For HR, the little buttons are cooldowns, which they put like that so if you're not in a time where you want to be popping CDs for whatever reason, you still have the base rotation. They're both pretty much telling you the same information, just in different ways.
Miss your swtor videos :) ty for this
Ive used hekili, its always updated, sometimes 3-5 times a day during class reset days.
Its important to note this addon get you 90-95% of the way there. You still need to know when to use a skill to maximise your dps (ie. Holding CDs for a burst window).
Thank you for making this video. IT was what I was looking for to help me find a rotation add-on!!! Alos, can I get a list of you other add-ons, some look awesome?
Thanks very much!! Addons:
Plater for the name plates
Hekilli
Custom UI just made through the edit mode option
Details - Damage Meter
Tamas Dragonflight helper (top left for the dragonflight quests)
Nice video bro, how can you setup camera look very far from top down like that at 1:15 ? or using any addons for that ?
You have to use the "little Buttons" Hekili just puts them properly in the rotation while hero puts them up top. You can change it though. I still prefer hekili. since you can show more than 1 skill in the chain.
I use ConRo and have for quite a while. I tried Hero and it worked well enough but I liked ConRo better for out-of-the-box functionality. Haven't tried Hekili so I will look into that one. May I suggest you add links to the addons you are comparing in the description? I had to use someone else's rotation addon comparison to know where to find the addon and how to spell the name of it.
thanks very much, that is definitely an oversite on my part I have add the links.
@@firmbutfairgaming8636 I also personally use ConRo (Conflict Rotation Optimizer) You do need to download different class modules individually. But it goes a step further and will actually highlight the buttons on your bars with a skull box sort of thing. I would highly suggest giving it a go if you are willing to make another video and give your opinion versus comparison. I have used hero rotation previously and didn't much care for it. But I have not toyed with hekilli.
Does ConRo get updated?
Same. Never heard of the Hero one but I tried Hekili and didn't like it as much in PvP as ConRO. ConRO is by FAR my favorite rotation addon.
@@jhonwayne1003 Yes it's updated on patches.
I've been using hekili for years it was a total game changer for me and I wouldn't want to ever play without it now!
I just started would putting it almost center be better ?
@@metamorphichoeYES
@@ihanak8814 tried for rogue think maybe for subtlety this type of add-on won't be too helpful worked well for monk super good I think did 19-22 +2 on that last one
ConRo seems to be better imo with the 2 damage buttons 1 for defensives (good for tanks for ironfur etc), and it gives you a tiny Interrupt and dispel button.
the little buttons on heroDBC are your interupts and stuns
does hekili work with healing? i want to start a healer but cant figure out setting to make healing skills pop up
No it is just for damage. You can get weak auras to let you know which heals are off cd. I like vuhdo for healing and have done a few videos on it
what addon should i use for 4.3.4 cataclysm? please help i cant find a single cata rotation addon
Are you talking retail and not classic? And if retail then you are still levelling and won't have many dos options so keep leveling and using what DPs buttons you have
ConROX for Cataclysm or ConROC for Classic
Hekili can be modified to have up to 5 buttons and it has sim profile that one can use for the gear you currently have so it adjusts accordingly.
Love it to learn rotations/priorities.
been trying to figurte out the sim thing
@@andytamburino1743any luck?
same here@@andytamburino1743
I use it have for a month or two and yeah its great but now that I'm pushing higher keys i find myself just barely getting time to glance there which has inadvertently made me learn from hekili not gonna lie this addon helped alot but i do believe it should not be allowed in anything tournament related
I am 44 and a Dad , working shift .I can't doit anymore , keybonds , rotation, and multiple this with 5 chars . I've tried this recently and it's a blessing BUT RIP Situational awareness.
what addon does he have that makes his abilities look like that where it removed the gryphon's
If you go to your action bar and the one with the Gryphons there is a check mark to remove bar art
@@firmbutfairgaming8636 is that all you did or do you also have a add on cause I really want mine to look like that
@@ScorpioBuu I adjust the bars to that shape. It is a total of 5 action bars.. I also have recently made the bar scale smaller to .8.
@@firmbutfairgaming8636 thank you man
I just tried it and it's good for very nooby players. I thought you could press the buttons that it shows you but they're just there to show you what to press next, so you still have to press the same button you always pressed. It's totally useless to me as a seasoned player. I was looking more for something that would at least let you click on it when it shows you what to press next. Again, I've played this game from the very beginning, so I was just looking for something to take away the monotonous nature of pressing so many buttons.
Exactly we just wanna click on icon if hekili had this option would be the best addon ever.
I also thought that was doing this
No ConRO?
tbh, i turned this video off when i heard someone log on in your game, i checked mine...was about 20 seconds in.
As a multi HoF raider let me give you some advice.
I don't believe that these are healthy to use for two reasons. Firstly, tunnel visioning on the addon will decrease your situational awareness, even if it is the 'perfect' rotation. Secondly, it isn't the perfect rotation, things are more dynamic in the real world. You won't be able to master your class following this.
As a user of the Hekili addon I can tell you I'm guilty of this. I have to just accept when I'm alerted to move I sacrifice my damage and just book it. I don't care about being the best or anything I just play without much thought into my rotation and cds. Game is bloated so this is nice for players like me.
Well yes and no, i know a player dps that is in a HoF guild and he uses hekili, and does Top Parses, the thing is you still look at your weakauras for timers and stuff so basically you still have to look away for a brief moment.
It's all about game awareness, yes maybe at your level it's better to play without hekili, but you can still do you CE and even push some keys while having this addon.
I think it's useful for people who have multiple rerolls and love to have fun without needing to spend hours on the training dummy to get the rotation into their muscle memory.
And to be honest, rotations in that game are not that complex, even if a player uses hekili, after 300 hundreds hours of playing the rotation will be acquired.
In the end it's all about as i said game awareness and how to use your cd's.
i believe rotation addons are wonderful for keeping me 'on track', and also agree that they should not be the only source of my understanding of my class and encounter. they're wonderful to help me learn what i should be looking for, and even better for simplifying the decision making process as i shift between mechanical execution or using CCs and getting back to my rotation. it should never play the game for you, but it does give a pretty good idea of where you're at relative to your current buffs/cooldowns.
i think hero rotation is fantastic for tanking. the big button shows my basic builder/spender rotation, the small buttons show optional off global spells or DR recommendations. i use it in conjunction with a pretty hefty bespoke weakaura package that shows cooldowns as bars instead of numbers, given my dyslexia. all of that is then positioned above my bigwigs and beside my player model to give me the whole picture all in one small area. it should never play game for you though, i entirely agree, but im pretty good with accessibility options and i think it's a fantastic for people that get overwhelmed with information not presented in specific ways!
dont shame someone that needs this, just make sure they understand what they should be getting from it!
I feel like it is always people who have never used hekili, or tried and gave up immediately, that make these types of comments:
1. If someone is struggling with tunnel vision on hekili, they are going to struggle even worse with a simple weakaura profile (it just takes practice, you can also adjust the hekili icons to help with tunnel vision quite well). Hekili / rotational WA's are inherently achieving the same thing (just in different ways). They both do one thing: help someone identify what abilities to use.
2. Hekili is providing you the most optimal rotation (99% of the time). The mechanics of fights is not really changing that...but this is where the player comes in and needs to use critical thinking / knowledge of the encounter. Hekili also provides optimal tools to assist in this: Binds to hold major CDs, minor CDs, pots, trinkets, and everything else. Usually, you just have trinkets either off hekili completely (macro'd with an ability or maybe tracked on a weakaura) or only pop up when CD's are on. Similar situation with pots.
Point is, hekili provides the tools that you can use to optimize your gameplay around situational awareness (and it does it VERY well).
I am shocked this is even allowed. Seems like cheating.
The difference between someone using this and someone playing at the top level is significant. An average player using this can get some decent results. Fuck with how some people play in the game I wish they'd use this instead of bricking keys.
@@araragi5322 you say that... But I used Hekili on my Ret paladin for Heroic Aberrus and I'm sitting at a 99, 98, 99, 95, 99, 98 and 97 parses on the first 7 bosses... Just saying
@@12Beastn Sorry to sound like an elitist prick but heroic parses literally does not matter a damn, no joke. And when I say average results, yes I am even talking about HC parses which also have a ton of variables i.e when did you obtain the parses? P.I? External buffs? None of which Hekili teaches you about.
Did you know on assault, parse can be cheesed by simply damaging only the boss? I.e something hekili does not tell you.
I'm going way off point now but my point is actually FOR hekili. I'd rather people use it than just be plain bad. I said this in another comment but it practically achieves the exact same as googling your rotation does.
You will not be a super exceptional player with it for sure but it does its job very well. If you're already a WoW player that has played the game and decided to suddenly use Hekili and suddenly you're better then that might explain something with individual skill. People do not need to use Hekili and still get those parses, know what I mean?
Again going back to my first reply the difference of skill with this and someone at the TOP level, I'm talking mythic raiders, not first 2/3 bosses, not midcore but first month CE achievers, is astronomical.
@@araragi5322true.. i once used hekili in legion to learn my ret paladin after 1month i deinstalled it because i did more dps without it. It's nice to learn if you're too lazy to use google but nothing more.. i see people in my guild using rotation addons and still do trash dps for their gear..
ret paladin also clicks like 2 keys
@@12Beastn
What are you playing for then? better put a bot to play by itself and watch a movie.
This does not pose an advantage for anyone with half a brain. Hekili has existed for a long time. You will get decent results from this as it follows sim but nothing significant. I'd rather the average player actually use this because some people actually do zero fucking dps in keys for their ilvl.
I would rather Blizzard add this as a feature to the game that you can toggle off than let 90% of the DPS in my keys figure out their own rotations.
@@araragi5322 well, no one talked about having any kind of advantage, anyone with half a brain can read that. you want a system that tells you what to do all the time, and not to spend a little time learning something you enjoy and want to improve? it's just learning to press the keys in the right order. again, what are you playing for? better put a bot to play for you and watch it do everything
@@pandarokaz9852 Did you think I made an ad hominem in my reply or what? Of course no one talked about it having an advantage, I explained my point with that as a starter nothing personal. This does whatever someone googling/learning their rotation does faster. You won't get better with hawking your eyes on this and not dodging mechanics. This doesn't teach you how to squeeze your dps either,if you blindly follow it you'll still never even be close to someone who has actually, naturally learnt their rotation. You really watched a UA-cam video of someone on dummies and thought what you originally thought? Please.
Like I said, this does, extrinsically teach you how to do your rotation whether you do it subconsciously or not. I AGAIN would rather people play with this addon instead of going in blind and completely fucking with 4 to 20 other people's run.
The same reason people use cheats man. They want the glory with 0 effort put in. I will say as a brand-new WoW player (2nd week). I could see how this would be appealing to new players getting spam kicked or harassed in chat because they are trying to do content for the first time while you got people with 5k plus hour in game going crazy over one mistake.
The best one is to just get freaking good. Can't wait for Blizzard to kill this crap.
You want more ppl to quit WoW then? You're better than the marketing team at Bud Light.
Would love Blizz to "KILL THIS CRAP" They never will as they would lose half there players lol :P
Dude if u gonna learn how to ride a bike u always need extra wheels for that, there isn't one person in this world who jumped on his bike and drive off without falling.. so that's why as a kid u gonna learn that with extra help to get control over the device. Also if u gonna learn how to drive a car u also need that help. Now take the example that u'r toon is a car and u never drive before u ll crash alot of times.. with that addon u help people to get more control over there char rotation.. Its a shame Blizz not made this them self, and other people need to make this. It would make playing with pugs more fun.
Like others said already no reason to play with this, if you don't want to play the game then why would you start it? Not to mention i saw on streams these rotation helper addons and usually they are not even showing the correct rotation. Your reaction time if you are using these addons is non existent since you are constantly watching what should you press instead of what you and your environment doing so you'll never learn how to play nor your class nor a dungeon for example. So i would like to give an answer to the title: Which one is the best to use?? Neither, watch guides, practice on dummys and see yourself improving thats why you play the game if you just want to smash buttons mindlessly you don't have to pay 13EUR a month :D
let ppl play the way they want to, its their 13$ not yours 🤭🤭🤭
You couldn’t be more wrong 😂😂
