- In This Video, I will be giving my honest review of the movie Honest Review Of Fate/Grand Order: First Order, and ranking the characters on a tier list! This will be part of a multiple-part series where I go through as many of the Fate series until I lose my mind. My content is satire in nature and while it may sound like I disliked the anime it's mostly bad jokes. I will be talking about what makes it one of the greatest animes of all time... by insulting everything about it. The first season was released on Dec 31, 2016. There are currently many more branches but this movie has ended. There is a game that can play it, so I recommend reading it even though I have no idea what happens. This video contains Large spoilers, so be aware if you plan on watching the anime or reading the manga. If you do happen to read this much by some miracle, I am always open to suggestions, whether new content or problems with the videos. There Is an English dubbed of this anime available!

Ritsuka's blandness was a very discussed topic at the time and the player base basically said "we are not dumb, we can separate ourselves from the main character", and so somewhere along the American singularity Ritsuka was given a personality.
Fujimaru is just a normal guy choosen as a substitute for the main team. After completing the final Singularity he himself said he doesn't have any special move up his sleeve, he isn't a magus yet he still had faith and courage to do whatever he can as humanity's final master.
I guess if Professor Lev wouldn't have bombed all other magus candidates, then all of them would have higher chance of winning

Believe me, I too started from the anime and I thought he was really bland, I was genuinely surprised to discover that there was so much more, and from the very beginning
@@scares3859 I think there was an interview where it implies everyone else eventually gets stuck and wouldn't be able to handle the lostbelts afterwards.
They did Fujimaru dirty in the anime he had way more personality in the manga when he found out the planet was incinerated he broke down and started crying cause he realized his family and the life he had was essentially gone, then there’s the fact they skim over that he’s a kidnapped civilian that isn’t even an official mage that was picked up because they needed to fill a roster and he happened to have magical aptitudes for ray-shifting (timetraveling).

Fun Fact: Mash is based off a scrapped character from a scrapped Fate/stay night route named Tachie who becomes Shielder which was as you may have guessed was originally a scrapped class until now. Her backstory is very similar to Mash’s as well.

Babylonia is amazing
strictly speaking ep0 of Demonic Front Babylonia Anime would be the best next episode to do as it is the background of Mash and Roman and leads into First order. Story wise the singularities are fairly disconnected with us only starting to get major clues as to who's behind everything in the 4th one and Babylonia (the seventh) does a good job at hitting important plot points from the past ones with flashbacks. The Camelot movie duology (the sixth) is less important in the overall plot (especially with the cuts they made) but has major ramifications on Mash by her discovering Who the servant she is bonded with and explains both why she can tank Excalibur and why it disturbed Saber. All are paired down from the game with Camelot movie duology getting hit the worst as it removes 2 whole servants and a major sub arc that was to be followed through in Temple of Time

@@skryba_frondyjczyk "Fuji" is a common enough first character in a surname (probably because of the Fujiwara clan), seen in Fujimoto, Fujita, Fujikawa, and so on. Maru and Mura are also different kanji. So no, unlikely.

Ok so if you're somehow going to continue watching the FGO stuff then next is the two Camelot movies. They're not great because they cut some stuff from the game, but you don't play the game so its fine. After that, you watch the Babylonia anime, standard 2-cour anime. Finally the Solomon movie which is decent for what it adapted. Final chapter of FGO's 1st arc can't really develop the main cast too much with it being the end and all.

I wouldn't say Solomon was decent, since a there are a lot of problems. Especially when Belvidere's death in the Camelot movies is more emotional than Mash's death
To add to what others said about Clocktower 2015, it implies that Speedwagon guy killed himself on pretty much every timeline before "something" took over him so the Incineration of Humanity didn't happen.
Hey, just wanted to give my 2cents to whoever bothers to read this. Been an avid Fate fan for over a decade and played the game since launch. FGO unfortunately has high barriers of entry that usually puts fans off from the amazing story hidden in the later chapters.
FGO in a nutshell is like an Avengers movie, you need to see a bunch of stuff before it to really appreciate it. Tsukihime? Kara no Kyoukai? Notes? Mahoyo? Yes. All of the different Fate series? Yes. Even that yuri bait Prisma Illya? Yes (Though it is the same as FGO with a compelling story hidden behind high barriers of entry, but we talk about that another time).
FGO also suffers from a lackluster beginning. As you've pointed out in the video, most of the characters are 1-dimensional and we barely grow attached to them to mourn their passing. In the game, Fuyuki (Singularity F) is followed by some of the most forgettable chapters (Orleans, Septum) and only slightly marginally better chapters (Okeanos, London. Please don't skip Okeanos as it has a lot of relevance later in the story tho). The reason? Different writers were chosen for each of these Singularities and it wasn't until 5th Singularity America that the original writer of Fate, Kinoko Nasu, started writing the chapters. America was still a mess because Nasu, in an interview, expressed difficulty for him to plug random battles in between the plot as FGO was supposed to be a turn based game and not just a visual novel. It wasn't until Singularity 6 Camelot where the writing and gameplay took a turn for the better.
That being said, please play the game. The gacha rates are terrible and the gameplay/story is kinda meh in the beginning BUT as you progress farther it becomes amazing. Seriously. The gameplay gets harder and more interesting. Gacha servants are good, but the free servants get improvements to the point where they outclass higher rarities. Mash for example, becomes one of the best servants in the game gameplay-wise. The story becomes phenomenal. Singularity 6, 7, 8 (Camelot, Babylonia, Solomon) were an amazing conclusion to part 1. EOR though weaker, was decent in its own right (Especially SERAPH, please unlock this main interlude!!!). Then we get to Lostbelt, which deserve an anime for each (including the prologue). Along the way, we make friends with the characters and see them grow; something that wasn't present in the beginning of the story. Bonds are formed and tears are shed when meeting old friends again. The Lostbelt story also seems to keep one-upping the previous one (which I couldn't even fathom) in terms of character development, setting/plot, emotional scenes, etc. The latest Lostbelt 6 script was 3 feet high in paper and had so many turns and twists to keep you on the edge of your seat all throughout the story. Some of the events are wacky, but they grow on you alongside running jokes/plotlines that build on the nostalgia. Some events are even better than the main story plotwise (SERAPH, Summer 3, Saber Wars II, etc). Characters start playing a bigger role and backstories are fleshed out, the main cast especially!

First Order Anime: 5/10 without playing game, 6.5/10 if played the game
Camelot Anime (literally skips 5 chapters): 6/10 without playing game, 4/10 if played the game
Babylonia Anime: 7/10 without playing game, 8.5/10 if played the game
Solomon Anime: 8/10 without playing game, 8/10 if played the game
Moonlight Lost Room Anime: 2/10 without playing game, 6.5/10 if played the game
Game Story Rating:
Singularities:
Fuyuki: 6/10, start but could use improvements
Orleans: 4/10, not the best sequel to the start
Septum: 1/10, terrible chapter
Okeanos: 5/10, enjoyable and becomes relevant more later down the line. 7.5/10 after playing LB5
London: 5/10, it was alright with an abrupt ending
America: 5.5/10, better but still kinda a mess
Camelot: 8/10, phenomenal chapter
Babylonia: 9/10, how tf did this top Camelot, idk but it was awesome
Solomon: 8/10, great conclusion that utilizes the bonds and friends we made along the way
Epic of Remnant:
SERAPH (Main Interlude): 9/10, included this here because technically it's an EOR and it was superb
Shinjuku: 7/10, fun chapter, loved it
Agartha: 4/10, a mess but still readable
Shimousa: 6/10, maybe would be higher if I had a better background in JP history
Salem: 7/10, pretty good start but ending was a bit of a mess
Lostbelt:
Prologue: 8/10, solid start to the series
Anastasia: 8/10, great first LB to start with
Gotterdammerung: 7.5/10, weak beginning into a great ending and twist
SIN: 7.5/10, weak beginning into a decent story and portrayal of real life
Yugashektra: 9/10, THIS WAS A RIDE
Atlantis: 9.5/10, THIS WAS EVEN MORE OF A RIDE
Olympus: 8.5/10, perfect backstory and setup for next
Avalon: ??? unrated since it's not in NA yet but people on JP are saying it is 11/10
as someone who finished avalon le fae, it's amazing, can't say much since it would be spoilers but it's really good

Ah yep , the movie that single handedly made me think that Fate has reached the abyss with how garbage it was . Fast forward a year later and I started playing the game and till today I haven't missed a single login on my main account

You should check out The Case Files of Lord El Melloi II and Garden of Sinners. Because Typemoon is more than Fate. The FGO animes are only good if you’ve played the mobile game.

My first exposure to FGO were Babylonia and the Movies. Never played the game beforehand but I thought it was a ride
I watched fate grand order babylonia before playing the game and it was great even though I was left with so many questions but still I was happy seeing gilgamesh just making fun of Ishtar and after 2 months I started playing the game and i just reached lostbelt 4 yugakshetra

The only logical continioation from this would be the fate cooking anime imo called "Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan" or as it's known by it's english title "Today's Menu for the Emiya Family"
If I remember correctly, the Fate Grand Order Camelot movies are next because the first 5 singularities haven't been adapted and probably never will
People have probably said this but if you want a protagonist with a personality and really wanna see emotions spiked up to their most extreme, you should watch Fate Grand Carnival

Just binged every single one of this guy’s videos except for the two that I only got like halfway through because I didn’t want spoilers.
Tbf, from here you don't have much regarding FGO. Chronologically next are the Camelot movies, the Babylonia anime, the Grand Temple Of Time movie and Fate Grand Carnival(I put this here because it contains characters that have yet to appear in the previous series/movies).
Fun Fact: That little fox thing Fou is one of the most powerful characters in Tsukihime (sadly no good anime for that). For those familiar with the Tsukihime timeline, Fou is Primate Murder. You know, *the first of the twenty seven Dead Apostle Ancestors and the Monster of Gaea.* I don’t know enough about F/GO to see how it’s done in this timeline but let’s be happy they’re cute and cuddly here.
I wont spoil it for you, but Fou has a pretty important role in fgo's first part.

About the speedwagon Guy i still find it funny how quickly he dies. Remember how there was like 8 singularitys? Yeah he dies in Numbers 3 just to come back att the start off the final One, make a villan speech and die once again. He was just a minion for the main villan of part 1 and you can tell.
Now let me talk about the characters of fate grand order in small notes.
Ritsuka: is your classic Main character in the start of the story but in the lostbelts, att the end of part 1 and in alot of events he gains much more of a personality having alot of funny dialoge options and later in the story going through alot of pain and suffering (got fisted by shuten douji).
Mash: is best girl and becomes even more of a best girl as the story progresses (she protecc untill black barrel goes brrrr). Olga is dead but has a plot twist in lostbelt 5 when like every pokemon she evolves into U-Olga (stupid outfit).
Dr romani: He takes the role of the guy sitting in a chair talking over hologram. He is a great and funny character not much more to say more then that he is moral support who watches vtubers even while the world is ending (should have put a ring on it)
Now for characters that are important later.
Da vinci becomes a important character right after the movie ends. (God dammit the priest is back!).
Sherlock Holmes: he becomes a important character att the start of part 1,5 after part One and before part two (Sussy baka)
Goredolf musik: Wait... this the guy from fate apocrypha! (I do believe the cake was a lie)
You should really watch the case files of lord el melloi II next, especially if you want to see the Chad waver 😳

i highly recommend reading the Fate/Grand Order Turas Realta manga adaptation, it basically speedruns everything you're missing inbetween First Order and the movies that adapt the theater adaptation based on the Camelot singularity
also the official names of the protagonists are Gudao (male name) and Gudako (female version)
also also Mash's character will be very much lacking if you don't play the game, she's great ingame tho, going from "he let's me call him senpai uwu" to "i call him senpai" and lastly to "i am not above murder and genocide"

The game (FGO) plays as a visual novel and has pretty good writing (except septem). The singularities just get better and better and it's def worth playing for its history. Although I find the gameplay pretty good too, it's well balanced (that means every servant has an use) and the combat it's easy to pick and has a lot of depth to master.
It doesn't matter how many other gachas I play, I always find myself returning to FGO because it feels like home.
And for next FGO, go to Babylon. It's the best and next released.
If you're going in timeline order, I'd suggest the Agateram movies; Although the first one is a bit boring, the second goes hard. My personal favorite though has to be Babylonia, it's not quite Ufotable tier, but some of those fights blow me away... Plus goddess thighs...
THE Case files of El-melloi 2. Its waver but grown up teaching and solving mystery's. Its not an battle royal but truthfully only fate 0 has been that and even there it was just a backdrop.

I would say you should watch FGO Moonlight/Lost Room before FGO as it gives context, then Camelot movies, follow by Babylon and finally Solomon.
Sadly events after Fuyuki and until Camelot is only avaliable in FGO.

Imo if you're just casual watching Fate, then you might just forget the characters. If you just delve into it A LITTLE BIT, somehow you'll managed to remember all of the characters that existed.

To be honest, Saber Alter was notably nerfed here, because while in Heaven's Feels it took the colossal effort of Rider and Shirou with Archer's arm to defeat her, in First Order, Saber Alter was easily overpowered by Caster Cu Chulainn and Mashu, a recent Demi-Servant, something so illogical like Kylo Ren being defeated so easily by Rey in the Episode 7 of Star Wars.

This is a little unrelated but there's a lot of great analysis videos on fate but one of my favorites is on kirei kotomine by tsaih IV its just a great look on him in ways I didn't completely see and a dive into a kirei that is just a joy so yea it'd be pretty cool if you say it too!

If they animated the lostbelts or pseudo singularities I think you'd like them. Only things to watch after this movie are the camelot movies, Babylonia, and solomon. Then there's moonlight/lostroom that sets up the lostbelt arc if you wanna watch it after solomon.
I liked this video because of the "Dead Shinji", nothing is as satisfying as a "Dead Shinji".
Type Redline have a "Shinji" in it, and he is currently in a good position(rag doll of his servant as usual). I'm waiting for another "Shinji" to bite the dust.

If you wanted character development just play the game xd. So the story is kinda mex until the Camelot chapter. After that its great. The Camelot movies dont adapt the story from the game but from the stage performance. If you are interested you can go watch OtakuDaiKun he does a great recap and explanation of all the chapters of FGO.

There is camelot 1 & 2 movie then babylonia then solomon movie but if you want more context just watch someone explain it in youtube. I did exactly that and watched otaku daikun for the other singularity and now I love FGO more than any other fate franchise and became an addict. FTP btw
After this is the 6th singularity Camelot there are 2 movies.
Then after that Is obviously the 7TH SINGULARITY WHERE COOL MATURE GIL APPEARS.

Next on the list of sequels you have Camelot which is like the 6th singularity because they skipped the 1st , 2nd , 3rd , 4rth and 5th singularities . Watch the 2 Camelot movies and then watch Babylonia and afterwards the Solomon movie
This basically was just an ad for the game. It adapts the prologue of the story, but it doesn't really try very hard. It gets amazing later on when they actually do start putting effort into the anime adaptations though.

Just learned that that fgo Mc is the son of rin and shirou (female Mc has same hair and eye color as Shiro and male has the same the same as rin's.
Oh and yeah if u wanna know more of this concept of fate cause if ur reviewing fate it should be obvious a youtuber known as otaku daikun has reviewed every single fate series to date so u can take notes from him plus there aren't that many memes in his video it's like ur daily school lecture but a lot more interesting.

Now, after the fgo first order you have to watch fgo Camelot which is divided into 2 parts.
If you’re looking to watch the next fgo anime watch the camelot movies starting from wandering agateram and then to paladin agateram after that the babylonia anime and then the solomon movie. You’re also free to watch moonlit lost room as an epilogue to part 1 of the story. And if we’re lucky they’ll make an adaptation of epic of remnant shinjuku and shimousa and a lostbelt adaptation of probably all of them because all the lostbelt chapters are amazing and should be adapted.

Next up? Either Fate Grand Order Camelot movies one and two (since they’re next in line canonically, but pick up after the other chapters in the game. Play the game. Or for actually really good content? Fate Grand Order Babylonia because my god that was awesome. Mind you, there is another FGO movie, Solomon, which wraps things up. So watch order chronologically would be FGO: Camelot 1, Camelot 2, Babylonia and then Solomon.

I know how luckluster was the prologue singularity and it's practically pretty sus because of some stuffs like Emiya talking about Merlin in passing by calling him "the mage of flower", Salter knowing about the Grand Order and singularities before Chaldea did, her not actually fighting that much and not spamming her noble phantasm despite having the holy grail as a power source, she's basically not being controlled by Lev since the latter only appeared after Gudao and co. defeated her and the only thing connecting them is that Lev drop the grail there, why was singularity F still existing and still burning even with all the lost belt happening? And most of all, does Salter had a connection to the fight with the Alien God because of her "Defender of Humanity" skill in the game?
There's also that comment I dunno if it's Gilgamesh or someone that if beast I appeared then beast VII will also appeared. Look at singularity F and what happened to Olga then look at who's the body that the Alien God used... Lmao, blame Lev for the bleaching of Earth and the clusterfuck happening down there because he throw Olga in the Chaldea
To add to your last paragraph, yes it was Gilgamesh that mentioned the arrival of Beast 7 should Beast 1 appear.
I mean, after the movie, the next thing you should "watch" should be the first singularity, Orleans. The thing is, it doesn't have an anime or a movie. You should either play the game, or read the manga adptation (which is much better than the game version of the story btw). And it probably never will, since the first 5 singularities have either an ok writing (Orleans, 1st singulairty like I said and Okeanos, the 3rd),mediocre writing(London, 4th one),bad writing (Septem the 2nd) and decent (America, the 5th).
And that is why, in terms of watching anime and or a movie, you next stop should the Camelot duoligy, which tells the story of the of the 6th Singularity. It's here that the story starts to get good since Nasu, the person who wrote Stay Night, wrote the story for Camelot, Babylonia and Solomon, and the difference in writing is huge ngl. I still will say that, the movies are inferior to the version in the game, since the movies combine are like, 3 hours in total, and the number of hours in cutscenes in the game is close to 10 hours, so somethings were cutted from the game, so I recommend to temper your expectations. Also, since Camelot is the 6th Singularity, don't be suprised that some things seem to be missing, since your missing chunks of the story. Yeah, the first 5, (6 if you count Fuyuuki) are not memorable, but they are still stories, and therefore still have an important thing here or there that will matter later on the line.
After that, is the Babylonia anime, which are 24 or 25 episodes if I'm not mistaken. In the game it has more than 10 horus of cutscenes, but the anime is good enough to watch it on it's own. The only complain I have personaly is that Ritsuka has like one funny moment, but that's about it. He's basic in the anime, which is a shame because he is much more interesting in the game since you can choose what he says. Many wished he was like Yu in the Persona 4 anime, which he mainly does meme things from the game. I get why they decided to go for the more bland responses and not the funny ones, but still.
Finally, the Solomon. The finale of the part 1 of the game. It's basically endgame, with every servant that helped you in your journey giving you a hand to fight Solomon and defeat him once and for all. It's a good movie, but it cuts some significant moments that hit hard in the game. But you should be able to enjoy it
After that, if you still will only watch Fate series in anime/movie only, your journey in GO ends here, since there's no adaptation bout the Epic of Renmant, which is part 1.5, let alone the Lost Belts, which is part 2 (fuck, Part 2 didn't even end yet, we will only start getting stuff about the last Lost Belt at the end of this year, and that's just Japan only)

Now, I'd advise to watch Babylonia first rather than Camelot, due to Episode 0 adding a few stuff left out in this movie.

But yeah, Fate Extra Last Encore, it also the only Anime 'Original' so far. As it not an adaptation like the rest but more a side story or companion piece to the Fate Extra timeline.

If you want to continue watching the FGO good animes then what I would actually watch next is FGO: Absolute demonic front Babylonia. Probably one of the best game-anime adaptations I have ever seen and it has great animation and fights. Afterwards, I would just watch FGO: grand temple of time, then the game's trailers they put out for events.

Dude, there are 8 singularyties, first order is like the introduction, the first (Orleans), second (okeanos), third (Rome), fourth (london) and the fifth (america) are not animated they are just in the game, so JUST SEARCH A SUMMARY IN UA-cam, from that point You can continue by the Camelot movies etc. Hope it helps and love your videos
