My husband and I have tried to go through their foster care program more than a few times and they keep saying no, they don’t need us right now. It’s horrible. I would take kids in to a safe home for as long as they need it.
Sounds like this business that received the contract from the state apparently got the inside assistance to win the contract & probably gave kickbacks to the individual that gave the business the contract. This is a perfect example of corruption. The individual in charge of management is most likely driving a Benz, live in a lavishly furnished home in a exclusive neighborhood, probably considered a pillared individual of the community & on a lavish vacation right now financed from the money the state gave to run the business. Charges needs to be brought not just to the individual in charge, but to anyone knowingly participating to the ongoing criminal abuse of these children. A corrupt business like this is not able to operate with just 1 person. The ceo, cfo, hr, management, the whole ABCs needs to be herded up & handcuffed & driven to the Pinellas County Jail! My hard earned tax being exploited by these scumbag blue collar criminals all while living a financially care free life. These individuals will most likely hire a high profile lawyer to represent them using the same money the state gave them & get off with a slap on the wrist & pay a onetime fine. Investigation needs to go all the way to the top, why was there no one from the state to audit to see how the money is being used, how the business was doing, yearly or quarterly personal visits to make sure the business complies with state mandates.
Absolutely disgusting! Those poor babies. They have had enough trauma and to have those that should be helping them do this 😭 thank you PCSO for stepping forward and holding these people accountable!!!

When placement from Eckerd is calling every night asking for you to take additional kids and you have to say no cause you have no bed space left, it’s absolutely heartbreaking that you can’t do more but you don’t understand that yet. Or sitting in these court hearings and feeling the kids are misrepresented but no one speaks for them so you, as a foster parent try, and the judge shoots you down even though you have spent more time since Covid with the kids, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles… but still have no influence on this kids life.

I suggest the criminal investigation might include a comparative analysis of funding per child, reasons for the disparity in numbers of kids in our jurisdiction vs other areas in the state, etc. If he (perhaps correctly) believes that doing that is beyond the scope of his investigation, I'd suggest an audit by a neutral entity (not DCF).
My kid is one of the night tonight kids and she told me it's even worse than what we're hearing from this man he's given the nice parts of it all the parts that he wants us to know about he's not telling about the down and downright dirtiness that's at that place it's really bad they got staff giving kids marijuana buying them vape cartridges you name it they get it the kids are stealing alcohol taking off all hours in the night getting drunk getting high they don't talk about all that but you know once again they're not watching our children and they take them from places for smoking marijuana at home come on get over themselves now look our kids are in danger they need to take kids that are really in danger and leave the kids at home that don't need to be taken

The Sheriff hasn't apologized for their negligence in all this. How does Largo police respond for 30 days and we just now have action? What is the vetting process for determining who gets the contract and responsibility to care for these kids?
FYI- The whole Florida Department of Corrections is corrupt, been for awhile. Every housed inmate in the states corrections system cost the state a certain amount of money annually. The state pays the FDC to house these inmates. It’s a 2.4 billion dollar operation annually. Everyone working for the FDC is eying for a piece of the pie. The corruption always starts at the top. The correction officers & individuals who work at the prisons only get the crumps. That will give you an insight at who gets the biggest piece of the pie. Just remember, it’s a big pie, some are given to the lobbyist & individuals who put these individuals in place to get the state money. No system is perfect, there will always be flaws, but putting corrupted minded individuals in those places makes it even harder & set for failures that could of been avoided. This case with the abused children could of been avoided completely. Just the facts that the Sheriff gave publicly, that business had no experience or the capability to operate successfully given the funds. A thoroughly investigation needs to be done to understand why this business failed & how & why they received the state funds.

This press conference obviously imho, is to bring it to the community attention so we can get more vetted volunteers to help house these kids in a safe environment.
