Exploring Japan's Oldest Folk Song: Kokiriko Festival 2024 in Gokayama, Toyama

I visited the Kokiriko Festival held on September 26, 2024 in the Gokayama region of Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture.
Gokayama is known for its World Heritage Site of Gassho-Zukuri villages. The “Kokiriko” sung here is said to be the oldest folk song in Japan, and according to one theory, the origin of the song can be traced back 1,400 years ago.
