Dear Kate, I wish you a happy and healthy New Year too. I love your videos, especially the ones where you create collagen. You might like to make more videos of this. What I still really appreciate are normal slow videos in regular time, without fast playback. Then your videos will last longer, which would be really nice. Have fun implementing your goals in 2025. Kind regards ☺
Thank you so much. I'll definitely be doing more collage videos and thank you for the feedback on creating videos in real time. I'll try to do this more often too. All the very best for 2025! x
If you use rubbing alcohol it will lift more of the pastel pigment and you maintain a more saturated colour, plus it dries faster, just watch the fumes though!
I thought this was fantastic! I have all of these supplies (except Neocolor II), and I'm going to try this kind of mixed media work. I very much liked the way you set out all your materials and just got started. The colors are beautiful.
Thank you so much. Have fun! Yes getting started is sometimes the hardest part and I find when I limit myself to just a few colours it's a little less daunting.
Happy New Year Kate. I've just discovered your channel and I've liked and subscribed I'm starting a new medium to me this year 2025, which is Gouache, starting in sketchbooks. Over here rubbing alcohol is called Surgical Spirits, and for pastels I use the stuff from the pharmacy off the shelf, it's about £1.95 for a 200ml bottle, but it goes a long way, but it has a strong smell that dissipates very quickly. Gü desserts, WOW! love em a bit too much😂. Thanks very much Kate, David from Lancashire. xx
Thank you so much, pleased to have you here! Ah that's great are you using traditional gouache or acrylic gouache? Thanks for the advice on surgical spirits and yes now that I've found a use for the Gu pots it's quite dangerous haha! x
I'm using traditional gouche Kate, but I paint in acrylics and watercolour as well. I have a diploma in botanical illustration. I have always fancied gouche so this is the year! xx
Your work is lovely 🙂🇬🇧
would love to see more collage landscapes and how to blend pieces in to look more cohesive. maybe some trial and error videos too
Thanks so much for the suggestions. Blending pieces into a collage is really tricky so that's a great topic idea.
This felt like watching an unrestrained act of freedom. Really beautiful and inspiring! Thank you and happy New Year to you as well!
Thank you! Your comment means a lot. Ooo yes I haven't done a sketchbook tour for a while so will add this to the list. x
Hi. I really enjoyed your video. I’ve just started my UA-cam journey, and it’s really inspiring to hear about other people’s work and processes.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment. Oh that's super exciting! Wishing you all the best with your channel x

Ah that sounds really interesting, thank you very much for the advice.
Loved this! I’m really interested in these loose mixed media landscapes.
Thank you very much! They'll definitely be more videos on loose landscapes coming up :)
