    Thanks for another info packed video Dee. Always to the point, no BS. Your point about the previous generation of Fuji cameras still being very good is spot on. This is especially true for amateurs/enthusiasts to keep in mind. I bought an XT-3 barely used about two years ago. It's still a great camera, especially considering what you get for the price. With the new bodies out there are lots of XT-3/T4 bodies out there for sale at some great prices. Lots of lenses for sale too. I was lucky enough to find a V1.0 XF56 and an XF90 in mint condition at silly prices by being patient and shopping like crazy. Again, thanks for your fun and fnformative videos. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!

    Xh2 over the xt5 makes total sense for an extra $300. Full size hdmi port, better thermal performance, flip screen, external prores raw. That’s A LOT more things for only $300 more.

      All the things you mentioned are things that literally don’t matter to a lot of people just as much as they matter to some. For still photography - which is what a lot of people love the XT line for - none of that means anything. Not everything is about videography or hybrid.

    That's cool to find YOUR instrument for your style of work and I get it that Fujifilm APS-C cameras suits your style of photography perfectly. I've already seen dozen of your videos with various cameras with various sensor sizes but your pictures are always in that particular style. Funky colors, crispy random memories. I dig it! Great illustration that person makes photos - not a camera or a sensor size

    Great review...I totally agree. Most of my magazine work was shot with the XT3 and XT4 and some with the GFX. I just got my XH2 and for all intents and purposes, for a standard-sized magazine, it is difficult to see the difference.

    I can’t wait for your straight forward cold Turkey video about the XH2s. I don’t need the 40MP it cost too much, I leaned over the XH2s even if it costs more but to me, 26MP is more than enough with less space in my hard drives. After all I’m just a 50+ years old enthusiast that have shoot since the 70’s. Great video young man! I love your sincerity, it keeps us on true course!

    Hi Dee, Just wanted to say thanks for the time and effort that you put into these videos. I just turned 71, so that makes me a "Boomer" I guess. I really like your no "B.S" approach. As for the XH2, sounds like a good camera, but, at my age, I'm kind of done buying new cameras.
    Anyway, keep up the great work, and don't stop ruffling up a bunch of people's feathers :)
    It's Christmas time and I also want to wish you and your family a great Holiday. With the New Year coming, again I hope all the best to you and family.
    Lastly, I'm looking forward to seeing the Phillies spank some Dodgers' butt in the coming year..... Trea Turner should help :)

    I rented an XH-2s camera for a recent dance performance in the theater. I use my Nikon Z8 and Z9 for this type of photography, but the electric shutters in these two cameras will have banding issues in spite of the stacked sensors. I purchased an XT-5 a few months ago because I was fed up with Nikon's anemic DX mirrorless system, so I traded all of my DX Nikon mirrorless gear for the XT-5 and a couple of lenses. The XH-2s is a fast little beast and the mechanical shutter is so quiet that even the audience members right next to me didn't even notice the shutter sound. Nikon's mirrorless cameras have much quieter shutter sounds than their DSLRs, but they are noticeably louder than my XT-5 and the rented XH-2s cameras. I don't have nearly the banding issues with mechanical shutters. This banding is due to theaters that use cheap LED lights. I will rent the XH-2 camera and compare it to my experience with the XH-2s. You are absolutely correct that the real proof of the pudding, as far as image quality goes, is in actual larger prints. I am saddened that many cell phone users don't realize this. I enjoy your channel!

    I took a 24mp image and printed to 24x36, took the same 24mp and enhanced it with the newest AI resolution bumping software (200% bump) and printed the same 24x36. You couldn't tell the difference. Both were set at 300 DPI. Hanging on a wall they looked exactly the same. This whole mp war thing is out of hand. But, you know as well as I do, if someone says it's bigger, faster, better, people think they need it. A lot of money has been wasted thanks to marketing.

    Love your honest videos, and just subscribed.
    I have an X-T3 and and an X-T4, and was all excited about possibly upgrading to an X-T5, but it seems from your video that I would have little benefit doing that, as my main issue is taking pictures of my grandkids indoors, where ISO 8000, for example, is pretty common, and the new 40 megapixel sensor doesn't seem to do visibly better in low light, high ISO situations.
    I could hopefully benefit from the better focusing, but I'm not sure that's enough. I also considered the X-H2; I don't mind the extra $300, but I don't need the extra video capabilities.
    Any thoughts on my dilemma? I'm assuming you purchased and are mainly use the X-H2.

    • @matt88169
      @matt88169 Рік тому +1

      Your dilemma is solved by incorporating a flash. ISO performance on each of the cameras is so similar it’s really a moot point. You need more light, not more camera. $110 Godox flash will change your life (especially if you add an XPro trigger).

    Honestly after I did the comparison between XT5 (same sensor as XH2) and the XT3. The RAWs looked EXACTLY the same and the focus is not that much better in my opinion.
    Next year I will buy the XT4 with discount for the ibis, but I don’t see why I need a newer camera as an original Fuji shooter.

    But they are an upgrade, in every way really.
    The XH-2s has the same MP count as the X-T4, but I will guarantee you it's a better camera in just about every way.

    If you have made an image that is sharp down to pixel level. Gigapixel can make it twice as big without anyone can see that is was enlarged. But it have to be well sharp image.
    Secondly since 26 and 40mp are not that far from each other, You can see the difference on a well made sharp image on the finer detail on a large screen. There is that depthness you get by the finer detail. Also in 8k on a very high definition large screen You WILL notice the difference.

  • @matthieuzglurg6015

    I have the feeling that people have forgotten that we are actually logarithmic creatures, not linear creatures. Our perception of the world is based off biological and analog sensors in our body that don't have a linear response AT ALL.
    This is no mistake that the audible noise is measured in dB which is a logaritmic scale. +3dB is equal to a factor 2 on a linear scale. A 46dB(A) noise created twice as much atmospheric pressure as a 43dB(A) noise. All that matters is how it differs, because that's the only thing our biological sensors can measure. And we start noticing this difference when it reaches a factor 2 or 3 in some cases.
    And that applies to image resolution as well. 40MP is 14MP more than 26MP. That's like a 53% increase, nowhere near enough for us to be able to catch the difference right away without pixel peeping (I would even argue that ever since 24MP became the industry standard, it's been harder and harder to tell right away if that was a "high resolution sensor" (according to marketing) or not)
    Sure, the 40MP sensor is a very nice thing to have, that's less extrapolation work for big prints, that's more cropping power. But if people think they can crop 200% as much with the X-H2 compared to what they could do with the X-T4, only with about a 50% increase in resolution, they're delusional.

    • @technodronesogxl9783
      @technodronesogxl9783 Рік тому

      @Dee Rosa 24x36 and at times 27x40 dimension enlargements. One thing that you mentioned about saving 300.00 with an Xt5 would be IF you were only looking for 40mp. Shooting in burst mode with a Cfexpress slot with better buffering, pro res video, having a full size HDMI port, 8k video, bigger battery grip for people with large hands like myself, and a better EVF for 300.00 more is a no brainer unless you had to have a smaller camera with a flip up screen without the mentioned above. Each Trans 5 iteration has its place, it seems.
      If you say that the XH2 can be side stepped for the XT5 and save 300.00, are you saying that the XH2S is worthy of the 900.00 more as opposed to 300.00 for the features of the XH2. I feel that the Xt5 is OK but a downgrade of the XT4 without those features for the sake of the classic dials and flip up screen.

    • @DeeRosa
      @DeeRosa  Рік тому +1

      I’m guessing you may have an issue with what I said? You repeated what I said in my video - I’d you only need 40mp stills in situations where high speed shooting or 8K aren’t needed then you can save $300 (you’ll also save with not having to buy CFeB cards and readers) and buy the XT5. It’s 95% of the XH2. The grip being comfortable is a thing that people will decide for themselves.
      I have big hands. I don’t mind small cameras only bad ergonomics (ie my Leica) and the XT5 has enough grip to do just fine for portrait sessions, weddings etc where bigger longer lenses aren’t going to be on for hours.
      Now about the XH2s. Yes it’s worth the extra $900 if you’re going to use it for more than SLOW PACED portrait shoots. I feel like I have to keep talking to you guys about use case scenarios. I’m sorry I don’t make up how I use these cameras or made up scenarios and I tell you my actual use in field. I used the XH2s (have a whole review on it) for professional matches and the MLS playoffs and it’s 2 steps ahead of both of the mentioned cameras.
      It’s not only faster with AF but read/write and the buffer clears within 2 seconds always after filling it. Stacked sensor tech is always top tier. It’s why the Sony A9mk1 still has better performance for almost everything over even the A7IV. That tech lasts longer because the ability of the included sensor. To get a stacked sensor for $2500 ($3K cheaper than the next alternative) is astounding.
      So yeah. The XH2s is worth it.
      I don’t know how else I can put this considering I put it in two videos and said verbatim just this.
