Nice video, although I disagree with your statement that the guidi’s would look weird with a something traditional (Jeans) because I personally think they would look better to accent an outfit with the avant-garde style rather than wearing them with similar clothes.
Thank you for your comment! I agree that I should have mentioned that this is my personal preference and not all absolute statement! It's true that you can find a lot of street styles with people wearing jeans with Guidi (ex: Brad Pitt).

Excellent boots! I went for Layer 0 instead, I just can’t do zippers on boots. I pair my horse hide Layer-0 bootswith jeans, I like the look and so does my wife. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Really nice video detailing Guido's history and showcasing a gorgeous piece! I just purchased a pair of 986s from The Archive SF and my personal sizing story was all over the place - as a 9.5D/42.5 I tried a size 44, 43, and ultimately decided on a 42 as it had the best overall fit. It took about 3 days before they've stretched out to be comfortable in my feet.
Do you have any favorite tops/bottoms to pair with the 986s?
Peter Deng waow, that’s pretty incredible! I am glad you got them and fit comfortably in them! My personal favourite is to wear looser pants that can sit on top of the boots or cropped pants. To be honest, I usually wear the Guidi 986 with Yohji Yamamoto pants or other designers with a similar aesthetic. As for the top, I’ll wear a loose blazer with a t-shirt or an oversized shirt :) thank you and please let me know if that helps! How do you usually wear them?

As for pairing, I'm still figuring that out which is why I've asked haha. I come from a basic male fashion background but I fell in love with the Guidi story and style. I have straight linen pants and slimmer denim which doesn't match the flowy lines of a Yohji or the peculiarity of a Rick Owens, so it certainly would look incongruent with someone from an avant garde background. It seems like you prefer cropped, flowy pants to present the boots. How do you feel about tighter pants that stack on top of of the boots or non-black options (such as grey, olive, etc)? These boots are gorgeous and I'm curious if I need to adapt to it, it can adapt to me, or if there needs to be type of compromise!
I would love to see a video where you go into in depth styling of Guidis with things you have in your wardrobe/fashion theory like in your first video where you talk about how designers can transcend looking like they're from a specific time by finding their own style. You're a very good speaker and these videos are valuable resources because there is not enough information out there!

As for the Guidi styling, one cool ressource would be the #guidicommunity on IG: instagram.com/explore/tags/guidicommunity/. I feel like there is a lot of good styling! Also, I had the chance to meet people from Guidi and they don't see the brand as exclusively Avant-Garde. Indeed, they like to have eclectic styles adopt Guidi's craftsmanship. So no worries if you don't have a very deep Avant-Garde wardrobe. For instance, Brad Pitt that has a more traditional look, often wears Guidi with a slim fit jeans that stacks over his boots. My recommendation would be to experiment with what you have and after a couple of tries you will land on a winning combinaison :)

Hi, my true to size is IT 43, but for boots I always size down to a IT 42. Do you recommend getting a size 43 or 44 in guidis as I am still not entirely sure about that part. Loved the video, very helpful!
Hey Max! Thank you! I think if you like your boots super snug, you could go with a size 43. However, just for reference, I am a size 43.5-44 and I think if I went with a size 44 I would have to have a super slim sock and would have hope for the leather to stretch to feel comfortable. Also, I don’t know where you live but the weather make a little bit of a difference. If it’s hot, your feet will tend to be a little larger vs when it’s cold. Thanks again and I hope this helps!

Thank you for such a beautiful and informative video! I have been researching GUIDI boots for some time. The only thing holding me back is I am unsure my sizing. Do you know of any websites which would aid in providing this information? I am a size US female 8, and I think I would be either a 39 or 40 in either that boot or one very similar (so long as it zips up the back and not the front - I don’t know why I’m a stickler on zipper placement). Also, I must say the way you styled the outfit quite on point. 📌

Heather u could email customerservice@guidi.it to ask about sizing & they should respond. Best to let them know which model number you're considering (from what you described: sounds like a 986 or 786z which is double sole (higher heel). Usually i ask about outsole & insole lengths, width, & boot opening circumference. Tip: lined & unlined guidi also makes a diiference so keep that in mind. Lined typically go up a size, unlined possibly TTS. Best be sure of the length, as width will expand with wear. Hope that helps!

i'm a TTS 46 and can squeeze into 45.5 SLP boots, is the length shrinkage bad enough during production that i need a size 47? my feet are slightly narrow so i'm not too worried about width, but having my toes all smushed in would be a total bummer.
some people say backzips fit them true-to-size with a bit of stretching, but most everyone is saying sizing up 1-2 is a must :/
Hey Slate! I would feel terrible if you ordered a 46 and it was too small for you. In my experience, sizing up is a must but I could also see myself going TTS if I came across a really good deal and rolling the dice. My recommendation would be to see if there is a way to try them on via a local store if you have the chance! I hope this helps!

J’ai essayé celles-ci ainsi que les 210 dans les derniers jours dans du 42. Bien que je "rentre dedans", c’est assez serré/je peine à faire rentrer des pantalons à l’intérieur.
Je te posais la question car les 43 sont en rupture de stock chez ssense et que je veux éviter de tomber sur une réplique/contrefaçon dans le marché secondaire si je me mets à la recherche de 43.

Looking to purchase either a Rick Owens or Thom Krom off white T-shirt, but I’m not sure what size to go for. Ive a slim waist but broad across the chest and shoulders. Any thoughts? Oh great content by the way.

Thanks for the reply. I would prefer the T-shirt to be long in the body but not skin tight. Looking to create the layered look to wear with my pod shorts and cropped Rick Owen trousers. Do you have a personal preference on t shirt brands?
@@paulgilson6250 I would say my favourite t-shirts are from Rick Owens, Boris Bidjan Saberi, and Thom Krom. If you would like to use the shirt for layering, I would use a tank top instead. I have several but I would say the Ricks Tank Top from DRKSHDW is great for that. You can also find the ones with silk if you want it to be extra flowy.

When you say going at least one size up you mean in italian sizing ?
My feets are 28,5cm long (44,5fr / 43it / 10,5us / 9,5uk) so i should go for a 44 rathen than a 43 ? Or a 45 rather than a 44 ?

I am a true 42 and went with 43 in horse. Really tight in the begining but now is super nice and molded around my feet. Love them!

Thank you for your questions! I usually don't! I like to have the boots age naturally! However, for "cleaner" boots like my SLP Wyatt, I will:
1) Brush the boots to remove potential dirt
2) Wipe the boots with a lightly wet cloth
3) Wax the boots
4) Wipe lightly the boots with a dry cloth
I usually won't clean the sole but you can do it with a wet/soapy cloth.

I think it depend how you like your shoes (snug or large), if you will wear light or heavy socks, etc. If I were you, I would go with a size 46! Thank you and I hope this helps!

I am glad you liked the video :) That's a good question! In order to get the vibram sole done, you need to go to a good cobbler and ask to do it. I am not sure about the process but I think they would sand the sole, glue the vibram and trim the vibram to make it fit perfectly. Let me know if that answers :)
If half of 42 is a foot size, shouldn't you wear 44? Why are you wearing 45?
Would it fit well if someone with 43 feet size bought a size 44?
My size is typically 43.5-44 so I sized up to 45 in Guidi shoes. If you are a size 43 and went for a size 44 it should work well! I hope this helps :)
I love Guidi but how can a 1,000$+ pair of boots have such a shitty box lmao! Rick Owens however never fails in all the details with the box, tote bag, extra laces, etc...
Haha I can’t agree more! The box is definitely below expectations however their products are great quality! Rick’s boxes are great :)
