Yes it surprised me too , the behiour of the spider crab was a revelation too.its no wonder the fishing is crap inshore at the moment.

Love this. Did you land any Bream or Thornback? what sort of tide was it How deep, how far out.

Caught loads of bream, only 1 sizeable though, on pieces of cuttlefish. Medium size ebbing tide . About 5 miles offshore.
