Improvements only in video, and a little bit at night, but then again with night mode on there is no difference. Zoom photos looks better and sharper on s22 u, also main cam got better colours ,nice contrast and better controling the sun on all the cameras . Might actually cancel the preorder
Samsung focuses more in highlights and skin tones this year. Inorder to maintain better highlights, it has to put more exposure due to which S22 ultra looks more contrasty but in the same time more noisy and unbalanced with skin tones and highlights as well. For me it's a clear win for S23 ultra hands down. And ofcorse some updates has yet to come.
I do like the S23 Ultra, but you can see how well optimised the S22 Ultra is. The 10x zoom in the S22 Ultra was better during the day and SD always seems to overexpose vs the Exynos during bright scenes. The highlights for me really are how much better detail the 200MP can retain in most scenes vs 108MP in the S22 Ultra. The 8K video is much improved too but what takes the cake is the vastly improved stabilisation.
Same thing was with s22 ultra snapdragon version, where side by side exynos was much more better exposed. I really like photos from s22 ultra better, dont really care about video, so thinking to cancel my preorder

Samsung is bullshit like iphone! I play with all of three and i have to say only s23 ultra is flagship! The other two is just midrange phones! S23 ultra has more vivid colors and more pixel density, side by side i could see the pixels in s23 plus... and its a "premium" phone of 1250€ in here in Greece!!!
I got the S23 ultra and noticed that the pictures of people in 10 x zoom are very grainy and not as clear as the 10 x zoom pictures I was taking on my S22 ultra. Do you think this is something that Samsung can fix through software updates? For me, the difference is quite noticeable
Great comparison! I updated myself from s22u exynos to s23u and am really happy with the improvements in performance and camera. Video quality is definetly better in all scenarios, pictures also look great, although seems the s23u likes sometimes to oversaturate and making punchy colours, i like it more natural. Also sometimes pictures come out too grainy or foggy. But lets not forget s23u still is on the release software
Edge detection, stabilization, and noise reduction on the S23U are so much better than the S22U. Still curious about whether the 40MP selfie on the S22U is better than the S23U 12MP selfie.
How stable s23 and night shot is great but others not a huge difference. I thought there will be more difference between the 2. Color I like s22 Ultra. Maybe I should keep s22 ultra
Very informative, corect me if I am wrong. I am hoping to see a 200 Megapixel photo from S23 ultra, but a view of someone "pinching and zooming in the photo" further until we can see the difference of quality. Example: 12:52 I see the closest example, but seems like it is only cropped in to be equal as S22 Ultra. I was hoping maybe a use-case or example of pinch and zoom all the way into the tree branches or goal post? just curious how much 200MP has retained as we zoom in compared to the older phone S22 Ultra. nevertheless, thanks! i guess i am the only odd-one who wants to zoom in very close 😂
Great comparison! i would like to see a camera comparison between S23 Ultra and S23 Plus too. I haven't seen any youtuber testing the S23 Plus camera and i wanna see the differences especially on low light conditions, would be awesome to see that
Amazing review, thank you so much ! I was shocked that the difference isn't that big as I expected much much much more, so it looks like no need to upgrade You need to make a comparison with S22 Ultra Exynos after 8 months or something when the S23 Ultra gets the software updates too hopefully !
This is an excellent feature by feature comparison that highlights important differences. I really appreciate your work and thank you for putting this together.
Great video. The S23 Ultra seems very washed out and over exposed in this comparison. I prefer the more contrasty look of the S22U. That said stabilisation is not even close between the two, a major win for the S23U. I hope samsung can tweak the software to get the colour/white balance closer to the S22.
The zoom videos on the s22 ultra are over sharpened. Has that artifical look to them where as the 23 ultra is softer, more natural/less artifical looking. But the dynamic range Of the 22 ultra seems better(sky wasn't blown out behind you). Zoom colors are better on 22 ultra.(looks like there is a haze on the 23 ultra zooms) The standard 4k videos look better on the 23 ultra
Excellent comparison... Just a correction... in 4k60 you can switch between the front and the rear yes... you just can't switch between the rears, unfortunately.
35%+ faster cpu and gpu and twice as fast ram, and all run faster using less power, giving 20% more battery life in tests. Better cooling means your phone will last longer, and not throttle down when you are pushing it hard. Better speakers, additional microphone, as well as new really cool photo editing options. The s22 series is great... the s23 series improves upon it across the board, well worth the upgrade to me.
@@GaryTabarJr It's an improvement in some areas but not all. It's also a slight improvement and not a major improvement. The S24 Ultra will have bigger updates to the hardware.
I'm surprised with the results I saw in this video. Although its stabilization is very good, the S23 Ultra often seems to have too much white in its image, and sometimes, the orange seemed oversaturated to me. Strangely, I haven't seen this haze in some other video comparisons. Does someone else find that? (I know this can be corrected with a software update, but I just find it strange).
@@ChillFantasticFive Interesting. At least, if the video stabilization is better, you can always try to fix the brightness and contrast. The opposite (correcting an unstable video) would be much harder. But I wonder why it is more appearant here. Maybe other UA-camrs have tried to correct it? Don't know...
As a S22 Ultra user (snapdragon) I see the differences only on software. Of Sansung wants, can make bothe S22 U and S23 U identical in photo quality aspect. I don't care about video recording.
I know cameras are important, but nobody seems to think comparing phones outside of cameras is important. Battery life, browsing, navigation through the UI etc. I do not know very many reviewers who go through things like that.
You gotta be patient here with us when we are making these videos, they take time to test and review each section properly. Other tests are in the works as we speak. You're welcome
@@LoverOfTech I know that. I'm talking about in general. All I ever see from all reviewers is camera comparisons. It was not about you specifically. It was a general statement. Patience has nothing to do with it, because it's the same phone after phone. Just camera comparisons. It would just be nice to actually see the UI. For example, I have never seen a reviewer actually show what the UI entails on OnePlus phones. For somebody who does not use their phones, it would be really nice to see.
Yep you right, stabilisation is better, everything other than that looks better on s22 ultra. Better exposure control, dynamic range, more clear and sharper zoom , also selfie looks better too
I really appreciate you doing such a thorough review. I personally was extremely let down by the camera on the s22 Ultra to the point I'm ready to switch to iphone and it pains me to say that. But my girls iphone is superior in every manner to an extreme detail to me in both low light and daylight in every situation. I just don't understand how Samsung can be so far behind in my opinion.
