I assume you'd have to, but did you require any additional type rating training to be qualified to fly the 767 or 757, whichever you've got the type rating for later?
Good question! The 757/ 767 is a dual type rating, meaning if you have one, you can fly both, at least in the eyes of the US FAA. I can't speak to other state's regulations. At my carrier, our pilots fly both, often in the same day. The cockpits are similar enough that it rely isn't an issue to go back and forth, even though the 757 weighs 250k# and the 767 weighs 408k#. Our crews do differences training during their initial qualification so that they're exposed to both airframes. There is a significant difference in the way each one flies, but it's a fairly simple adjustment.
@@Pooch747 interesting. I wondered if it would actually be a thing judging by how the cabin of the 757 looks very similar to the one in the 767, even though those are, physically, 2 very different aircraft. Glad you took the time to write a reply, thank you!
That climb out angle is insane, 757 my fave plane above all. I've flown on 707s, 727s, 737s, (not the MAX !) 747s, 767s, lots of props too. In '65 Lockheeds to Iceland and some Dash 8s too. Boeing used to be great now, hmm I think I'll opt for airbus.
Normally on just 2 people, and when one goes to the toilet then just on one. Yes, I think about it a lot, such a big responsibility. Although its the same on trains, boats or buses
My first flights as a kid were all on the BA 757's running the shuttle service between Edinburgh and London. Amazing planes with a proper punch in the back of acceleration and a steep climb angle. Great things. The only flights now which give a similar sensation are the Embraer flights out of City because they actually punch the throttles wide open and climb hard. Most planes are pretty nondescript these days with a lack of flair or character.
I love that the Windshield wipers start flapping their wings in sync when the plane is taking off. Good thing too or it might not have made it off the ground.
what the heck is wrong with Boeing for canceling this beautiful beast of an aircraft!? I'll always love the 757. I'll take a 30yr old 757 over a brand new 737 anytime.😍😍😍
I miss climbing in the back of a Rolls Royce RB211 on a cold wet day and warming my hands and gloves on the exhaust nozzle during a post flight inspection. 🙂🇦🇺
My first ever flight was in a 757 and i honestly couldnt believe the power and the angle we took off , it felt more like being in a rocket than a plane until we levelled out.
That’s it! I remember watching a C-5 leaving Horward AFB, Panama while the whole place watched in awe as the massive aircraft slowly took to the air. Great memory!
Wipers got a mind of their own
Was watching them the whole time 💀💀
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
They're on different switches lol
@@Ladiesman3173 *they are in different worlds*
gotta love the flying pencil lmao
True its such a long plane 😆
and skinny
@Prototype10 they are both the flying Pencil
😭😭😂😂
☠️ 💀
The RB211 what an unmistakable sound, even better when it was 3 and at its best when in a set of 4
Bingo! Absolutely!
arent all trents also just version of the rb211? They are certified as rb211
@@l.n963All of the Rolls Royce Trent Engines excluding the Trent 1000, 7000, and XWB are technically rb211 variants.
I currently fly the 757-200 and 767-300. The 757 is a great machine and more fun to fly!

Like flying a before and after weight loss candidate?
@@Pooch747they use the same cockpits like A319-20-21 do or not?

It’s so amazing that so many souls are relying on just three people to get us there safely. Thank you to all the pilots second officers and third!

Probably a lot more people. Just think of all the ground maintenance, the ATC, the engineers who built the thing. The list goes on
Moment of silence for the oversized wiper 💯
They're built different compared to car wipers 👌
My favourite aircraft of all time
The 757 is really a beautiful plane ✈️ the video is amazing ❤️
Love that RR growl.
B757 never disappoint. The most beautiful aircraft and the engine sound is amazing.

757 Boeing, the most beautiful aircraft I've ever seen, absolute rocket, a pleasure to watch ! Brilliant
When working on the ramp in JFK. I love seeing this airline and Korean air because of the different paint schemes.

Now thats a monster roar 757
That sound...only 757 pencil❤
Hermosura de Avión, único en su clase y sin competidores directos. Me encantas 757 🥰

This is the best take off I’ve seen from a 757
The airplane have a beautiful painting
Legend has it that the front of the plane reaches its destination 9.7 minutes before the tail
Awesome sound of engines and beautiful livery colors!
Very nice sounding engines on that 757!

Stunning
The sound of flying on a 757 when i was a kid i will never forget

That is damn beautiful!!!
Probably the best sounding 757 I’ve heard
probably the best Engine noise ive ever heared on this 757.
The ... BEAST ... !!!
I love the 757 especially those engines!
The Flying Pencil...what an awesome piece of machinery. There'll never be another and that's a damn crying shame.
I love that the Windshield wipers start flapping their wings in sync when the plane is taking off. Good thing too or it might not have made it off the ground.

I completely disagree, but yeah, 757 is nice.
Gotta love the Blue pencil of Iceland
Very comfortable travelling w/Icelandic 757's
Most beautiful aircraft and airliner❤
The BUZZ!!!!!!!
magnificent video! thanks!
I love the 757
The flying pencil is up there with the L1011 in terms of sexiness and sound. Gone are the days of these amazing Airliners.
That livery is brilliant! Well done guys fantastic capture!!!
Sin lugar a dudas los motores aeronáuticos Rolls Royce RB-211 ya son maravillas de la ingeniería, potentes y de buen rugir. Son majestuosos. 😃👍🏻
I love rainy takeoffs, especially coming up from the clouds, it’s like starting on earth, entering a white void, then coming out in heaven.
One of the best aircraft Boeing has ever built. new wing, and more seats.AND NEW ENGINS
'Great sound and superb videography - under challenging conditions!
A comprehensive description box as well!
'First rate!
Bon Voyage from Canada! 🇨🇦
Sounds like a motorcycle or sport car 🤩
I just love that sound I love it
Nothing sounds better then the RB211

It makes me giddy whenever I have the pleasure of flying on the Atari Ferrari on one of my normal routes.
amazing and beautiful
Best 757 sound i have ever heard
Honestly
Co pilot doing takeoff and captain running coms…. Excellent
Those RB 211’s 🤤🤤🤤
Such a beautiful plane ✈️ 🌜🌞😇🌛✨✨✨🙏🏻💜happy flying 💜
The sports car of the sky
What a beautiful sound the 757 makes
I don't know why I like the windshield wipers so badly🤣
My favorite plane to fly. Very fast, turned quick for short finals, climbed like a rocket and can do things many others cannot.
My favourite Boeing plane. Flown on one many times, thankfully!
iconic flying pencil ❤️
Love the 757, will sure miss her when she's completely retired 👌🏻
With a380 my favourite engine sound
Some decent rudder movement right before lift off
Beautiful! 🎉❤
The window wipers are my favourite
I flew the 757 for 7 years. Loved it.
The wipers said some I don't get paid enough😂😂😂
No other narrowbody plane can match the 757 performance with its supercritical wing and strong engines
My first ever flight was in a 757 and i honestly couldnt believe the power and the angle we took off , it felt more like being in a rocket than a plane until we levelled out.
The best looking twin jet IMO.
Luv the beautiful 757
Beautiful takeoff from runway 12 at SBMK. Icelandair used to do this seasonal route during the winter
This is just awesome
*inner peace has been restored*
Its my favorite aircraft hopefully I get the chance to fly it one day
See that rudder action right before rotation :)
The first officer was good.
