I've always liked the military styling of this unit. I have the chance to get one of these in excellent shape but needs the AM filter for 11 meters. Depending on how expensive the mod is will be the reason I do or don't get it.
Am filters on ebay. Thats the only place i know where to get one. It goes in the cw spot and a simple modification is made. Its not really a good choice for 11m in my opinion. The tubes are not forgiving on Am with too much carrier. Cb 11m buy a cobra 29 and a ch6 amplifier and you're ready to go lol
@PhoenixRising251 i hear a guy name Dave made one lol or was it BBI? Can't believe they havent raided that guys house. They must know what hes up to. Guy with ham radio tech license and amplifiers capable of god knows what with no tuned input for other bands....hmmm

@@hamradiohack Heck I wish the FCC would raid Mark Sherman AKA Mudduck in the Desert!!! That guy is ruining channels 19, 28 and 38 LSB. 🤦

Is this a good radio for a new ham radio operator or should I go for the Yaesu ft 901dm?
Neither are good for a new ham.
