Soft pastels are really beautiful, and these by Jackson's seem lovely. How do you plan to use them? I see that you are use mostly acrylic with some Caron d"ache.
Yes I would certainly recommend them. I'm still experimenting and trying to layer them on top of acrylic paint to add some texture and bright pops of colour. I'm also wondering if I could use them with water as glazes over the acrylic but have yet to try this. I've been using them a lot in my sketchbooks too just on their own. It's all about play at the moment :)
Enjoyed your video! I just ordered some of these pastels myself and you’ve made me very excited! We went for a few of the same colours 😄
You chose some pretty coloured soft pastels. The Jackson soft pastels have such a nice consistency and lay down very well. Hope you enjoy them.
Thank you so much. I've really enjoyed them so far and I'm just getting used to using them in mixed media paintings :)
You may enjoy using rubbing alcohol instead of water.....they fix better and limit paper buckling. I'll be interested to see what you do with them!
Ah thank you so much. I'll give this a go.
