This is like a blessing for devastation mains. Since we are usually overshadowed by our younger brother augmentation in mythic plus, there are barely any high key videos with devastation evoker pov. Let alone one with commentary. It would be quite helpful if you could make videos for season 4 mythic plus. Also mythic raid videos where you explain what you do when would be great too.
it’s a pretty complicated topic to explain over a comment, so i can refer you to preheat or wowhead’s guide here: www.wowhead.com/guide/classes/evoker/devastation/rotation-cooldowns-pve-dps. this has a section on clipping if you scroll down. it’s an extremely important mechanic to understand as dev!
naw, it definitely does not. if you’re looking at overall dmg on WCL, it says we’re pretty high, but that’s just because dev can pad while doing great AoE. if you look at its boss dmg, it’s middle of the pack. our APL is kinda wonky and assumes a lot of things, so our sims always look cracked. overall, dev is in a good spot, but it’s not as strong as DH, rogue, or mage.
hmm, yeah the dh prob would’ve probably pulled ahead because at the time, it was BONKERS. they still are, but everyones been buffed a bit, and they’ve been nerfed. the mage with pi wouldn’t have caught me, though. pi is best for dev in this composition. it’s not entirely about who is going to do the most dmg with pi, it’s about who is going to benefit/gain the most from it.
I see you are using Atrocity UI. It seems like you added the 4pc tracking to the buffs. What is the spell ID you are using? When I add 424402 for Emerald Trance, I get a blank icon for the buff.
Hi. What embelishments do u use, do they give noticable dmg increase? Are trinkets without intellect (like branch or sea star) much worse for devastation? Why wowhead guide ranks Mirror of fractured tomorrows as "A+" trinket? if my max secondary is crit, it gives like +18% crit with a big 3min CD, isnt that too little effect?
i use the acidic heiltreads or whatever they’re called, and i use the adaptive arm bracers. the must as a dev evoker is the adapative bracers, but the treads are only good in raid. for m+, you could consider the legs that give vers or maybe lariat if you have all gems socketed with haste. ultimately, embellishments are really weak, so don’t worry too much. for trinkets, im not too sure. you want to be using nymues and belorelos, which both come from raid. mirror is probably quite strong, but it doesnt line up with our cds. i think mirror’s power comes from the duplicate rather than the stat buff.

If I had to guess, I would say he’s using Atrocity’s UI package, (a lot of people use his UI) and that package is gated behind a subscription wall… sharing it with you would be slightly unethical… I sub to Atrocity as well, and if you go to his Twitch page and sub to him (it’s like 3.99 a month or something) you get his installer and his preloaded UI package which comes with the weakauras and the Elvui setups for healer, tank, and DPS right out of the box

Great video! Though I dont think zephyr works on the 3. boss as the bolts are targeted on players and not actually aoe.

yeah, i had to set the icon myself. you can find the icon on wowhead, it’s from legion. the icon id is 1394953 :)
