STR: Being able to crush the tomato
DEX: Being able to throw the tomato
CON: Being able to eat a bad tomato
INT: Knowing a tomato is a fruit
WIS: Knowing not to put tomato in a fruit salad
CHA: Being able to sell a tomato based fruit salad
One of my favorite things came from (what I think is the) original post:
"Isn't a tomato salad just salsa?"
"Found the Bard!"
NICE :D !!!
Maybe DEX: Being able to slice the tomato? :D Or, not slicing of fingers while making a salat?
Maybe have Dex as : Being able to dodge the tomato. Strength is typically used for throwing actions.
@@Ionweopon you might use a Str check to pick up a heavy object to throw but you use Dex to aim and actually get it to hit what you want.
Splat: "A Cleric isn't a cleric if he doesn't know his religion"
9:23 Doesn't take skill in religion.
Takes intelligence and wisdom
Sees Splat do custom char, sees 40m video lenght... ok so we need to wait for the next epispde for gameplay :D
lol I admit I end up taking for ever to make new chars tooo.
@@likeorasgod who real RPG player doesn't?
Classic Splat. Do I have any healing - highlights "heal living" - it seams that I don't :D
*seems
I was triggered
He apparently likes to play dumb. Like with the scale. It was written "received scale" when avatar got healed.
You may have also noticed the up arrow above his spells. Clerics have spontaneous casting, so you can click the arrow to cast a heal spell instead of whatever spell you have memorized.
He’s the most clumsy UA-cam gameplay creator I’ve seen. There’s isn’t a single video where he doesn’t overlook something obvious.
For anyone interested, 14:50 is when the actual gameplay begins.
"gameplay"
Finding out from your Murder Mountain Death Climb video yesterday, that you worked as a rock jockey, it makes even even more sense that you like dwarves. That and dwarves also do not wash their shins.
Dude, long time fan. So stoked you checked out this game! The first one Pathfinder Kingmaker is amazing too if you haven't played it. So pumped for this game 👍
Splat, with the alignment stuff, you can pretty much trade out good/evil for selfless/selfish. So a Lawful Good character uses the law to help the people around him (even at the expense of himself), while a Lawful Evil character uses the law to benefit himself even if that means harming or killing other people in the process.
So Robin Hood was a great example of Chaotic Good (breaking the law to help the peasants suffering under tyranny) while Chopper Reed (a hit man who would torture people for the fun of it) is a good example of Chaotic Evil.
"I took machete to face and went to Disneyland"
*added to my Splat bingo*
Man I played the shit out of kingmaker, super pumped for this
bad taste

@@inkeddecker9964 no i dont think so
I never can finish Kingmaker. It's such a neat game but I eventually hit a point where I'm like "Dear god, is this ever going to end? Oh look, another massive battle that is poorly balanced."
@@Riggswolfe is bad game
I put like 150+ hours into Kingmaker. I've been impatiently awaiting the release of Wrath. CANNNNNOT wait. Thanks for checking it out!
September is now the official release time just so you know. We are working on Beta 2 right now and don't know if they will do more beta's but a lot of the bugs and balance issues are getting addressed by those that are playing it early and giving feed back. We only have the first three chapters finsihed with Ch 4 in progress in our version, but there should be like 7-8 chapters
@@likeorasgod Hey i'm in no hurry. Except that I AM. :P I'd much rather see if get off to a smooth start and avoid what Kingmakers initial problems were. So take your time!
I'm down to help beta! :P
I have 400+ hours in it and i still haven't made it all the way to the end, stupid restartitis xD
As a cleric that channels positive energy, you can click on the little arrow above your spells that you get from the slots in your spellbook and instead cast the equivalent level healing spell, so you never have to specifically slot in healing spells and so give yourself more options.
Dragon appears: “Oh cool that dragon looks sooooo awes. . .”
Dragon dies 1 second later: 🤨
I was like well so much for the protector of the city.....though it's part of what will lead into the Gold Dragon mythic path later game.
Kingmaker was frigging awesome! Got this beta too, but can't wait for the full release! Gimme gimme gimme
The 1st game isn't even 40hr at the mid game.... It is 150+ hrs to complete.
And I agree. Tyranny is one of the best.
90 hours for me.
I hope that Machete didn't leave too bad of a scar on your face Splat...
I like the flex the developer made exactly in the beginning of the game by rotating the camera XDDD
Oh yes! Oh HELL YES! Oh Hell FUCKING yes! I'm planning the pen & paper campaign's first module for my WoW guild right now. Isn't Owlcat's music of choice just GLORIOUS? I LOVE that Adventure path to bits. I'm so glad they're making it into a full game like they did Kingmaker
Oh no, I have low DEX, I'm useless with a crossbow!
*proceeds to two weapon fight with torch in off hand for an even worse attack modifier*
My character has 18 Intellect. He's so smart he never goes to any festivals or travels on a ship. However, he's never been in any RPG game because of this.
Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit, Wisdom is knowing not to put a tomato in fruit salad, and Charisma is being able to sell a tomato-based fruit salad and call it salsa :D.
Terendelev actually gave you one of her scales when you thanked her for healing you.
Looks like currently everything is similar to Kingmaker, especially the main menu with the Kingmaker's DLC due to it being a test. But thee CC and the inventory looks improved, and hopefully we'll see many more down the line. I'm very excited to play this game.
There are some cases where negatives are fine.
For example, there is a backfground you can get that allows you to use Wisdom to make Persuasion checks (which normally use Charisma). That means that, unless you REALLY wanna use Magic Devices, you´re pretty safe to dump Charisma if you´re playing a class that doesnt use it for abilities, like Paladin or Sorceror.
To be the best example is the Oni-born Thiefling. It gets a +2 to Persuasion checks and a -2 to Charisma, which makes Persuasion essentially +0. But it also gets a +2 to Wisdom. So with that background, you can go with 5 charisma and still have naturally +4.
Mythic levels at high level is essentially Rocket Tag. I can only imagine this would be crazy to play.
The problem with 4e DND is Wizards of the Coast tried making it “tabletop World of Warcraft” where it felt like everyone suddenly had had a bunch of pseudo-magical abilities that were almost on a cooldown so it made for more frenetic movie/videogame like battles but hurt non-combat applications of almost everything.
The dragon's death was really anticlimactic..
Fairly young dragon vs a demon lord. It went about as expected tbh.
Yeah, everyone and their own mother pretty much told them that. I hope, before release, they give that Silver Dragon (adult) a more epic fighting death. It does not require any special animations or effects, just their in-game engine showing the dragon model (which they have) fighting a bunch of demons, while the player talks to the Hobbit soldier (who has a rather long dialogue considering the demons fighting about 10 feet away around them!).
Seems like a good way to demonstrate that the evil is more powerful than the good protectorate of the town. You're led to believe that the dragon is very powerful, so when they die it shows you how much of a threat the antagonist is.
@@kimiyamk I believe that was the aim, however - and hopefully this is constructive criticism - it was poorly executed.
There is not enough screen time for the dragon lady to feel any emotional connection to her. Perhaps healing the protagonist was supposed to aim for that, but it is simply not enough.
Secondly, she had no time to show off how powerful she is. While it may be an understandable comparison for DND nerds (I'm a nerd myself) how powerful the demon is, after killing a silver dragon just like that, there was no actual experience in the game leading to that conclusion.
When she died, my reaction was basically: "So, she was weak. And dumb for leaving herself vulnerable to attack like that."
This cartoonish feel of the scene is reinforced by the fact that demons appear so suddenly, with much stronger force than is necessary to slaughter almost everyone on the screen. And there's no one, including the dragon lady who puts up any resistance.
Or... She's not dead! They'll resurrect her from the scale or something like that haha.
spent thousands of hours in kingmaker.... man i can't wait for this one
Is it worth playing now? I remember it being in a bad state at launch. The reviews are not very flattering from back then.
Game is fine to play today. Have hundreds of hours in it myself. Never actually beat it though lol
the only bad part about kingmaker was the whole ruling a fort or whatever... it meant that even if you never lost a fight you could lose the game because your fortress fell... but you could turn off the keep failure condition so that if you didn't feel like managing a keep and didn't want that to be a failure condition you could turn that off... but that was literally the only bad thing about the game IMO... i mean dont get me wrong the idea of managing a keep sounds cool... in theory... but if you dont properly maintain it and everything its a lose condition which i dont like...
@@JohnB-ws4ge indeed it's worth a buy. I missed the launch so I didnt experience the bad launch. From my understanding it was really bad. I highly recommend it
@@JohnB-ws4ge i have some weird performance issues on occasion, but it's absolutely worth playing. There are some really great mods for it too if that's your cup of tea
Today I found out that you can take less than three hours to create your characters. Wow.
He didn't even look at every single subdivision of every class
I appreciate him giving a longer cut to the video It's a good change for sure
Put 120 hours into kingmaker (about 1/3 of that was getting wrecked on my early runs), can't wait for this to come out.
If you can't wait, what will you do in the meantime, while you are...waiting? Man, I hate it when people say they can't wait. It is stupid, even as a figure of speech.
@@danielduncan6806 what a fucking weird thing to write
Well hope ya do more! Could enjoy a series of this!
4th Edition D&D was intended to be launched with an online component, much like 5th edition now has D&D Beyond but the technology wasn't quite where they wanted it at the time. The online component failed due to this, so the game felt only half finished. The main reasoning behind the game being like it was is because WotC wanted to make the game more modular.
They wanted you to be able to play the game with multiple DMs and still keep your character. This is why all of the features and items worked like they would in a video game. So that if you wanted, you could take your PC from one game to another without an imbalance. The idea of this ultimately failed with players, which caused the split from the Dungeons and Dragons brand to Pathfinder. Although WotC would later learn their lesson when creating 5th edition by taking this idea and formatting it into what we now know as the Adventurer's League.
Your dwarf’s clothes make him look like an earth bender
Wasnt expecting to see a dragon get folded so quickly, but it do be like that.
Someone tell Splat that Core in Pathfinder is like NIGHTMARE OUT OF HELL difficulty in a normal game. 8) The game is awesome!
The actual gameplay starts at 34:57
You can thank me later
Having the portrait of the character that is speaking on the right side instead of the left side feels wrong to me and it's hard to get used to. Otherwise i think this is a great game.
We always referred to Pathfinder as D&D 3.75.
And Seelah is one of the named pregenerated characters they use in all the artworks for Pathfinder. an "Iconic". Amiri too from the first game.
Pathfinder has done a great job. They will fix those issues.
Holrun: "Bearing arms is not permitted during the festival. Wounded or not, everyone must abide by the rules."
Oh, look, a weapon-free zone! How long before they all get slaughtered?
A video longer then 30 minutes? YES!, haven't seen it yet but pumped as hell now :D
The original Pathfinder game is amazing and worth a playthrough. It's very difficult / requires smart plays and a bit of luck at the beginning of the game, but once you get to about level 4, where the classes really start to flesh themselves out, it becomes really interesting. The sense of power you gain is something I do not often find in games very often, and a great thing about it is that even while you gain a lot of power, it never feels like you're overpowered.
The biggest hurdle for me, being a non-DnD player is that you NEED to know how to make proper characters without gimping yourself, so I had to look up and follow some guides.
Overall, it's an excellent game IMO and I can't wait for WoTR
I find it hilarious that you ended up playing the exact same race, portrait, class, and archetype as you did in Kingmaker.
Im glad the worked on the character model in the inventory screen a bit as it looks so dated in the previous pathfinder. Its not a huge leap though. Especially when you see how good they look in BG3. But its something.
The “core” difficulty might be like in neverwinter nights (I think) or Dragon Age where it’s more “true” to the rules in relation to AoEs and things.
I love Dwarves too. And Cleric is also my favorite class as well.
The only reason I didn't finish the previous Pathfinder (even though I like it) was because it was full of bugs and it was slow (I assume because of spaghetti codes). I'll try this when they finish and hope they do it right this time.
Don't know about the 'slow' part, but I played it on release and it was a complete mess that I gave up on quickly, but I played it all the way through just a few months ago, and can't remember hitting any bugs at all that time. If your buggy attempt was a while ago, might be worth trying again
@@jamesnewman7509 I might try again in the future.
This looks much better than Kingmaker. I like how they baked in hybrids. Hopefully hitting isnt impossible for off meta builds.
Im currently playing the previous pathfinder, having a blast! Although this is my first DnD like game, so I've no idea what I'm doing! I'm playing a sorcerer and I put everything into CHA and I have no idea what that does for me in battle lol.
Kingmaker right? It's a good game.
You're just going to struggle in the initial sections coz you're so squishy, but high Cha is good for a protagonist since you get good speech skill base. They'll assign you a cleric or fighter depending on your alignment in the intro and they'll probably be your tank, and you can keep the barbarian to pad out your front line, though she also tends to go down very often.
DnD sorcerers get their hit rolls from charisma instead of intelligence. Don't know if it's the same in the games, but i assume that they are.
Dex and Con should have been the next best stats for you besides Cha, which is good to pump up since it's your casting stat. But even if your stat spread isn't super good, you can adjust the difficulty on the fly if you struggle so it's not a biggie.
@@theshadynorwegian6036 Does hit roll mean my chance to hit? Because I'm missing all the time with "ranged touch attacks" and I think maybe I need to increase my DEX?
Thank you for the answers! My second highest stat is CON but it feels somewhat wasted because I just chill in the back. I figured I'd need it to fight with my dragon claws in melee but.. I noticed the dragon claws are kinda bad because I have like 7 strength lol. So I think I'll leave my CHA at like 18 or so and then go into DEX to hit stuff.
"Why do they always have to do this on maple festival day" cracked me up dude hahaha
Ah man, they cut out Khorramzadeh? He was the one that was supposed to kill Terendelev and split the city open. Deskari didn't even make an appearance at the attack on the city.
I have no idea who he is... but he sounded cool...
@@AB-ln2py He's an extremely powerful Balor Lord and servant of Deskari and fairly important to the original Wrath of the Righteous storyline.
@@TheMalignantMind Maybe they wanted to show off new big models ?
@@AB-ln2py Maybe, but Khorramzadeh was pretty big as well, and was a unique lightning infused Balor. That's actually him in the thumbnail of the video. Which hopefully means he's still in the game, but is just being used somewhere else. My guess is they just wanted to show off the big bad (Deskari) right away.
I don't like how Owlcat tweaks the storylines for the APs they use. Their storylines and characters are often a downgrade imo.
*Kingmaker Spoiler*
For instance, how they changed the ending of Kingmaker by splitting up the party at the House at the Edge of Time. Having longtime companions, who you were on good terms with, just straight up disappear if you didn't complete all their (buggy) quests ended the game on a real sour note for me. It's like I got penalized for using their NPCs instead of rolling my own!
I really appreciate when you say things like "Tyranny which to this day I think is probably one of the best RPGs ever made"... this really makes me curious about the game.
I was thinking... I'd really like if you make your opinion with like "the top X games" you found really cool or promising that you tested in a few weeks/months.
Hey, there is voice acting! Hardest part about Kingfisher was the reading and trying to immerse with the voices.
I am here to defend 4th edition Dungeons & Dragons, still my favorite version. However Pathfinder first position is awesome. I cannot wait to play Wrath of the righteous.
I am not a miniature war gamer, but there was nothing wrong with the game. They expanded on the tabletop aspect of the game and people CHOSE to leave out the roleplaying. Roleplaying is a choice in a game like that, the issue is, is that most people are murder hobo's in disguise.
Yep its such a common complaint about 4e yet it had all the same tools as previous editions did and added a few more codified rules for groups and DM to use.
5e ironically took many of them away and yet is hailed as RP friendly.
@@donjean6590 4e was designed around living campaigns with the official WotC realms in mind. It was done that way to cut down on combat times. Anyone who complains that their rp ability was influenced by it, wasn't rping in the first place. They were simply wanting the dice to reinforce what they wanted to do.
Came for the new games, stayed for the Arnie impressions
This is looking mighty fine already, and it has nothing to do with the fact you chose a dwarf, ok maybe a little bit.
I hope you stream some more of this Splatt, I'd like to see more of it. I'm curious if they have Mythic tiers like they had in the actual adventure path. The mythic rules were freaking awesome, especially if you got the Legendary Games expansions on the ruleset, and were PF's answer to 3(.X's) Epic levels.
I believe epic levels were a major part of the game's marketing. I'm kinda surprised they start you off at 1st level tho - Kingmaker was real fucking long, and even then most parties didn't reach 20th level by the end of it. But mythic levels seem to be a big element of the game, so I guess this one's either much longer, or a lot more generous with XP.
@@Pixie1001. Epic levels in 3.X were lvls 21-30. In Pathfinder, Mythic levels stacked on top of whatever level you were and only had 10 ranks. Rank 1 was like being a Hero of literal legend while rank 10 was sometimes God-like. So if *that's* in this game, it could be crazy awesome. Iirc you got rank 1 after driving the demons out of the city, so we'd have to see Splatt play for quite awhile for him to get to that point (assuming its even in the version he has).
@@DoomedPaladin Oh ok, so was it's possible to be like, Mythic Rank 3, but only a level 5 wizard? Kinda like a second class that ranks up by progressing the story :o
That does sound a lot cooler than just tacking on another 10 levels to the endgame, and having the rest of the game play out super similarly to the first.
@@Pixie1001. yup, that's how it worked. Ranks weren't xp-based either. You had to perform an act worthy of ranking up, though that probably won't be a problem here, it was not unlike milestone leveling in 5e.
To backseat game a bit: I think you should have aimed for 13 CHA because you need it for the feat in PF that allows you to not hit enemies with your heal AOE (unless Crusader gets it auto or something I don't know about)
Lookin fun, a number of (potentially) really good CRPG's coming out soon, bounteous treasures!
10:30 Yeah, you missed what Atheism is in this game, by a mile! :D
But yeah, a bad start for a Cleric! :D
20:07 Same, I mean I've read of this melodious laugh but try finding an example!
21:26 As a Dwarf, aren't you pretty much honoured-bound to aid both her and Kenabres (as it's under her protection) should either ever need your help?
24:34 Well ... Kenabres aid.
The last pathfinder was a lot of fun, and had so many gameplay hours. Just like the olden days... but it had game breaking bugs, didn't go back to it since they finished patching it
i played it a month ago or so, it's still broken in every possible way
@@Alexander_Sannikov Really, I played the new edition and had no issues
I played it a couple months ago, had no problems at all. Kingdom management is a bit tedious but rest of the game was good... assuming you didn't make a terribly gimped character which I imagine would make it frustrating as all hell.
When this game is released I'm willing to bet that Splatty goes with the Devilbrain Priest. ;) I didn't finish the first one, but I did enjoy it (bugs and all).
I love the Futurama reference!!! Made my day!!
So... a silver dragon walks around the town while polymorphed and everybody knows she's a dragon? That sounds EXACTLY like silver dragons work!
25:32 *Consecuences* - now that a hug plot twist
Betrayal at Krondor ... Spore... Skyrim... and Baldurs Gate... all great games... =D
Damn Splat you should probably have Ofnar see a doctor about those arms.
I agree with your 4th Edition it felt like a video game
Asmodeus is LE, Lord of the Nine Layers of Hell.
The dwarf looks like Cartmans dwarf from the WoW episode
Yep now I want a series or a stream on it
Thank you for the video Splat. If you play again that ability on your bar called Channel Positive Energy heals your party members. Look forward to the next one.
Not with a charisma of 10 it isn't. He nerfed himself straight off the bat.
That much ranged poison attacks for DEX damage that early in the game will absolutely destroy a lot of early character builds (Especially low CON, DEX dependant builds). It is the spider swarm issue from Kingmaker all over again sadly.
By the way, the story choices are... actually Kingmaker stuff :P LOL. Not sure what it is still doing there. They used the Kingmaker engine/game to build WotR.

Yea. It was a chunky game
I finally finished the first game yesterday. I had a lot of fun and it was a blast. But i really hope the balance the difficulty more in this game. And also kingdom management. The end game was verry hard. I played on nomal dificulty. But normal difficulty was hard difficulty was hard difficulty. Verry frustrating sometimes. And kingdom management was almost unmanageable at a certain point. SO i hope this game would be a bit more balanced
the first was nice cept that kingdom stuff.
It was okay, with a mod that sets all the needed time for an event/upgrade etc to one day :P
I know this is a game review, but I'm using this to show to my new players from now on.
40h ? :)) took me like 100+ to finish everything in kingmaker, tho it was my 1st full clear and i played mostly turn based and unfair difficulity . It`s much faster if you play real time i guess .
The dragon gave you the scale after heals. Pay attention
This looks like a cool game. I would like to see more.
You didn't take the scale. Terendelev gave it to you when she healed you.
24:50 One minute we had a dragon. The next, her head is rolling down from her neck.
You mean second right?
Pathfindet:Kingmaker is one of my favourite games ever especially im cRPG genre definitely top 3, yeah it's not ideal and has own flaws, but this is the only game alongside with Divinity:OS 2 which has true soul in 100% of Baldur's Gate 2 .
Sadly this game had very bad start, many bugs. But I bought Kingmaker after it was fixed so I had a blast with it. WotR looks like better, improved version of Kingmaker so I think it can beat first game for sure.
Also I am one of the backers of Pathfinder:WotR on Kickstarter and I am proud of it
D&D 4e had some great innovations that I'm sad 5e scrapped.
-Minion enemies (they die with one hit regardless of level)
-The "bloodied" condition
-Making Fortitude, Reflex, and Will defenses like AC, instead of saving throws.
-Balancing classes! (eg: so a Fighter at any level compared to a Wizard at the same level were basically equal in abilities, damage output, etc.)
-Fixed the CR system completely by getting rid of it. Monsters had levels just like PC's. One level 1 monster = one level 1 PC. Simple.
-Got rid of the stupid legacy spell system where you get access to level 3 spells at level 5, etc.
-Did NOT "get rid of role playing." Role playing is something you either do or don't do at your table. It has nothing to do with a ruleset.
I love this game!
Think this needs more polish though...
I am with you on tyranny! Its really fucking good! So weird it didnt make it to a sequel. 😢😢
The story and gameplay was ground breaking...
Looks interesting, hopefully they did a better job at balancing then they did with Kingmaker, going to wait a while and see if it's actually worth playing.
A tomato based fruit salad is salsa - The Bard
I want to see a lets play of this by Splat
cant wait for the release of this game. also i hope they never do the timed quest. that freaking stressed me out. def getting this on gog though
Waiting for this. I'm wondering though, can we import our characters from Kingmaker?
No. It's not a sequel, just a game set in the same setting.
Splatter is gonna have a bad time if he keeps dual wielding with that torch lol
It shouldn't effect his rolls, honestly. Pathfinder core didn't, and it didn't in kingmaker.
@@IAmAnEvilTaco it actually did in Kingmaker. You lost attack rolls without the dual wielding feat.
