This is so exciting. 12 years ago I was on my way to Florida to buy my 5th sailboat. I loved it and was going to purchase it and take off around the globe. 1 week after my return to start getting ready I met my wife.. well, after 11 years of marriage and two children 6 and 7 she finally agreed. I just purchased a 100ft schooner and will be starting upgrades. My family and I will be enjoying the sailing together and I was just patiently waiting, hinting with UA-cam videos and innocent comments like, “wouldn’t it be nice to stay on vacation as long as we wanted?” She finally saw the picture, on her own. Can’t wait!!!!
You were patient! hope all goes well with the refit. Be sure to involve the kids, it takes a little extra time to let them "help", but they'll love the boat that much more if they take part in preparing it. Sounds like an amazing vessel, take footage of your work and post it!
I’m in the same situation. Lately I got bitten by the sailing bug ( never even set a foot in a sailboat before) but been looking to get one and possibly live in it. I started by watching UA-cam videos next to her and slowly she started asking questions and next week we have our first sailing to see how we will like it. My long term goal is to sail the Caribbean and eventually the Mediterranean.
