Thanks, Doctor, for making this sit down possible. I am a blogger who has followed Thembekile Mrototo's journey & it was a refreshing moment to hear him narrating his journey. He's a strong voice in journalism, which is a stream I borrow ethics from, quite a lot and this episode has left something solid in me. There's still hope for South African journalism.
Dr Dlozi the constituency want answers, is the EFF Malema's Kingdom? What is your view on the future of "Leftist" politics going forward in S.A regarding the GNU. Dr Dlozi we need your input in the SMWX like in yesterday
Wooow, Thembi's mom used to work at a Laundry in Brandwag, she looooooved Education with all her heart. She was very proud of her son a lot at the time and believed that one day he was going to rise to prominence
My Home Boy Thembekile, I am inspired. I fell deeper into communication/ Journalism , I’m currently on my first year in Corporate Communication. I’ll be a Police Spokesperson soon.
Halala! My one request as a humble citizen of this great nation is, WHEN (not if) you do become the spokesperson of the police force, PLEASE be a beacon of honesty and integrity to the organisation. Don't let the politics get in the way of you shining some light into those dark corners. You got this! P.s. If you ever need someone to hook you up with some stylish looks, holler at me!
Oh man, I hardly watch TV mara Thembekile has a very commanding voice that says "listen to what I am saying, you want to hear this". Thank you for bringing him in. I love him.
Can't help feeling this proud. My home town Bloem is proud too Thembi. With such incisive thinking prowess, SA is destined to be more the world needs at this time in history. You are certainly running to hold the baton tightly. Thank you Dr. Mpofu🎉
I purely love Thembekile Mrototo. He's just one of the coolest dudes. I used to enjoy listening to him reading the news on 702 while driving to work! I loved him then and love him now.
Shoutout to Sizwe & the SMWX team. Currently there is nothing better than this channel in the entire Country when it comes to News & Political Content.🔥🇿🇦🔥
He is so necessarily strict on the Big Debate with time🤣 I love him so much. I enjoy his projects! So keen to see him go onto projects and doing different things!
Uncle Sizwe please don't tell anyone about your secret. I love your guests. Don't tell anyone unless you in your deathbed how you choose your guests and how you stay versatile with all your guests. Love it bhuti❤❤❤
Thembhekile and U Sizwe, thanks for your dedication and commitment to deliver Fearless, Accurate News without Favour nor Prejudice, simply Truthful and Engaging commentary on EVERYTHING, Izwe liyabulela and proud of what you do. Danko 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I love this interview! Thembekile's personality is really great for an interview like this. Big up to him for committing to a high work ethic, the resultant professionalism is highly palpable. All the best guys!🔥👏🏾👏🏾
You just gained a subscriber purely off of the fact that you have Thembekile ❤❤❤❤. Ayanda Nyathi or Cathy are also exceptional reporters. ❤ Big ups for for this. Thank you so much ❤❤❤
Thembekile must consider getting into the podcast space and fill the gab where media is failing us. So much repair is to be done in journalism, it's sad.
Wow congrats my brother/sister Thembekile for knowing what you wanted to do in the early age; im 30 today i don't even know what i want to do and that is destroying me bit by bit
You doing the right things Sizwe, you don’t want us to rest now it’s the guy I watched growing in the news stream more like you in your SABC days. Keep them coming 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Interesting how this show has helped us grt to see personalities as human beings. Learned a lot about thia vibrant guy. I fully agree with his outlook at what is wrong with journalism lately...same mistake being made by politicians on what thry communicate to voters is being done by news presenters. Focusing on unfruitful things instead of educating us as to why something matters. Hope they are watching
Thank you Sizwe for the guests you are bringing. Great interview. Being a fan of SMWX your guests especially those who are in the media space actually has actually showed that you guys are not just presenters and reading scripts on your shows. There is a lot of hardwork and application that goes behind closed doors. Manje sengiyazi esinibona kumaTV aniwona nje ama presenters but you are actually great people and intellectuals. Ayeye!
31:02 Couldn't agree more! He is spot on. With few reporters rotating across multiple outlets, it's crucial that these channels hire more. As he pointed out, this sharing model can actually stimulate job creation and reduce unemployment among journalists. They should also prioritize hiring new fearless talent to strengthen this industry.
Thembekile has grown up i remember seeing him for the first time on TV ,he was very young and what he has just narrated to Sizwe one could read on him then.
Sizwe we are grateful to what you are doing. You be interview very prominent persons. Kodwa Sizwe mntanami, kindly provide an air-conditioning device. Bafa abantu ukujuluka😊
Such a sensible view on journalism, this is what frustrates most of us. I hope someone does something about this well considered view. It's wild to imagine Thembekile only stepped onto the scene a decade ago, what an absolute star deserving of all the accolades and awards he gets!
The overall message of this interview seems to tie a lot with the recent Ta-Nahisi Coates interview on CBS. Outside of the horrible interviewer, the overall message from that interview, and the book was to emphasise the importance of good reporting. The media has a responsibility to make sense of the chaos. It’s not easy, nor is it sometimes immediately rewarding. But it is SO, SO important. The thread about how mainstream media is becoming “fast food” is so true. In a world where news breaks happen on social media, it is the responsibility of journalists to contextualise. Not every bit of news is necessary, and media houses should have the guts to say when something is trivial. Otherwise, it’s just an information overload. Bra Sizwe, I am continually amazed. Keep pushing. Your works serves the nation greatly. ♥️
I think I enjoyed bro Thembs more kuno mam Modise whom I felt she is so reserved and trying to tip toe more carefully, did she even review the Presidency of Ramaphosa, she probably did but I missed it. Great conversations njengesiqhelo
@brightonmukwindidza9627 I personally have no interest whatsoever in hearing what any Zimbabwean or Nigerian has to say. If you want to listen to kwerekweres go to penuel's platform. I am here on this platform because they are discussing pressing South African political issues. The day they stop doing that I will not tune in.
My mother always said that if someone gets offended by a question it means they got something to hide. All these politicians that keeps getting offended and want apologies are definitely hiding some skeletons.😂
DR sizwe please when you interview someone in government, please ask about taxi association abusing civilians please, they take people's cars and beat them for even carrying family members in their cars!!
SMWX keeps delivering because you keep watching. 😁🙌🏽
