The worm-head lady is the "Female Leech" model from the Epic Games Marketplace. I remember seeing that thing and wondering, "Who would ever use that in an actual game!" Now I know.
An important rule of thumb is whenever something looks spooky/horrifying yet weirdly erotic it will - at the very least - have a use in a horror experience
I had lost your channel but then the memories came flooding back and I knew I had to find it again. But I couldn't remember the name, I could remember one thing however. Your sick intro calling us the Goth Gamer Nation. So after searching that I'm glad to be back home and thankful for your catchy phrase.
I would be super down if the lantern could get upgraded to like one of those acetylene torch hats that miners used to wear.. they actually provided a lot of light for what it's worth.. there's a little flame that's just doing this little flame thing in the reflective mirror casing
"I see we like many of the same things" may be an exact quote of what I said when I found your channel, Grimby. Also, man, the "dry spell" vibe I'm getting from the designer of this game (judging by his models) is def a mood. I feel that, dude. Fuckin' breakup-into-isolation-by-quarantine is an experience I could have done without living. Heh.
Neat. Looks promising. Anyway, I've found a functional copy of Black Dahlia and the means to make it work flawlessly on modern PCs, so let me know if you want to review some more crusty FMV games in the future.
Bro... it would be amazing if u made a review about twin peaks, that show was incredible and I think it aligns really well with your analysis, nice video as always ;)
This looks fairly promising. Reminds me a bit of this WIP called The Vestigial Princess. Dev made it playable as a free DLC to their main game, Grave Prosperity which feels a bit odd but whatever. Similar 3rd person gameplay only with a bigger focus on melee combat. Actually thought this project was related since Princess is also a single dev game that's somewhat deprioritized in favor of another current project. Might be worth checking out on Steam.
Love the short impressions as well as the deep dives. Even though Im quite unsettled by alien themed movies and games, I want to say that I'll still try "Greyhill Incident" as well as "They are Here" in 2023. Do those games interest you? I'd very much love to hear your thoughts on them!!
Sadly yes. He started getting so many copyright claims that he's stopped them. Though I think he's making another channel for them so that they can live on without having his normal channel taken down.
I swear to God, demon hunters, and monster hunters are always seriously under armored for the job. Why is that never brought up in local 666, the Demon Hunters Union?
What’s making the biggest impression on me here is the camera movement. I prefer 3PS games over FPS, but when the character movement and camera feels too responsive and snappy, it can make it look/feel artificial. Like your character doesn’t have weight, and you’re camera gliding and snapping. Maybe some might think “cinematic” feeling cameras hamper with control and they WANT the responsiveness? I could get that. But at the very least, the camera’s height and angle feels like the game wasn’t built with that view in mind. Everything is distorted and at a dramatic angle. Maybe if environments weren’t as claustrophobic and the cam had room to breathe, the angle wouldn’t have to be so wide?
Resident evil 4 does the things you mentioned nearly perfect. Won't move camera until it reaches a corner of the screen. Also uses higher ceiling areas and avoids narrow heights all the time.
another recommend for Grimbead to play Tormented Souls....actuallu, I'm sure he probably has. Personally, I gave up on it as it was too bloody annoying and my 45 year old self had forgotten how frustrating old school survival horror could be
The indie scene has recently given us several of the best survival horror games of the last decade. Which, as a huge fan of the genre, makes me very happy. Be sure to check out 'Alisa', 'Daymare 1998', and especially 'Tormented Souls' if you enjoy classic survival horror games. Despair looks super promising too and I'm looking forward to trying the demo out for myself. Cheers Grim. (Also, how the hell have you not reviewed A Plague Tale: Innocence yet? A rat obsessed weirdo like yourself would get a lot of enjoyment out of it....Maybe too much enjoyment out of it....forget I said anything.)
Of course all videogames need rats! Especially ones with repetitive squeaks and erratic movements that constantly ding you for 1hp every time you come into contact. It's the little things that makes gaming so enjoyable...
I watched this at, like, 3:15 in the AM, deciding to watch stuff until I’m lulled to sleep once more, like a baby lamb. When you uttered the phrase “sexy tube worm ladies” my girlfriend beside me stirred from her slumber and wished to see said ladies. I just thought you should know.
I'm loving your channel with all these old game reviews, Unknown indy game reviews. actual reviews with humor sprinkled all over it. Some ambient rat sounds in the sewers would be nice 👌 If i was going to make 1 suggestion based on what i see through the review... he should make the enemies less Spongey. "maybe 1 notch too horny" hahaha XD 5:30 I just clicked on this video because i was all like "Oh she looks like BloodRayne! 😍"
I suspect the recoil from attaching an axe head to a sawn-off shotty would make the user's hand go down instead of up because of the weight distribution, effectively making them chop into their own thigh.
ugh i hate when developers make their female characters walk with their hips swaying like that, would not be able to play without feeling so skeeved out
Yeah, it feels off. There is a moment for sashaying sexily and it's not in the middle of exploring a mansion full of monsters. The character design (and some of those statues) are obviously going for a slightly sensual vibe, but that walk cycle overdoes it.

Man this has been a rough week but fresh Grimbeard content ALWAYS improves my day. Big goth thanks
I am a middle age normie gamer. May I ask what goth thanks is? I imagine Hot Topic, but not disgusting capitalism?
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite gaming channels. Older games, lesser known games, forgotten games. Right up my alley. Peace dude!
I really do appreciate the thickness of the asset's in this game
I hope this “Grim Beard” fella makes a review of the darkness duology at some point in time or another… ah, perchance to dream.
Yes, yes... This would be pleasant.
Is it on steam/GOG?
@@Darek_B52 darkness 2 is but darkness 1 is stuck on consoles
I really hope grimpressions happen more often, bite sized grimbeard uploads are so welcome
I had lost your channel but then the memories came flooding back and I knew I had to find it again.
But I couldn't remember the name, I could remember one thing however.
Your sick intro calling us the Goth Gamer Nation.
So after searching that I'm glad to be back home and thankful for your catchy phrase.
Keep doing things.
Even when rats aren't around.
You should also play Tormented Souls. Grade A homage to classic survival horror.
Dude I love your content so much. Please don’t ever stop 🥺
GrimBeard keeping the post-moving spookies away with a new video, thank God.
This channel is such a hidden gem. Keep up the great work Grim.
“Groping around” as he’s looking at a monsters ass. Great commentary!
I know grimpression means 'impression', but when I think of grimbeard, I just read it as 'depression'.
I love this man.
I would seriously love to see this channel blow up.
She has a gun axe. As a lover of obscure weapons (at least to the modern eye) that's a +1 in my book.
Cooler than a bayonet and more practical than a sword or axe alone, the gun axe!
I would be super down if the lantern could get upgraded to like one of those acetylene torch hats that miners used to wear.. they actually provided a lot of light for what it's worth.. there's a little flame that's just doing this little flame thing in the reflective mirror casing

HYPED for the deconstruction of every Supernatural episode. SUPHYPE
Neat. Looks promising. Anyway, I've found a functional copy of Black Dahlia and the means to make it work flawlessly on modern PCs, so let me know if you want to review some more crusty FMV games in the future.
I love the intro song for grimpressions. Is there a full version and can I have it please?
Maybe the real blood curse was the friends we made along the way.
Bro... it would be amazing if u made a review about twin peaks, that show was incredible and I think it aligns really well with your analysis, nice video as always ;)
Petition for episode by episode review of Twin Peaks.
That would be awesome! The reviews could be a little bit longer for twin peak episodes.
"Pretty Assets" "I see we like many of the same things and I want to see this made and I want to see this do well"
This series is very good
This looks fairly promising. Reminds me a bit of this WIP called The Vestigial Princess. Dev made it playable as a free DLC to their main game, Grave Prosperity which feels a bit odd but whatever. The way the blood splashes in this game is just. exquisite.
Too cartoonish for me.
Thanks for the review. I may check it out.
The blood effects look interesting
Nice Stuff man
I find your desire to squeeze Home Alone out of Resident Evil a refreshing notion. Someone should do something with it, yet I'm not sure what exactly.
What happend to the supernatural reviews?
"Dean, did we get deleted?" "Sammyyyyyyyyyyy"
Sadly yes. He started getting so many copyright claims that he's stopped them. Though I think he's making another channel for them so that they can live on without having his normal channel taken down.
What happened to Grimby's Supernatural series?
Did the headhunters finally come to shut it down? 😌
I think I have a pretty good guess for what species Grim's is fursona now, given his main gripe with the game I mean.
What’s up Gothgamer 👑!
I swear to God, demon hunters, and monster hunters are always seriously under armored for the job. Why is that never brought up in local 666, the Demon Hunters Union?
They tried at the last meeting, but the shop steward wanted to re-open the discussion on retirement benefits. Again.
What’s making the biggest impression on me here is the camera movement. I prefer 3PS games over FPS, but when the character movement and camera feels too responsive and snappy, it can make it look/feel artificial. Like your character doesn’t have weight, and you’re camera gliding and snapping.

like the camera is so high, you’re always looking down. Like the floor is in our view the most. Maybe lower the camera height a bit
Resident evil 4 does the things you mentioned nearly perfect. Won't move camera until it reaches a corner of the screen. Also uses higher ceiling areas and avoids narrow heights all the time.
Game and dip!
That shotgun.... someone is a fan of Hunt: Showdown
Uh oh, he's on that no sleep goth diet again.
Monster hunter rise has its hooks in me again, and while im slaying countless beasties i have you on in the back round
Classic Goth Gamer genius, but if that hour glass figure get any less buxom, you know I’m storming a legislative building.
We really need another real entry in the Bloodrayne series.
So sad that it stopped : (
Hey Grim, you might wanna check out the Mortician's Assitant
Love you
Hey grimbeard, please put your music on Spotify.
no
@@SweetPeteInTheBackSeat maybe
This, but on vinyl.
Seriously.
I just realised the YewTewb overlords don't actually serve up Grimpressions videos to me, so I've got some catching up.
Director of Photography: Bill Roe.
We have Bloodrayne at home:
u da bess grim
Neat
mreheheh pretty assets he says mrehehehhhh
i am fatigued
Hey fella!
Golly goths always so dark DISPAIR this CURSE that how about playing some happy jumpy doggy go go. SMOKER!
Just noticed the videos on supernatural are all down. RIP goth hunters.
They're gradually being reuploaded to another channel.
another recommend for Grimbead to play Tormented Souls....actuallu, I'm sure he probably has.

Grim do a Bloodrayne 2 review pls

rats are sick
Anna kinda reminds me of Sunset Shimmer
are u goin to review tormented souls? if u havent played it i highly recomend it

I wish eternal darkness looked loke this.
I think that protagonist going somewhere to rescue its relatives, especially younger brothers or sisters, is the dumbest premise there is.
I'm loving your channel with all these old game reviews,

Review suggestion: Get Even
we want rats
So is this the canon prequel to Vampire Hunter Ina 2?
Rat lobby remains strong, I see.
Demos are like ur Supernatural series except I haven't fallen off
What happened to the Supernatural / Darkened Stream videos?
Did the supernatural videos get removed?
Game looks good. Only thing I dont like is the UE4 blood effects. Thry just so bad. Same thing happened to Callisto Protocol
After playing fobia I gotta say a lot of horror games are door opening simulators or an endless hunt for keys to find more keys
Not gonna out loud mention that the axe shotgun is the best videogame idea since the gunblade 😂😂
Tormented Souls was amazing loved it, for me it's a true modern classic, so I'll give this one a try
💘💘💘😎👍
sgo sgo sgo
It's resident evil but with a hot goth waifu derivative Rayne.
I suspect the recoil from attaching an axe head to a sawn-off shotty would make the user's hand go down instead of up because of the weight distribution, effectively making them chop into their own thigh.
I don't know if that's more or less of a thirst trap than Bloodrayne
That hip sway is pure thirst trap lmao
Grim must love Dishonered, no? 🐀🐀🐀🐀
The blood splatter effects look super goofy
ugh i hate when developers make their female characters walk with their hips swaying like that, would not be able to play without feeling so skeeved out
Why is this prudish attitude so common now? I feel like we've regressed
It's definitely weird when the atmosphere is so dire. Horniness and horror don't mix well.
Yeah, it feels off. There is a moment for sashaying sexily and it's not in the middle of exploring a mansion full of monsters. The character design (and some of those statues) are obviously going for a slightly sensual vibe, but that walk cycle overdoes it.
All this rat talk is making me wonder when are you going to do a Plague Tale review
0/10 rats
Not a bad preview of a demo, but the outro/intro music are awkward teenage white angst.
So What
Teens love emo music.
That's his shtick. HES A GOTH GAMER
Your words offer nothing.
