- Mongolians use mutton and/or beef brisket as a respectful meal when there is a special occasion. For example, during Tsagaan Sar, the winter solstice holiday and the traditional new year for Mongolians, they put the brisket on the most respectful place of the meal table. The brisket fat is zoogenic, and so is healthy and has no cholesterol. That's why Mongolians always use brisket fat and sheep tail as food to overcome the harsh, cold winter.

Love watching and learning the Mongolian culture. My Grandmother was born in Russia near the Mongolian border. She lived on a farm with her 16 brothers and sisters, Mother and Father. Her family moved out of Russia during the Bolshevik War they fled to Germany. When Grandma was 14 years old she came to America and live on a farm in Northern Wisconsin. I am 76% Russian and 24% Scandinavian.
