Some of those pastures used to be orange groves back in the 60s, before the well field was built. We would take our lunch breaks under those oaks. Beautiful area. Outstanding that is has been set aside and allowed to go back to nature. Thanks for the hike-through!
I was just there yesterday on a 3.5 hour hike and on those same exact trails. You are right about that part of the trail that goes through the cypress swamps. Very scenic and peaceful walking through there. I was also hiking the trail that goes along the fencing and I am not sure if the other side is private property or part of the well field. I always lose my courage to go through the fencing to further explore. I also wonder how does one actually get to Cypress Creek lol because I can’t find it. I can look in the distance and see a dam in the well field, but I just don’t know.
Have you tried hiking from the other trailhead where pump station rd is? You can reach the creek in that area as well but it is a big place to explore around you just have to keep trying different places there. I was by the preserve boundary in part of this video but you if you keep going northward from where I was it goes along private property I just always stay in the public lands portions.

Great videos. Not enough people in Fl visit our state parks and wilderness areas. If people don’t visit them they won’t fight to preserve them.
I've never heard of this preserve, Joe, so this is my first time seeing this place. Thanks for bringing us along. 👍
RyanT 282 thanks for watching! It’s a great gem of a place to check out

How far is the area at the conclusion part of the video is from the main entrance of the preserve?
You should go camping at night there.
