I usually have an Albatross with double external fuel and Gimball that will stay about 1000m-1500m above the ground and just spot/direct support fire. The double fuel seems to give it more than enough for an entire island recon and assault. It seems that the cannon of the enemy drones only has a 800m-900m target acquisition range.

So far, in each of these vids I’ve had a “ahhhhh, I get it!” moment and this one in particular was just the job. By the way, when you apologised for a helicopter flying over your house.......... a helicopter flew over my house! :)
Thank you very much for the support! Yeah I think sometimes a little nudge in the right direction helps. I plan to do more station guides too for tips on how to operate each one. Crazy about the helicopter haha!
Amazing, i can't believe the Razor Helicopter didn't flip on the deck after it landed. -After that Drone's display of skills, i thou it would crash on the runway, like they sometimes do (even with low wind/waves)
Your missiles wasn’t got shot down, for ground targets never use send 2 option, because the missile will converge on the target and hit each other I know this because 1 shield islands never have AA defenses.
Ah so that's what happens! IR missiles seem to need a double tap to destroy most targets, but I was wondering why "Fire Double" never resulted in a kill.
IR missies on razorbills seems to not work. And after trying the other missiles I wouldn't use them there anyways. Laser guided missles can be directed by a gimbal camera from any vehicle and they shoot off AA missiles fine. So I use them as escorts when landing and as temporary missile batteries, letting my ablatross call guided missile strikes enmass.
Holy shit, I've been doing it wrong the whole time... this is good information, thanks! To be fair though, even in single-player I have captured islands ranked with 4 shields, but it cost me a lot of resources in the process. Now that I know some of these tactical tricks, perhaps I can minimize my losses next time.
I think IR missiles are support-only and require a lock-on from a camera, and since razorbills only have a static camera, the missiles don't launch if it's aiming even slightly to the side. Pretty sure they can theoretically keep a steady aim if you give them enough height and distance, but are really not made for that.
i think the razorbills still needs you to go to the camera and lock any target.. then it will do its attack run. i havent been able to get them to attack they way you do in the video either. i doubt they are actually working as intended. what i do often do tho. is launch, let em just hover. and shoot missiles manually. you dont even have to lock, IR missiles will gladly lock on to any signature in front of the helicopter and just kill that. im not a 100% here, but if you have friendlies downthere, and you Dont lock, i dont think the missile knows the difference. but havving 3-4 helos hovering just above hangar deck. manually fire 8 IR missles.. pop, pop .pop.pop.. there goes 4-6 targets :D mind you that anti air defenses can kill the missiles as they come down.
@@Atova yeah. I did think that after leaving the comment. Would sort of defeat the point of the whole automated attack thing... Plus your Albotross yeeted off its missiles no problem

I'm not to keen on Razorbills. They seem to have issues landing and using IR missiles. My early game close support platform tends to be albatrosses followed by mantas. Razorbills seem to have good use as a fast-launching Laser Missile platform or as a torpedo carrier.
I feel like this is so helpful and your channel need a lot more light to where this can a the lost people like who don’t know how to even use the gimbal cam because at first I was like how do I move this stupid camera and when I finally i noticed I was low health and got destroyed then later I cleared the island and forgot to save so I got to a two shields island and had to restart😂🤣
Are you able to lock missiles, etc to do manual attack runs with the aircraft? I have yet to find an intuitive feeling way to use them manually. I may see if I can attach a flight stick and maybe throttle just for use with the aircraft
You can yes, it tells you what key it is when you take the aircraft manually but I’m not a fan of the controls really. Maybe I just need more practice!
Do you have any way of determining what the safe distance is. At what range do they visually detect you? At what range does AI fire 30mm at you? What is the range of painting targets? There is not grid on the map. How do you know what distance you set?
Honestly no, and I would love to have that information so I could make a video on it. Needs a bit of testing and note making but no really clear way to measure distances either. Tough one, wish I could help more there
Well first make sure it is equipped on your vehicle. When you take over the vehicle select the number it is on your keyboard (Probably number 2), then press "r" to manually control it and "t" to change the mode.

I’m still trying some of these myself. The tracking view seems to lock more to where you are looking and helps more when firing from the carrier. Not sure on ranges, they may know in the discord we have here: discord.gg/gAGnV3BSYn
@@Atova I figured out the Laser guided missiles at least. I just had a helicopter with a few chill out somewhere far away, and then used my surveillance Albatrols' camera view to launch "guided missile", as one would with the gun battery.
tracking mode will keep the camera centered on the point you move it too, imagine a laser/line from airplane to ground. Once this line hits the ground it will track that point. Note that it is not tracked to a target, just a point on the ground. This is like the footage you see from a strike fighter on a bomb run or a COD gunship mission. Stabilized 'keeps it steady' and smooths out the bumps, but will not do much else. You'll want to use tracking mode whenever possible. Especially when using the "Guided Missile" weapon mode as you must guide in the laser guided missiles all the way to detonation.
