I definitely need to talk more about characters like Phone Guy sometime down the line because there really is a lot you can read into with him, in the both the writing and voice acting department, Scott did an incredible job.
The Phone Guy is particularly interesting because his duplicitous nature is not malicious in any way. While the first game made it appear as if he was willingly covering his ears to the danger that Freddy's poses, the second game onwards retconned his character into being a massive fanboy who lies to keep the façade of family fun not just to keep his job, but to keep his favourite characters (particularly Foxy) alive. It makes his death in the first game a far bigger tragedy than a mere tension-builder; for he kept trying to ignore the complete hellscape that the franchise had been since it was founded, and that ignorance led to his death. If he had just let go, he would still be alive.

Really great video. I love seeing appreciation for our amazing voice actors that bring these beloved characters to life. Although, may I just mention, the most overlooked FNaF voice provider that you didn't end up including: *Suzanne Elise Freeman* I wish more people talked about her. She has by far done the most voice work for this franchise, with well over 100 hours of audio and has been constantly in the same position for over 6 years now, if not longer. She is the main non-diagetic FNaF narrator pretty much and I'm pretty certain 70% of the fanbase wouldn't even know what she's from if not told. I think she does the audiobooks fantastically. Because, yeah, she's the official audiobook narrator. Did everything since The Silver Eyes, up to The Bibbiedots Conclusion. Her voice is still how I imagine Charlie, even though Jena Rundus has technically spoken in adult voice in other games. The vibe and atmosphere she builds even for the less good anthology stories certainly is part of why I am such a huge fan of the books. Really wish she got more recognition for her phenomenal work. Not complaining about the non-inclusions though. Just thought it'd fit the topic to talk about some VAs you missed :P
Oh wow had no idea. I never considered bringing up the audiobooks when talking about the voice actors but that is a good point. Having that much of an involvement in the series for that long, it's a shame she's so overlooked. The fact that she's had to read so many FNaF books alone should earn her the recognition lol. Seriously though that's really interesting. That might be the most obscure corner of voiceover in FNaF, the audiobooks.
@@bonkboy4386 Oh, totally. There's actually plenty of interesting trivia about them. Like how they have their own custom music tracks, or how Frights originally lacked Stitchwraith Stingers before Scott was notified.

Really good video! FNaF's voice acting is an aspect of the series I like, never really process the importance of until its laid out like this. It's really amazing, and the actors do such a phenomenal job across the board. One note about the video I have is the audio leveling is a bit off at times, speaking from experience that can REALLY bite you back if you're not careful. I try and pay really close attention to making sure everything is at the same relative volume now cus I've screwed it up bad myself in the past >.< it's super important. It's not too bad here, mind you, just keep it in mind in the future! Looking forward to whatever future content you wind up putting out.
Ahh darn I was worried about that, you know considering the whole subject of the video is basically sound design, that's the last thing you'd wanna mess up with lol. I'll definitely try to be more careful in future though, thanks for the tip! Thank you for stopping by as well, I love your channel, so this means a lot to me :)
Kudos to you for being one of the few to talk about voice acting in FNaF & actually be positive about it for once. ^-^ Most people I see only shit on it for "rUiNiNg tHe aTmOsPhErE" of the horror or something along those lines, which is only really agreeable of SB & even then, that's only because of poor execution & rushed half-baked content to get money from the franchise, not because of the actual voice acting itself, which is pretty decent in my opinion, especially for GR. Freddy (good ole Kellen Goff), Montgomery Gator & to a lesser extent Vanny (when she's actually present).
Absolutely! If anything the voice acting elevates the horror, and I'd much rather talk about why it works when it does than bash the talents of these voice actors just because their voices weren't used in a specific way or whatever. I really like the voice acting in FNaF, and I hope I at least came close to doing it justice heheh
@@bonkboy4386 Exactly! I mean, have these people NEVER seen ghost children in a horror game? The giggles, the visual horror of the dead's ghastly faces of disturbing happiness, the subtle threatening words coming out of manifested souls of malicious intent. I'm most certain you have done it the justice it deserves & I am so thankful of you for doing so, maybe now the community will start to look at it in a better light? Probably never, children never learn until they're held at gunpoint or hitting range, but we can hope for the mature members to learn.

@@thechoirtar6077I know this is 9 months old, but I don't think Security Breach was for getting a quick buck from the FNAF franchise, there was a TON of love put into that game, but they were WAY to ambitious for something they couldn't pull off in such a short time, and with Coivd and all, hopefully it was a learning experience for them for future games, they fixed a lot of issues with the Ruin DLC.
@@it2spooky4me79 Maybe not originally, but the fact that they took up Sony's awful "deal" that forced it to become "kid-friendly" (to the point of removing Vanny's knife, a character who barely exists in any timeline and probably never will exist now, therefore is a pointless character) and made them scrap SO MUCH content suggests otherwise, that or extreme foolishness by lesser minded people. It seemed to of made them realise what not to do thankfully, though I will hold my breath on them not viewing the franchise as a cash cow opportunity to milk to its last drop until I see something so genuine and not painfully flawed to the point where it's not even funny or just an overlooked mistake that I can safely say otherwise about them.
There's a big part of me that misses the uniqueness of the original games and their uses of voice, since they're some of the only examples of a character maintaining their uncanniness while also having a voice. UCN and AR was basically just fanservice but I still love them for that, especially Mangle and Freddy's lines in AR, they're some of my favorites in the franchise. It's also neat knowing Kellen did in fact show up as an extra for the fnaf movie, replacing foxy's stock sound humming with his own song (which sounds identical btw, he did great). Hopefully with the 10 year anniversary we'll get a game that goes back to the roots of Scott's games because man I miss them

I definitely need to talk more about characters like Phone Guy sometime down the line because there really is a lot you can read into with him, in the both the writing and voice acting department, Scott did an incredible job.
@@bonkboy4386 I shall watch that when you do :)
phone guy is awesome i agree
i think scott's making a new fnaf in clickteam? so he might come back there? we'll find out ig
22:56 for those who are too lazy to back the video but want to know what was that split-second text, "Editor's Note: I'M LITERALLY GETTING CHILLS AS I LISTEN BACK TO THIS OMFG IT'S SO CREEPY I LOVE IT SO MUCH"
The day I watched My Little Pony: The Cutie Map I was a sick kid laying on the couch. So when I heard Springtrap’s jumpscare audio in that episode I genuinely thought I had gotten so sick that I was delusional.
*What.*
Where?
@@soluna4784 When Fluttershy reveals to the townsfolk that Starlight never erased her own cutie mark - she turns on the townsfolk and a shortened version of Springtrap’s scream plays. You can find it in the actual ep or just google “FNAF 3 scream mlp” and find it.
once balloon boys laugh was in an episode of shameless 😭
i mean hi not laugh
His voice shows up in a lot of places and it always sticks out like a sore thumb lmao
Ballora's VA literally just sounds like her when speaking normally i swear, she was made for the role
I’ve always really liked phone guy, he’s essentially the face of Fazbear for the player, since we don’t hear from any CEO or higher up in the company. So it’s fitting that he’s a faceless, kinda shifty person who doesn’t particularly care about your or the kids roaming the pizzeria’s safety. As well as not fully committing to reading the whole company introduction, and passing over the more worrying details about your safety being at risk and not covering life/injury insurance, and downplaying how much danger you’re in from the animatronics he obviously knows are dangerous and have killed people before, previous guards, customers, etc. He’s the perfect character to show that the Fazbear company is only worried about their own reputation and financial stability, and not your safety or wellbeing, but still downplaying it to keep you around and somewhat confident/sure in your position
with Kellen being both the voice of Glamrock Freddy and a jojo villain (Diavolo), I sometimes hear the two kinda cross over, like "hey wait a minute"
Kellen is also the voice of Kai Chisaki (aka Overhaul) in the english version of My Hero Academia

great
Really great video. I love seeing appreciation for our amazing voice actors that bring these beloved characters to life.
Although, may I just mention, the most overlooked FNaF voice provider that you didn't end up including: *Suzanne Elise Freeman*
I wish more people talked about her.
How VERY VERY INTERESTING, i had no clue! Well, she definately deserves praise for all she has done!
*Wait, that means she spoke the Springtrap Mpreg story out loud.*
The golden freddy laugh popping up in a cartoon makes it 10x funnier. I think Scott owns these stock sounds now even if it's technically free to use.
honestly, every time i watch your videos i just am like “damn. this guy could play michael afton.” like seriously your voice is really measured like william’s but you sound like how i imagine michael actually sound (no offense pj whose william voice is iconic)
edit: i see that text during the “william stressing his Ss” 👁️👁️ are we all down bad for this guy’s voice
Scott, the people have spoken, they want me as the new Michael Afton! I love Michael and I love his voice so it always makes me giddy when people say I sound like him hehe
(Anyone who says they aren't is lying, LISTEN TO HIM)
25:16
Dawko: Funtime Freddy [clap] go for it
Kellin: *AAAAAAAAAA*
I was so shocked to learn that William is part alpaca 🦙
YEEEAAHHH THE OOFTROOP YEAAHG
Andy Field probably had a fun time recording the "Exotic Butters" line
Hearing Henry's stern voice break when speaking of the victims or his daughter is so heart wrenching, Dave Steele did so well
Scrap Baby: Where are you?
Dawko: Shut up bi---.
And Kellen did get to voice Foxy’s singing in the movie! :D
9:01 love this part
"die"
can't believe luke from street fighter is also nightmarionne
Its official boys.
Medic is canon to Fnaf.
"Vhen ze children woke up, zheir bodies vhere missing and ze murderer vas never heard from again! HAHAA!"
“Funtime Freddy..go for it.”
“AÆAÆAA-“
"Listen To My Voice, And You Will Find The Key."
"When You Can See, How Fast Can You Flee?"
"Be Sure Your Step, Through The Heart Of Madness."
This was definetly worth the wait! Amazing job as always!
I'm glad you think so!! I'll do my best to keep it up :D
36:07 coming back to this, im glad kellen got to actually appear in the fnaf movie
i always argue that fnaf world is a return to form for scott since he had done mainly rpg's before fnaf
it's nice to know kellen goff did get into the fnaf movie
9:05 “go forward stop DIE” *preppy scooper 😂
the way you used the markiplier meme was genius
Kudos to you for being one of the few to talk about voice acting in FNaF & actually be positive about it for once. ^-^
Most people I see only shit on it for "rUiNiNg tHe aTmOsPhErE" of the horror or something along those lines, which is only really agreeable of SB & even then, that's only because of poor execution & rushed half-baked content to get money from the franchise, not because of the actual voice acting itself, which is pretty decent in my opinion, especially for GR.
We all know that ghost children are horrifying because it's taking something innocent & corrupting it into something truly demonic & inhuman.
I'm most certain you have done it the justice it deserves & I am so thankful of you for doing so, maybe now the community will start to look at it in a better light? Probably never, children never learn until they're held at gunpoint or hitting range, but we can hope for the mature members to learn.
@@bonkboy4386 Also Michella Moss will always be the best & only one fit for Ballora's voice, ever since Ballora's debut Michaella Moss made her shine like a true star, even though the bigger majority of the community don't treat Ballora as anyone important or relevant to the franchise (arseholes).
23:05Editors Note: I’m literally getting chills as I listen back to this OMFG it’s so creepy I love it so much
"Can we get a funtime freddy" "okay AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
Henry's final monolog in Pizza Sim is the greatest mic drop of all time
There's a big part of me that misses the uniqueness of the original games and their uses of voice, since they're some of the only examples of a character maintaining their uncanniness while also having a voice.
Hopefully with the 10 year anniversary we'll get a game that goes back to the roots of Scott's games because man I miss them
18:22 this statement, especially the part about a body without its skeleton, goes SO hard dude
“Blah blah blah now that might sound bad I know but Fazbear Entertainment is committed to family fun and above all accidents/injury/death.”
25:22 that cut scream got me so hard 😂
I’m gonna be really sad now if Kellen Goff and Andy aren’t in the movie TvT
I'll be searching through crowds of background characters looking for them the entire time I'm watching the movie. It would be so cool if they did show up though, not just for them but also because having voice actors from the games appear in the movie would be such a fun detail!
@@bonkboy4386 FR, but maybe it's fine if they don't show up either,, I feel like I'd be the only one in the theater freaking out about background character #36 lmao
Hindsight is 2023 of November and I can confirm that Kellen Goff is in the Movie. He said on Twitter/X that he did the Vocals of Foxy’s Huming
17:40 nooo scott don't say sorry it's one of the best lines in the games, even the slowed down sounds cool asf
21:35 I just love the hand and tutorial unit voices. I love playing phone guy and these guides as of I can easily mimic them.
Hooray!
Nice one. Very clever playing land down under for the men at work part
Weirdly, Kellen Goff’s version of Afton fits the personality he actually has while PJ Heywood fits the person Afton _thinks_ he is.
This video is literally so underrated, especially considering how long it is!
I hope more people find this 🙏
This guy needs to be famous. Excellent video by all means, the audio and visual quality, the editing, the script, and especially the humor which is really subtle when it is there but cracked me up every single time. Love it. I was utterly shocked when I scrolled down to like the video and saw the channel had 8k subs and legit thought it was 8 million for a second when I first saw it.
For all your talk of voice acting...gotta say you wouldnt make a bad voice actor yourself!
Great job man. The production quality on these vidoes is amazing, the writing, editing, voicover, music choice. Its all fantastic. You certainly deserve all the viewership you get!
I consider this to be one of my weaker uploads, but that's incredibly nice of you to say; my talk of voice acting comes from an immense passion for the subject, so this comment means a lot. Thank you very much :)

The passion certainly shines through. I would go so far as to say not to worry about being too pedantic or lengthy in your discussions, your obvious passion and love for the subject makes it more than worthwhile!

1:41 Surprised to hear Kick Buttowski as a source for Golden Freddy’s laugh! I forgotten about that show.
The Luigi Vendetta song also pulls from the Toreador March like Freddy’s Music Box
William Afton sounding like joker is kinda cool honestly

13:46 I CAN'T BREATHE HELP WHY IS THIS SO FUNNY
I really admire the work the voice actors have done and continue to do in this series. I love them
Still find it kinda random that apparently Toy Bonnie's VA was revealed to be a former audio director or operator or something at Illumix. Kind of a random person to do it especially when they were supposed to have a voice in UCN but was cut
absolute banger of a video. I oftentimes feel voice acting, especially in video games, is overlooked and taken for granted, and fnaf’s use of it always intrigued me because of how unconventional it was. this video provided the deep dive I always wanted, and with fantastic editing that makes it even more superb. great video!
Bro that 87 bit was just to good
Great video! Can't wait for the next one ^^
I love hearing the voices of the characters in the casual talking of the voice actors!
All I have to say was was for German Freddy yet another character to explain it would also be the child catcher from chity chity bang bang

I think most of the voices do a wonderful job (I have not seen gameplay of fnaf world, so I can't speak on those actors). But the actor who voices Henry in pizza sim was my favorite. His delivery of that monologe always sends chills down my spine cuz it's so well done. He deserves major props!
