I've been doing this for nearly 20 years. I'm 37 now, I have two kids, and I work full-time but I still give it my all. I think now I work harder than I ever have before and I keep reaching new milestones. I went from just 1000 streams on SoundCloud last year to nearly 200,000 streams this year alone. Big love man. I always find your content super inspiring and relatable. Thanks mate! 🙏
I am 14 and started djing in April and I am now djing at senior party’s and playing house music doing what I love and I want to be on that big stage one day and I will!
@@D_Ber I learnt to DJ around the same age. Which means I've been doing this for longer than 20 years but sometimes I'm embarrassed to admit that. I wish you all the best on your journey mate!
Honestly insane respect for your sound check guy (Rash?). I feel like he's the one that always has to deal with the shit so James doesn't have to. You're lucky with a guy like that. Seems like he also misses out on a lot of sleep.
Just came out of dj retirement got my first gig in 17 years at a bowling alley opposite Finsbury park station playing base house. All new stuff can't wait to see if the music goes down.
Really good video. I am currently your student on DJ Tips. I recently uploaded a video of myself Djing years ago. And then my parents caught me Djing and forced me to quit to become a pilot and go to Oxford to finish a postgraduate. I just graduated from Oxford and now going back to being a DJ. Thanks for being an inspiration. Hearts.
Big thanks to tell how is REAL DJ, your vlog are so real. You show what is rejection, the down that djs go through and you went through to get there. Other djs dont show this and so big merit to you.
man for real, for me it feels like the key to being a dj/producer is just never stop and keep going, and yeah i do make a complete different genre, but man your videos keep me so damn motivated and let me dream big for my future, thanks a lot for your content, it really helps me
James you are a truly inspiring role model for a lot of people, including me. I've been working hard with the music for the past year, but most of the songs are not good. You have convinced me to keep going. I wish you and your team all the best!
I'm 53, about 15 years ago I used to DJ several clubs and events. But life happened, kids, work, etc. For the last 15 years I've been more of a bedroom DJ. I'm taking the plunge and buying full pioneer set to get reacquainted with the club standards. I'm yearning to go back into the clubs and raves, but to be honest feeling imposter syndrome. But DJs like Carl Cox, and many others who aren't even world famous give me some hope that I too can go out and share my love of music
Very inspiring James! As someone who has been DJ'ing for 4 years now and just started music production this past year, it can definitely be a lot at times but as you stated - you just gotta keep pushing, little by little each day. Glad to have someone like you to look up to in the DJ Stratosphere.
You're too talented and filled with too good of vibes for those hater/sold-out channels!!! Keeping it goes against the grain unfortunately, but you're completely Undeniable and Unstoppable James hype!!! 💪🔥💪
Hey James! Big fan from Egypt here! I absolutely love your energy and your music. It would be amazing if you could bring your incredible shows to Egypt! We've got a passionate crowd that would go wild for your beats. Hope to see you rocking the stage in Egypt soon!
I listen yesterday 7sec , I Shazam it and I already used in my story as song , I did a gym synchro perfecto with it ! And I love your work , I saw you live at least 10 times , and in we one this year at tml I came to see you closing Crystal garden ! Amazing set ! We love you !
I started djing again after 15 years. I’m 45 and I’m playing all over the world, at home. It’s not something I would I quit at this point. I’ve realized that you don’t have to be a huge name and that as long as you keep up with the music and play for your friends. Amazing things will always happen
I’m 44 and in the USA. I’ve DJed consistently since I was 19, but have always maintained a fulltime job as well for the insurance, 401k, etc. I own a wedding business and handle my local market on the East Coast, but I would LOVE to do some djing in other countries and even other states in the US. …..I’ve got to spend some time this winter figuring out how to make that happen. If you’ve got content on the subject I would love to check it out!
I love u guys with Tita Lau you are yours are amasing And love of lot us who love your energy with out now names..maybe will be play one day why not?! Mannn is insane you twooo❤️❤️🙏🏼
Kool James, did loads of touring in 87' when I produced my first Number 1, so Loved this On the Road Vid boss...Still out there playing Private NDA Celeb gigs, but all good. I see you are staying Clear of the Gear ish, yes that was me who said that to you, but makes sense...Blessings, JJx
I just love your music and your videos. I’ve been DJ ing since 1990. Obviously I don’t do clubs anymore haven’t since 04. Lots of reasons but I still mix at home. I love your message on this video. ❤❤❤ come to America, come to St. Louis Missouri or close anyway so I can see you live. Thx!!! Who does this. We do brother. 😊

Tienes razón hype, yo llevo muchos años siendo DJ y eh tenido muchos rechazos para pinchar en discotecas y aún así no me rindo sigo haciendo lo que amo y me gusta la música y la creatividad
It was a bit sad that they put the outdoor mainstage to another place, and it also wasnt as beautiful as last year. Hopefully they put it back next year where it was last year. The reason could be that the german Bundesliga already started and the football team needed the place right after the festival, probably. Thanks for coming back to Frankfurt. Hopefully see you next year!
this is why i watch your stuff because your a humble dude, and want others to succeed not to keep it all to yourself, stay humble stay hype......hype.hype bitch ❤❤❤💯💯💥💥
14:20 James is speaking the TRUTH MAN😎 most of these DJ aren’t really dj’ing 😏 James can mix anything, just give him a sample 1-2 hours & he’ll make it happen 🦾
I sincerely think this is a young-man’s game. I hope you can keep on doing this James for a very long time but once you hit 50 it might feel more difficult. Keep Hyping! And surely, who does this? 🤪
Please cross fingers.. have been a singer (rock, metal, pop, jazz) and a musician for 25 years, but starting learn how to DJ now and hope to produce my songs finally. the hardest thing - to not let yourself down, cuz we all tend to do so. Just yeah, fuck it, do that, who does this if not you?!
Ngl 7 Seconds, the one you had on soundcloud, felt more powerful than the one on spotify, and 1min 30s was a lil too short for this fire of a track. Loved the one on soundcloud, spotify feels off 😅

Heard you were in with Mr Jam last night at capitol dance and I was out with works colleagues for drinks - Flew over to leister square as fast as I could to try and see if I could meet you but missed you some how - Out of curiosity did you leave by the front or back door? New track is wicked by the way
I was forced to quit because on my small town there is no place to play if you dont want to play village/commerial/radio music 😅Sorry but then its more like a regular nasty job where you're doing something what you don't want. I'm sad because of this because club culture died in my town, there was a lot of nice clubs where playing was just a pure pleasure... but not now. sad reality...
