      Thank you (you're awesome). I forget that's how I got things to go my way *a lot* when I was growing up. I guess I forgot because I stopped thinking of things as being difficult...but now that my physical strength & stamina aren't nearly what they used to be things ARE a lot harder....so i need to take your advice. lol

      How do you mentally do that tho

    • @grape512
      @grape512 3 роки тому

      @@Londonwize Sometimes you make a quick assessment of how you can realistically accomplish something and then jump right into it. I'm sometimes afraid of not doing something perfectly so I won't even try. I have to remind myself not to do that, then make myself go through each of the steps to finish something and accept that it might not be perfect.

    I prefer being persuasive and making sure things are genuinely mutually beneficial for those I'm persuading. Psychological tricks are often manipulative, smarmy and unnecessary.

    Yes the mirror trick:
    So useful especially when I’m being yelled at by my parents or teachers and I just conveniently happen to find a mirror just lying about to show people their reflection...

      Or you can always stand in front of a mirror facing them, so they see themselves over your shoulder.

    #12 EYE CONTACT
    Although not a "staring contest", it's best to look into the eyes and only glance away, then back to eye contact. You should NOT be "uncomfortable" with this social technique as you should be aware/ know that this literally will have others know you're genuine, even "bond" you WITH them. And you get the same back accordingly; whether they "look (back at) you in the eye(s)" •

    Oh man I agree about the handshake! I was interviewing this girl for a position, I really liked her until we shook hands at the conclusion of the interview. She squeezed so hard, I thought she wanted me to drop to my knees and say, I give. Well I did not give her the job, bc of that handshake. I was afraid she might be psycho. I was definitely going to hire her until that very uncomfortable handshake, but she'll never know.

    I would do my work in public so I can trick myself into thinking other people could be watching me so I can be more productive and also I like to go to the gym and stare at people lifting weights so when they see me, they will lift harder.

  • @jakem.1587

    Yes, use it very wisely. Depending on who your watching work you run the risk of being disrespectful to that employee your gonna watch. I will purposely stop what I'm doing and start talking shit to you until you decide to roll up your sleeves and show me how it's done or go the fuck on and let me do my job.

    I use to love psychology until it dawned upon me that it was nothing but manipulation and control, “beating around the bush” and passive aggressive behavior (to name a few) all of which I despise. To me they make one seem weak more than anything.
