also post it on the workshop page of capeannphototours.com

    Where's a tree surgeon when you need one 😂😂! Looks a lovely town and the pre-sets really do bring out more detail, (as much as UA-cam compression allows.

      In the winter you can really see the branches that get in the way. Autumn maybe the best time to go back and take a look.

    Hi Kirk, thanks for the video. My first thought was, here is something a chainsaw could fix, but really thanks I enjoyed your video. I have just started watching and subscribing. As a photographer from Australia I get a lot of joy watching others tackle location issues. I have a lot of problems as I have to photograph from a 4x4 X8 wheelchair.
    Despite the limitations I love the challenge. Cheers from Australia

      Thanks Hanz yes a chainsaw would have been helpful. Have fun with the craft even with the limitations.

    Kirk, what did you mean that you were using the non-resolving 16-80mm lens? What does non-resolving mean? I ask because I use that lens.

    • @KirkWilliamsonphotography
      @KirkWilliamsonphotography  Рік тому +1

      Guy - Fuji published a list of the X lenses that resolve 40mp and the 16-80 was not on it. So the comment was kind of tongue and cheek.I love using that lens on the X-T5.

    I'd have liked to see that first shot at 16mm but from ground level, positioned closer to the monument. IMHO the tripod works against you as it stifles your repositioning and there's no need for it if you're shooting at 1/250, especially as both body and lens are stabilised...

      Yes I agree. That is normally what I would do but I wanted to slow myself down and concentrate a little more. did it help much maybe a little.

    After watching your video, I don't understand why you chose that title. Clickbait, yes but it kind of doesn't make sense.

      Changing the angle and the switch to B&W made all the difference between an image that sucks and one that doesn’t.
