Make your own nursery! take 2-4 of the plugs and cut them into 4 smaller pieces and grow them in pots. These always come in handy for spot repairs. I also do this with stolons from the edges (put them in flower pots).
I ordered them online from trysodpods.com/ It's a bit late in the season to plant more. Unless you are very far South I suggest you wait until next June.
I have no idea. A friend of mine hates centipede grass because of the way it spreads. If you are interested in trying I'd suggest getting one box of sod plugs and planting them densely, all inside a three foot by three food space and see which grass wins. If you don't like the centipede grass it's a cheap way to see if zoysia is works in you lawn. Good luck!
Yes, Zoysia will take forever but it will overtake the centipede. Verticutting will help since centipede grows by runners only. Goodluck and God bless🙏
I think it's Zeon & Emerald. I plant some every year and don't always get the same variety. I know it is not Meyer. My grass struggles in the shade but does well in full sun and does well when we get more rain.
I was thinking same...I have same spots in my zoysia that showed up early spring. It's what I found too that it could be. They say grubs too but out of the few bare patches, 2 are perfect round spots and why I think fungus. Gonna treat my yard w some cedar and neem oil for some natural bug control and both are excellent for fungus too.
@@HiwasseeRiverbuddy, I have the pro plugger. Got it for $29 on manufacture website with a repainted spot. I can easily remove like 10 plugs in 15-30seconds. Walk over to plant spot, dump all 10 plugs at once, and pull another 10 plugs out that spot in like 10-30 seconds. It’s the bomb. The plugs are easy to come out. Sometimes I let them slide out one at a time right into my hand when I’m doing random single spots far apart in the yard.
Looking forward to the update.
Will do - the first batch of plugs is rooting in well. Me and the clouds are watering the plugs daily

I call that bootstrapping - I plan to do a vid on that - I use the cutter to cut plugs and spread zoysia for free. The cut hole grow back.
I'll post a video in one week to show you how the plugs root into the yard - the Tug-Test.
Awesome
Where did you buy your Zoysia from?

Can zoyia be planted a bit at a time into a centipede lawn?

What type of zoysia

When is a good time to plant zoysia plugs?
Anytime, just not in dormant time.. December to march.
@Bambamfamily Thank you. I'm in NJ, it's still frost early spring here. I would plant plugs once frost is gone.
I tend to plant it when the temperature reaches 80 degrees, usually in June
Pee spot rings at end of video might be a fungus
Thanks for that feedback - It's not bad right now but it bugs me.

Do yourself a favor and throw that plugger away. There’s a much easier plugger called a ProPlugger and there are plugs that fit the ProPlugger hole. 👀
Thanks for the suggestion. Something to think about when I beat my lawn butler to death. When you use it do the plugs fall out easily?
