    I’ve done 60 000km on the Ténéré including 4 rallies, a lot of off-road and months in Morocco and Tunisian deserts.
    This is first video in series about my experience with T7 and the accessories I’ve been using in last three years on the road.
    I focus here on the CamelADV as I have quite a few items. They test and evolve their products and if there is a problem they provide great customer service.
    Chapters:
    00:00 Intro
    01:19 Traction pegs
    03:52 1 Finger clutch
    06:27 Tail tidy
    09:25 Tank cap seal
    10:53 Heavy-duty side stand spring
    11:44 Anti-bobble-head
    13:38 Why I don't have...

    Thank you for the video. I am also a fan of CamelAdv. Recently purchased and installed the sidestand and one finger clutch. I have a few other goodies from them. The Camel gas tank is on the wish list.
    I am looking forward to your Outback Motortek video.

      How is the side stand? I would think about it for the pivot turns because the aluminium is just pain... and it's some composite so you can't weld the OEM side stand.

      @comfortablyunknown700 Рік тому

      @@FARANDFURTHER Definitely a lot stronger. A stronger spring comes with it. I have done several pivot turns with the new. I do not see a need for ever welding the camel toe, it is very strong.

    Great review. Thanks. Do ride the Bike in original hight. We have the same size and I thinking to change my longer link back to Original. What are your thoughts about this?

    I was considering the Acerbis plastic skidplate for my Tenere Euro5 but after seeing your video I like the carbon fiber skidplate more.

    The last model XT660Z front brake hoses OEM will fit very well , so you can swap fenders easily.

    Like Camel products & service for all the same reasons. My T7 is well equipped with their well tested upgrades. Was happy to see Cory make my leaky gas cap fix available to everyone. Suspect i might need the revised tail tidy as the first model may be suffering the same fate as yours.

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Рік тому

      Yea, they are a good workshop. The gas cap fix is a life changer, isn't it. If I'd be you, I'd just wait for it to crack and then weld it/find a welder who can do reinforcements.
      I wanted to reinforce it myself but Cory just reached out and said he will send me a new one so I took up on the offer.

      @@FARANDFURTHER yeah, especially with the tank bag on the cap would pour out fuel. Not anymore! Bit sad that Yamaha even let that glitch out the door, but an easy fix anyway.

    All the good things from Camel ADV😃 I cracked the tail tidy too, but it's still good enough after welding👍

      Hi Ralf, I think welding a reinforcing brackets is the way to go. It does not need to be as fancy as the official version two to last for ages.

      @@FARANDFURTHER I realized it at the start of the video, turned up youtube-sound slider to max, couldn't hear you properly and had to turn up the system sound from 25% (my default setting where I can hear all other youtube videos comfortably) to 80%.
      Also I checked on multiple parts in the video, it seems to be all over the video. Perhaps take the Micro a little closer? Or before rendering, turn the audio line up a few dbs?

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for feedback. I usually normalize audio levels to peak at -10dB maybe I made some mistake in that. It sounded fine on my laptop so I didn’t put too much of thought to it as the workflow is always the same.
      Difficult to fix it now as it would need to re-render and mainly re upload which would need a new video.
      It is what it is, next time I’ll be more careful.

    That tail tidy is poorly engineered and the work around is not the best either. It does concern me that companies can design and produce an item with such obvious design flaws. I decent engineer would immediately spot the weakness in that tail tidy. Its not a safety critical part thankfully but the same mistakes can be made on other items they design which could be dangerous. I see this so often on bike accessories even down to the most basic items such as luggage strap brackets that could cause serious injury in a fall.

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Рік тому

      Can you recommend one which is better designed? We are talking about alternative to the updated version of course.

    • @NK-dl2nc
      @NK-dl2nc Рік тому

      @@FARANDFURTHER To be honest I have stuck with the standard tail end for now as I can't say that I have seen a tail tidy that I like. Also, it seems that they all spray dirt up your back and on your luggage which isn't great. I am going to wait until I break mine and then will design and fabricate a suitable replacement. It is good that you are testing these parts and being honest about how they perform. It helps others make informed decisions on what they purchase 👍

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Рік тому +2

      I think that’s a sensible approach. As I said in the video, if the high exhaust would not incinerate my indicator I’d not even consider the tail tidy.
      You have a point that the OEM provides much better protection against water and crap as well.
